Chapter -18

Shourya's POV

"Did you saw my wife yesterday with me?" I asked bewildered.

I could see Naina sweating profusely. I didn't know what to do.

"How she looks? Is she beautiful?" One of the girls in the group asked.

"Yeah she is, I think," Rithu replied.

"What do you mean?" I implied.

"I didn't see her face but she looks somewhat like Naina." Her reply made my wife startled.

I sighed in relief.

"What?" Naina enquired.

"Yeah, I mean she's like you," She answered.

"What do you mean like me?" Naina implored further.

"I don't know about her face but she has same physique like you, hair and colour, everything like XEROX copy of you," She explained.

"Oh okay."  I can see relief on my wife's face.

Seeing her relived and back to smiling baby, i  became relaxed.

"Why you went so early, sir?" Rohit asked.

"Oh, my wife was angry on me," I chuckled.

"By the way Rithu when did you see us?" I asked.

"Oh, when I was searching for Naina. I came out for her but I saw you and your wife going towards the gate. Her back was faced to me. She was in your arms and hid her face in the crook of your neck."

"Oh, ok," I replied.

"Where you went Ms. Naina leaving the party?" I asked smirking.

"I went to meet my family." She replied closing the topic.

After that we went to our classes. My next class was with my wife in laboratory.

"Excuse me guys, please take your respective places," I said.

They all sat in their places after I took the attendance.

"Where is Mr. Karan?" I asked Rohit.

"I don't know sir," He answered.

"He's on the way," My wife replied.

"Ok, let's start the practical."

I didn't know why but I felt something was going to happen. I didn't know what it would be.

I had to stop it before it could happen.

"Before doing this please be careful with the acids," I cautioned.

"Ok sir," They all replied.

After starting the practical I went to inspect other side of the students to see what they were doing.

Why was I getting a strong feeling that something was going to happen?

Someone came rushing to the lab. He was panting heavily.

I knew this guy. He's Karan. He was rushing near Naina's place but why?

"Naina get away from there," He screamed.

"What? Why Karan?" She panicked.

He quickly pushed the chemical in front of her and hugged her.

"Are you okay Naina?" He asked.

"Yes, I'm fine Karan," She said trembling.

I wanted to take her in my arms. If something happens to her I wouldn't be able to bear it.

"Naina, I already told you to be careful but you won't listen to me," Rithu scolded.

"I'm okay guys. See I'm fine," She assured.

"Karan how did you know there was chemical in the tube?" Rohit asked.

I was listening from a distance. If I went there then I would do something which would be regretted later. I didn't want to create a new problem for her.

I wanted to know who hurt my life. I was not going to leave them easily. They were going to regret their whole life for touching my love. I would make their life a living hell.

"I was on the way to lab when I heard some guys whispering something so I went to listen. I stood outside the door. They spoke that they mixed a chemical in the acid which would burn your hand in seconds with a mere touch of it. I didn't understand whose order they were following but it was especially kept to hurt you. They knew where you would stand and do your practical. I ran from there. I came here to see that you were already  trying to touch the chemical. Before you could touch it I pushed you away quickly because I didn't want my sister to get hurt. I'll protect you from everything that will try to harm you, no matter what happens," Karan said with determination.

I was happy that he saved my life. But why was someone trying to harm her? Is there any rival who knew about us?

A big NO because no one knew about us. It was not about business. It was something which I wasn't getting. Who were the bastards trying to harm her?

I wanted to thank Karan. I think my wife got a wonderful brother.

"Thanks Karan for saving Naina," I said.

"It's my responsibility sir."

What responsibility is he talking about? Why am I feeling like I've seen him somewhere? But where? I don't remember.

He looked familiar to me.

Karan Goenka.

He'd kill me. I didn't know what to do. I recognised him without any doubt because he has scar on his left eye brow. He got hurt while playing. I was there when he got hurt.   I couldn't recognise him earlier because I never showed interest checking other people when I have my wife in front of me. Oh Ron i missed you but you'll get something from me.

Yes, Karan is my and Naina's friend but he always treated Naina as his sister.

He's younger to me but elder than Naina by two months.

His parents died when he was nine in a plane crash. His paternal uncle took him away from us.

I tried to contact him but I didn't know where his Uncle took him.

Now he's back.

"Responsibility??" Naina questioned.

"Nayu," He said. See only this guy calls her Nayu.

Yes, he called Naina as Nayu because he only had the right to call her like that, not even me. No one is allowed to call her except him.

She missed him a lot. She used to ask me if I got any clues of him.

"Ron...I mean Mr. Karan thanks again for saving Ms. Naina," I said.

He raised his eyebrow in a questioning gaze asking as if how I knew his name.

I gave a look of explaining it later.

"Arya...." He started but I gave him a look.

Yes, he and Naina only called me Arya because they kept that name for me.

"Ron....no you're not my Ron," Naina blabbered.

Next what she did made everyone eyes go wide. Yes, she did something which rooted everyone to their places but Ron had his hands on his cheeks.

I stifled my laugh because I couldn't joke in front of my students.

My wife slapped her brother. Yes, she slapped him on both left and right cheek.

I didn't want this in future. I didn't want to see this.

"How dare you? Who gave you the right to leave me? You know how I felt when you left? I hate you so don't come near me," She said with tears.

You idiot, see my baby is crying because of you. I hate to see her tears.

"Nayu baby listen. That time I didn't know what was happening around me. Sorry, please don't cry now sweetie," He choked.

"Ron, please don't do this again. I can't loose you again. Please I beg you," She pleaded and  hugged him tightly like he was going to disappear any moment.

Students in the class were looking at them like they were some aliens.....................
