Chapter 39 – Koyaga’s jealousy

As if to prove what she was saying, Tresuria pointed to the red flower that was still opening and closing, accompanying her breathing. He gulped and said, “It seems the chewing gum affected you almost in the same way as it affected me when I tested it yesterday. I think Gailies and Humans have more in common than I thought. I am sorry, I didn’t know.”

“Don’t worry, this one was just caught by surprise. This one will be alright in a minute. This one is already in the proper age for ‘experiment’, but this one never did it.”

She immediately covered her face with both hands as she vigorously shook her head. “Oh no, this one did it again! Such shame! Please forget what this one said, Nozomu! Oh, this one wants a hole to hide!”

Nozomu gently took one of her hands from her face and made a gentle smile. “Don’t worry, Tresuria, there is nothing to be ashamed of. Do you want to go outside to get some fresh air? We have to return to Ourelona, anyway, but you could perhaps walk with us until the Magical Circle.”

“Yes, fresh air, that’s it! This one needs fresh air and sunlight. Let’s go!”

Without waiting for no one, Tresuria dragged Nozomu by his hand to the main room, and from there, straight to the street, and she stopped near the Unicorns that had an enormous crowd nearby, looking at them and smiling.

Koyaga arrived with Draiky, and said to the still panting Gailie, “That’s it, deep and slow breaths, Tresuria, one after the other, that’s it.”

Nozomu gulped at the sight of Tresuria’s breasts going up and down as she breathed, and the way her pink nipples seemed to scream at him, looking hard as rocks.
Koyaga noticed and elbowed him, signalling with her eyes to the crowd around. While Nozomu disguised by looking at Draiky that was near his feet, Koyaga went to Tresuria and fixed her hair, using some portion of it to cover her breasts.

Tresuria took one last deep breath, and she then closed her eyes and faced up, letting the sun bathe her body. After a few seconds, she spoke, her cheeks with a light green colour again. “This one is deeply sorry, Nozomu. That chewing gum is way too powerful for Gailies. This one can’t even imagine what would happen if this one chewed one. The effect was already overwhelming just by Draiky chewing it.”

“I am sorry for that, Tresuria. It was painful in any way?”

“Not really, just an amazing feeling that this one was not expecting. It’s not an unknown feeling, because this one has already ‘experiment’ on herself, but it was surprising, and-”

She covered her face with both hands and shook her head. “Oh, this one did it again! Why can’t this one keep her mouth shut? Oh, this one wants a hole to hide!”

Nozomu gently grabbed her hand and said, “Let’s pretend you didn’t say a thing, ok? That way, you don’t need to feel ashamed or feel awkward near me. We are probably going to be colleagues in the Academy, and I don’t want you to run away from me every time we meet because of shame.”

“Yes, you are right… But it is still shameful… This one will try to forget what this one said, as long as you don’t talk about it.”

“We have a deal, Tresuria. Now, while we walk, what about if you tell me more about your home? What is it like to live in a forest? Do you live in a house on a tree or on the ground? And what kind of house? You have any siblings?”

Tresuria giggled, and Nozomu felt his heart skipping a beat because of how cute it sounded. “Hihihi! You sure have a lot of questions! Very well, this one will satisfy your curiosity!”

Koyaga pointed to a shop near the main street, and she entered to grab the supplies her brother asked, leaving Nozomu and Tresuria near the Unicorns, happily chatting. She returned with a huge bag over her shoulder after a mere fifteen minutes, and she had to slap gently Nozomu’s back for him to move.
Along their walk to the Magical Circle and while being followed by a silent and contemplative Koyaga, Tresuria told Nozomu about her home in the Kingdom of Garam.
They were so distracted by the talk, that they didn’t even notice there was a crowd following them, admiring the Unicorns, and with some people asking Koyaga how she got such magnificent and extremely dangerous Magical Beings, with her only smiling and waving at everyone that questioned her.

When Koyaga went to the building of the Magical Circle, she glanced at the talking pair and bit her lower lip while mumbling, “Stupid Koyaga, ‘yuuu’ buddy, remember? Just a ‘yuuu’ buddy!”

After some minutes, she joined Nozomu in the middle of the Magical Circle with the Unicorns, and Nozomu waved at the smiling Gailie. Her pet was facing Nozomu and waving all of his vines at him.
The Mage activated the column, and the Magical Dome appeared. When it disappeared, they were back in Ourelona.

Nozomu stretched his arms and smiled at Koyaga, who quickly smiled back, trying to disguise her worries. “That went rather well, I think. Except for that annoying kid in Kolga-Jaani.”

“Yes, it sure did. We need to rush to the Guild. I bet Taisetsuna is going nuts with the extra work by now. I just hope she didn’t lose her temper and killed someone.”

“Oops, I didn’t think about that! Yeah, better if we hurry! It’s already lunchtime, and I am starving. I want to grab something in the kitchen before I go help serve the food!”

As they increased the speed of their pace, Koyaga was fighting against herself. After nearly two minutes of silence, she asked, “Nozomu, you were quite surprised by Tresuria. You don’t remember if you ever saw a Gailie?”

“No, I don’t. Until today, not even in a book. Taisetsuna told me what Gailies were, but I never saw one. I can’t even imagine how they evolved! They were a plant that got intelligence, or they were people that turned into plants? Well, Beast-kind are also strange, in that evolutionary aspect.”

