A few minutes later, Lucas returned his expression serious, Olivia turned her gaze to Lucas as he entered the study, “Is everything okay?” She asked.

“Nothing serious, I received a call about Massimo planning something big.” Lucas said, his expression unreadable.

Olivia looked up, concern etched on her face, “ That's serious , Lucas.”

Lucas stepped closer, “I’ll handle it.” He said, “Massimo's always planning something , he's not a threat to haven't dealt with before. Focus on Harris for now.”

Oliviia bit her lips, hesitating for a moment, before nodding, “Alright, but please be careful.”

Lucas walked over her, his expression softening slightly, “I appreciate your concern pretty doll, but this is my world. Let me handle it.”

Oliviia nodded again, her worry still evident but trusting Lucas’ judgment . They continued their work, the tension in the air thick.

As the first light of morning filtered through the windows, Olivia leaned back in her chair exhaustion evidence in her eyes, “We’ve got enough , this is more than enough to take Harris down.”

Lucas looked at the dossier a grim smile on his face, “You’ve done this,” he said cupping her lips and placing a light kiss on her lips , “Now, it's time to put this to use.”


Just then Olivia’s phone buzzed , pulling her attention away from the computer screen. She glanced at the caller's ID and saw Harris’s name. Her heart skipped a beat, but she quickly composed herself.

Lucas noticed the change in her demeanor and stepped closer, his presence a calming force. “It's Harris, isn't it?”

Olivia nodded , her voice steady. “Yes.”

Lucas’s eyes darkened with determination, “I’ll handle him.”

Olivia reached out, placing a hand on his arm, “No, Lucas . Let me handle this. I have a plan.”

Lucas hesitated, his protective instincts warring with his trust in Olivia, “Are you sure?”

Olivia nodded firmly, “Yes. Trust me.”

Lucas's gaze softened , and he nodded, “Alright, but be careful.”

Olivia took a deep breath and answered the call, putting it on speaker, “Detective Harris.”

Harris’s voice came through, smug and confident. “Olivia, I see you’re still alive. How’s your little investigation going.”

Olivia kept her voice steady, her eyes meeting Lucas's for reassurance . “It's going well, Harris. In fact, I’ve uncovered quite a bit about your activities.”

There was a pause on the other end, and then Harris laughed, a harsh sound, “You think you can threaten me? You’re playing a dangerous game, Olivia.”

Olivia's voice was cold and determined. “The game’s almost over,Harris. I’ve got enough evidence to take your down , and I will.”

Harris's tone turned menacing. “You’re making a big mistake. You have no idea who you’re dealing with.”

Olivia's resolve didn't waver. “I know exactly who I'm dealing with. And i’m not afraid of you.”

Harris's voice was a low growl. “We’ll see about that .”

The call ended abruptly , and Olivia looked up at Lucas , her heart pounding. “We need to move quickly . He's going to come after us with everything he has.”

Lucas nodded his expression grim, “We’re ready. And we’ll be waiting.”

As Olivia returned to her work, she couldn't shake the feeling that the final showdown with Harris was approaching. But with Lucas by her side, she knew they had a fighting chance.

Detective Harris sat in his office, the only sound in his office was the rhythmic tapping of his fingers against the desk. His mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, his patience wearing thin.

He had known Lucas to be ruthless, but Olivia working with Lucas was what he was confused about . He reached for his phone , dialing a number he knew all too well.

“Yeah, it's me,” Harris said, his voice a low growl . “We need to accelerate our plans. They’re getting too close.”

On the other end of the line,a deep voice responded, “Understood . What's the next move.”

Harris leaned back in his chair , a sinister smile spreading across his face. “We apply pressure. Lucas thinks he can protect her, but everyone has a breaking point.”

Harris pressed the end button of the call, his mind already calculating his next move. Olivia has now become a strong opponent, but Harris was confident he could outsmart her.

He would use every thing within his power to ensure his own survival and maintain his grip on his illegal acts he had built from the shadows.

As he sat in his office , plotting his next move, he couldn't help but feel a hint of excitement.

Back at the mansion, the atmosphere in the mansion was stretched tight, as Olivia and Lucas prepared for the final moment of truth with Harris. Olivia's mind raced with strategies and contingency plans while Lucas exuded a calm , focused intensity.

Lucas handed Olivia a freshly brewed cup of coffee, “Here, you'll need this.”

Olivia accepted it gratefully, taking a sip. “Thanks, Lucas. I feel like we're closing on him.”

Lucas nodded, his gaze intense, “We are. Harris won't know what hit him.”

Suddenly, Olivia’s phone buzzed again. This time , it was a message from an unknown number. She opened it and quickly read the text. Her eyes widened with alarm.

“What is it?” Lucas asked, instantly alert .

“It's Harris. He says he has someone close to us ,” Olivia replied, her voice shaking slightly.

Lucas's expression darkened, his jaw tightening. “We need to find out who he’s talking about . He's trying to get into our heads .”

Olivia nodded , her determination steeling, “I’ll trace the number . Maybe it'll lead us to him.”

As Olivia began working on tracing the number, Lucas's phone buzzed. It was a message with an update on Massimo's activities . Lucas answered the call.

“What's the status?”

“Boss, Massimo’s men are gathering. It looks like they're preparing for a large-scale operation.” The voice on the other end reported.

Lucas's eyes narrowed, “Keep an eye on them. Report any movement immediately.” his voice is authoritative.

He ended the call and turned back to Olivia. Olivia glanced up, her eyes filled with worry, “Lucas, you have to take this seriously. Massimo is dangerous . If he's planning something big, we need to be ready.”
