CHAPTER 62

Brayan successfully made us some pasta and I was lounging in his arms when we heard a car outside.

“Have they come to pick up the work?”

“No. They aren’t supposed to until I call for them and I haven’t” he climbed out of bed and looked through the window blinds.

“Stay here. I’ll check who it is”

I obviously wasn’t going to stay. The moment he was out of sight, I climbed down too and followed him outside. From the distance, i could see him talking to Gannon and he kept looking over his shoulder.

I moved closer and I heard a deep sigh.

“I thought I told you to stay indoors”

He already knew I was here. No need for hiding. I came out and stood by his side while Gannon smiled widely.

“Is something wrong?” He shifted his gaze to Brayan before answering me.

“There is a small issue back at the house that needs your attention and aunt Elowen asked me to get you”

I frowned. What issue could possibly need my attention.

“It’s not important and Gannon will return and tell them you are available since we are in our honeymoon”

I rolled my eyes. He didn’t want me to do anything aside enjoying the honeymoon with him but he wanted to get work done.

“Tell me what it is Gannon” I said forcing authority in my voice.

“Your family is waiting to see you”

“I told you it wasn’t important”

“They’ve been at the house since the early hours of the morning and they say they will not be leaving until they speak to you”

“I don’t want to see them”

“I get that but uncle Dakarai doesn’t want to remove them forcefully since they are insisting the won’t be leaving until they see you. I don’t think there’s any harm if you just see them so they can leave”

“She’s not going Gannon. I already told you that. Go back and tell them”

He sighed deeply and I entered inside the house back. Brayan was saying something to him and then I heard the car drive off.

I felt his warm presence at my back and he wrapped his arms around my waist, kissing my neck.

“Don’t let it bother you. They’ll be gone soon”

“Hmmm”

“What do you want to do for the rest of the day?”

“Can we go swimming?”

“Swimming it is” he lifted me and I giggled as he carried me through the doors and to the river.

It helped with my sour mood but I just couldn’t stop thinking about them. I should just see them and be done with it.

“I think it’s best if I see them” I said suddenly.

“You don’t have to”

“I know. I just want to and get over with it”

“Even though it’s bad for your mental health?”

“They’ll only keep showing up”

“So you’re going to forgive them?” I shrugged he shook his head and sighed.

“Fine. I’ll take you there but they better not upset you or make you cry and after that, no more interruptions”

“You’ll leave your work too?”

“Yes. I mean it. No more interruptions. We’re spending the rest of the time in bed. Except you want yo go to another city but we’ll still spend it in bed anyways”

I giggled.

“It’ll be a good idea”

He kissed my forehead and typed something on his phone. Probably telling Gannon to turn around and come and get us.

He arrived shortly after and we got into the car. I was relaxed during the drive but as soon as we got to the house, i tensed up.

I didn’t understand why but Brayan rubbed his hands over mine in comfort and I relaxed again.

The door opened and my eyes instantly went to Nevaeh. She had added so much weight and I noticed her clothes were tight around her abdominal area. My eyes moved to mama who had red eyes. Papa too.

“Paisley” my eyes shifted to Coulter who hugged me. He was the only one that made a move to.

“We’ll give you guys some privacy. You can talk in the other room” Elowen pointed to another door and I nodded.

“This way” Gannon said and they followed him.

“Do you want me to come with you?”

I shook my head. “It’s nothing I can’t handle. I’ll be fine”

He nodded. “Okay. But if you need anything, you just call for me and I’ll be there”

I nodded and kissed his lips. I pulled away before he deepens it and moved to the room that my family was currently in.

“You wanted to see me?” I asked none of them in particular.

“Yes” Papa responded.

“I heard you returned from your trip and decided it’s best we all have a talk. It’s overdue”

“I’m listening” I said making myself comfortable on another comfortable chair.

“Firstly, I’m sorry again for everything I’ve done to you” it was Nevaeh that spoke.

“I’m sorry for betraying our bond as twins and friends. For lying to you and almost destroying your life. I’m sorry for everything”

“And I’m sorry for keeping it away from you” mama spoke now but her voice cracked from crying.

“I didn’t want to tell you because you were already upset and going through a lot after the failed mating. I was concerned for your health and I didn’t think you would stand another betrayal. I shouldn’t have kept it from you”

“And I’m sorry for not handling things better. This mess was all because of me” papa spoke finally.

“I was against you forgiving her but I can’t watch our family break apart like this. They are genuinely sorry and I wouldn’t have followed them here if I wasn’t sure of it. I know it’ll be difficult considering everything that you went through but please forgive her. Us”

Their apologies were genuine and heartfelt. I didn’t even know I was already crying. It hurt so much because I loved them so much and I was willing to do so much for them but I could never truly hold a grudge against them.

Things will be awkward between us but forgiveness was the first start in repairing the bonds that have been broken.

“I forgive you” I said and we all broke into tears. Nevaeh was the first to hit me and I hugged her back. I hugged mama and papa too and we all cried together.

The door burst open and we looked at the intruder. It was Brayan and he has a dangerous look on his face as he noticed my tears filled face.

“Are you okay?”

I nodded. “I am”

Everything was okay now.