“Well, you can’t deny that Tresuria is pretty. All Gailies are, actually.”

Nozomu made a slight smile. “Yes, she sure is. I guess it’s not that she is pretty, she is cute. She is a bit shy, smiles a lot, and even her laugh is cute. She looked fragile and made me want to protect her. I don’t know if all Gailies are like that.”

“Yes, they are all like that. But you are awfully wrong if you think Tresuria is fragile and needs protection. Her vines alone can tear a grown-up man in half, and most of her flowers are deadly. That pet of hers? Even more dangerous than her, because if Tresuria was in danger, she would merely protect herself while trying not to kill anyone, but her pet is a whole different story!”

“Yeah, I kind of figured that out, just by the look of that weird plant. It looked strangely strong, and that mouth full of teeth was scary. I bet it can kill a guy by biting him to death! And Tresuria created it! From one of her seeds, and Magic! Unbelievable...”

Koyaga bit her lower lip and tried to sound casual. “She impressed you a lot, huh?”

“Well, I can’t deny that. It would probably impress me as well if it was a male Gailie. I never thought such a being could exist! And Tresuria told me a bunch of things about her village and what they do there, how her day is and such. No wonder Humans marry Gailies. I can understand the attraction of Gailies and their way of life by enjoying each day in Nature and the liberty it brings. I think Taisetsuna would also like that kind of life, considering she is aiming to buy a farm and live the rest of her days peacefully.”

“It’s probably better if you lower your enthusiasm when you talk with her about Tresuria, you know? She might get jealous.”

Nozomu raised one eyebrow, wondering what she was talking about, and Koyaga sighed. “You know Taisetsuna likes to be around you, and today you went to another City and met a cute Gailie. If you don’t stop talking about Tresuria, she will probably get jealous because you found a Gailie without her, and you went to other Cities without her. Nozomu, I know we are just ‘yuuu’ buddies with no strings attached, but even I am feeling jealous by the way you are talking about Tresuria.”

“Oh! I see… I am sorry. I suppose I am overly excited. I saw two different Cities, a mighty Dwarf and a Gailie, all on the same day. I did not intend to make you feel uncomfortable or jealous.”

“As long as you avoid looking so excited, I can manage. Wait, did you just say mighty Dwarf? What is so mighty about a Dwarf? I noticed you were looking at Agu Sirel in Tabivere with your eyes glowing, but I took that as a surprise at meeting a Dwarf. They are not that impressive, you know?”

Nozomu shrugged. “To me they are. They are all probably shorter than me, amazing blacksmiths, extremely strong, and they use a battle axe to fight. That is pretty awesome for me. Not to mention their courage and bravery. From what I read, never a Dwarf fled from a battlefield even if he was facing his death against ten or twenty enemies.”

“Well, that is true. They are fierce fighters, and they never, never give up. The only way to stop a Dwarf is to kill him. And even that is hard because they don’t die easily. If you think the fight is over because he is knocked out, the moment you let your guard down, he will slaughter you. Dwarfs are fast to recover their senses after a knockout, and they react faster than you. Even Cat-kind avoids picking a fight with a Dwarf, just so you can see how dangerous those short guys are. Only Elfians can go head to head against them, and even they don’t like to fight Dwarfs. Elfians valour honour above everything, even during a fight. Dwarfs don’t care about honour or proper fighting conduct. They will bite your balls off if they have to because as long as they win, everything goes.”

“Like I said, mighty Dwarfs. I wonder if we will meet an Elfian in another City. I never saw one, just read about them.”

Koyaga sighed, still feeling sad about the way Nozomu reacted to meeting a Gailie but did her best to disguise it. “That won’t be too difficult to happen, I think. We have a few Cities to visit, and Elfians often go to cities to sell the animals they hunt or useful plants that are used to make Healing Potions.”

Nozomu smiled, happy with the idea of meeting another race, and he then saw the line coming from the door of the Guild. He looked at Koyaga, and they rushed to the entrance because, for sure, their help was needed.
Inside, there was chaos. Taisetsuna was at the reception, noting down the orders, and the Guild Master was coming from the kitchen with trays full of wrapped pizzas. Two Adventurers were filing cups with ale and rushing to the tables that were full of Adventurers and citizens that had come for lunch.
Koyaga rushed to the reception, and Nozomu went to the kitchen. Taisetsuna was dripping in sweat, but still greeted Koyaga with a smile, and got told to sit down and rest for a while, and she would handle things. Taisetsuna happily obeyed because she was feeling almost like fainting.

In the kitchen, the big Bovine-kind cook was busy, running from the stove to the oven, and back to the stove again. The moment he saw Nozomu, he threw a wooden spoon at him while pointing at the stove. “Catch! Check the stew while I take out the pizzas! You wouldn’t believe the number of people that arrived after you left! It seems the entire city is outside, waiting to get pizzas and chocolates!”

Nozomu lifted the lid of the stew and mixed it while grabbing a slice of pizza to eat. He smiled as he smelt the cooking. “As usual, this looks amazing, Mister Seta.”

“Stop flattering me and work faster, people are waiting!”

“On it, boss!”
