Mrs. Leon Is In Trouble
Sang-Woon passed Mrs. Leon a glass of cold water. She took it with a grateful smile, downing the whole thing in one go. The man took back the empty glass and placed it. “Do you need anything else?” He asked kindly. Mrs. Leon shook her head. “No thanks. I think I am good." Mrs. Leon let out a deep sigh. "Should I call Soo-Yun?" Mrs. Leon's eyes widened. "No! No, I’ll do it myself." Mrs. Leon stood up. "Where are you going Mrs. Leon?" Sang-Woon inquired. "Going home. Please don't let Soo-Yun know about what happened tonight." Mrs. Leon said before leaving the house.
The woman made her way to her car. She unlocked the doors before opening it. As she sat inside of the driver's seat, she sighed heavily once again. She stared at the steering wheel for a few seconds before starting up the car. She drove off.
A few minutes later, Mrs. Leon arrived home. Upon entering her house, she was greeted by the smiling face of Soo-Yun. "Hey mum!" the girl called from the kitchen. The woman walked to where the sound originated. "What's the matter Soo-Yun?" She questioned as she took her shoes off. "Mom, I missed you. That's why I decided to visit you." Her mother smiled at her weakly. "Oh Mom, go and freshen up." Mrs. Leon nodded and headed to her room, causing Soo-Yun to let out a sigh. "Where was she? Should I ask her?" Soo-Yun wondered where her mother was at this hour. After a while, Soo Yun decided to take a shower. Once finished, she went downstairs to find her mother in their shared dining room talking on the phone.
"Yes. That's right, I will see you later." Mrs. Lee hung up the phone and faced Soo-Yun, who came down the stairs.
"Mom?" Mrs. Leon sighed and dropped herself on the couch. "I'm fine Soo. Nothing to worry about." Soo looked confused but decided not to question her mother, as she didn't want her mother getting upset again. It was already late, so Soo Yun headed home. "Bye mom," she said as she hugged her mother. "Goodnight, love you." With one last hug from her mom, she left the house.
Once she closed the door, Mrs. Leon fell onto her knees crying. "Please make it stop," she pleaded for help.
Jun-Sang rested his head on the headboard while eyes were fixed on the laptop screen. He didn't see Haneul after that night. Maybe she needed some time alone, or she was still pissed off. He wasn't sure either, but one thing was for sure was he would never try to talk to her again like what happened last time. Suddenly, a knock on the door caught his attention. Jun-Sang lifted his head and glanced at the door before permitting the person to come in. Haneul entered with a tray filled with food. She put it down on the bed and sat on the edge of the mattress as if waiting for something to happen. After a few minutes, her eyes wandered around the room and stopped on him. "I am sorry."
Jun-Sang smiled and pulled her into a warm hug. Haneul smiled and hugged him back. Soo-Yun was watching the scene through the open door, as it wasn't her attention, though. The two released from the embrace, only to sit across from each other instead. "You don't have to be sorry." He told her. Soo-Yun smiled with pain in her heart and went back to her room.
In the morning Soo-Yun woke up early or can say she didn't sleep last night. She was so into her mother's thoughts. "What happened to Mom?" She sighed and took a file and her laptop bag before heading out of her room. As she walked downstairs, her eyes met with Jun-Sang, who was sitting with his so-called girlfriend Haneul. They were laughing and Soo just rolled her eyes. It's not like she cares about them. She glanced at one of the maids and smiled before informing her. "I'll be late tonight because I have important work to do. Don't wait for me." the maid nodded her head. Jun-Sang eyebrows frowned in confusion. "About, what work is she talking about?" he asked himself, before diverting his attention to his girl.
"Soo, you're leaving already? Why are you rushing so early?"
"You don't understand." she huffed while putting on her coat. "My mom needs something for her work. And I don't want to stay home all day. So, please leave it alone." She tried to keep calm, but deep down, she really wanted to go see her mom. Even she met her last night.
Soo-Yun entered her office and her assistant manager followed her behind. She passed him a file as she took a seat.
“How many people do you have coming today?” She asked in an annoyed voice. They were going to have another meeting, but it was already late and everyone was already there.
"Not too much. A couple of investors are coming and the company is getting into negotiations on their offer." He said.
The other one handed her a coffee. “You didn’t take your painkiller again, did you? It has been like three days since that happened and you still look pale and sick. Are you sure you want to go through with this deal? If they turn out to be a bunch of assholes, you don’t need the stress right now. You know that I am always here for you no matter what.” he said in a concerned tone.
He knew why Soo-Yun wasn’t feeling good, even if her face didn't show it. "I am fine, Don't worry." She passed him a smile and earned a sigh. "Do you want coffee?" She slightly nodded her head.
He gave a small smile before taking his leave. He could see how exhausted she looked.
Jun-Sang was heading to his office but stopped in his tracks as his gaze landed on Soo-Yun. "I need to find out everything." He said to himself and entered his office. "Call Ms. Leon to my office now." he ordered one of his employees after giving him a file to finish. The employee nodded and bowed at him before heading out of his sight.
A soft knock on the door caught Soo-Yun off guard. She lifted her head and permitted the employee to come inside. "Mam, Mr. Jung called you to his office." "Why?" Soo-Yun raised her eyebrows and inquired. "I dunno," bowing at Soo-Yun when she left the office. "Why did you even ask?" Soo Yun asked herself. "Because I have nothing else to do," she sighed, before making her way to Mr. Jung's office.
It took a few minutes of knocking and calling him until he came in front of her. "Yes?" "You called me?" She was pissed off because of his shitty attitude. First, he called her and now he was acting differently. "You know that I hate this attitude. You called me, now tell me fast what do you want?" Soo-Yun said bitterly, as she didn't care about his feelings. Jun-Sang was tolerating her so much those days, even though he also had anger issues.
"Look, you've been ignoring my messages and I need to leave the country soon, but I have to leave a week early because of a contract I've been assigned for. Can you come with me? I really don't know anyone here except you, and the few I know are too busy at the moment." He explained calmly and looked at her. "Okay, I will go with you."
