JAMES RESCUES OLIVIA
James moved through the last rooms, each as empty as the ones before. He paused, glancing back towards the hallway where Marco was watching him with a hint of amusement and concern, what had gone wrong? Where could she be?
But while Marco and James were scouting the mansion, Olivia was outside, crouched inside the trunk on James's car. She had no idea whose car it was, but she had seen it pull into the driveway earlier, and she knew this was her only chance to escape.
Marco had pressed Oliviia's neck till she nearly passed out, when he found out that she was pregnant. Olivia woke up feeling sons all over her body and she knew that if she stayed there any longer, Marco might make her lose her baby.
When she saw a car driving into the compound through her room window, she knew this was her time to escape. But escaping was going to be difficult, the door was locked, and she knew Marco's men were guarding the exits. Her only help was the bathroom window. The window was high and narrow, barely big enough to squeeze through, but it was her only chance.
Olivia had used all her remaining strength to push a nearby chair from the room to the bathroom, under the window and climbed it. It was a tight fit, she struggled through the window, the jagged edges of the window frame scratched her arms and legs as she wriggled through, but she gritted her teeth and pushed forward.
When she finally broke through , she landed with a painful thump on the floor outside Her body was in severe pains, but she couldn't afford to stop. Crawling across the yard, she forced herself to keep going, her mind focused on the protection of her unborn child .
Reaching the car, Olivia carefully pried the trunk, and slipped inside, closing it behind her as quietly as possible. Her body was shaking and her breath came in ragged gasp from the adrenaline.
It was dark and the space was dark and the space was cramped, but she was out of the house away from Marco for now. She prayed that whoever owned the car would leave soon and take her far away from this nightmare.
As she lay on darkness on the trunk, Olivia could hear muffled voices,
Back inside, Marco was growing increasingly agitated, Olivia was nowhere to be found, but he managed to keep his cool, so James wouldn't be suspicious. He couldn't understand how she had managed to escape, but he knew she had to be in the compound, unless she had outside help - but who?
James, meanwhile, had finished his search, he was obviously frustrated as he made his way to the front door. He shot a glare at Marco as he walked past, their eyes locking in a tense exchange.
“You know, Marco,” James said, his voice laced with suspicion, “I’m not done with this, if I find out you’re lying to me……”
“Get out of my house, James.” Marco interrupted coldly, his patience wearing thin. “You’ve wasted enough of my time.”
James didn't bother responding, he was too angry to respond. He stormed out of the mansion, and headed straight to his car.
Inside the trunk Olivia's heart skipped a beat, as she heard as she heard the click of the locks. She held her breath, praying she wouldn't be discovered.
James got into the driver's seat, slamming the door behind him. His thoughts were racing, frustration and concern gnawing at him. As James started the engine and drove off, speeding away from Marco's. Olivia let out a shaky breath. She had made it.
James held the steering wheel tighter, his thoughts solely on Olivia. Trying to piece together what might have happened. Could she really be in Mexico?
He shook his head, trying to push away the doubts. “Maybe I'm just being paranoid,” he told himself, though the unease in his gut remained.
Olivia squeezed herself as tightly as she could manage in the trunk, every bump on the road, sending a jolt of pain, through her aching body.
She had no idea where the car was going or who was driving the car, but she was relieved to be away from Marco's sight. The exhaustion in her body was taking over, as she found herself drifting in and out of endless sleep.
As the car continued moving, Every so often, Olivia would jolt awake, her heart pounding with fear, only to realize she was still in the car trapped.
Finally James pulled into the underground parking garage of the hotel, shutting off the engine with a sigh. He sat there for a moment trying to clear his head. Stepping out of the car, as he popped the trunk to grab his bags, he froze, staring in shock. There, curled up in the trunk, was Olivia. She looked so pale, her face bruised, and she looked like she hadn't slept in days.
“Olivia!,” Janes exclaimed, his voice filled with disbelief. “What the hell happened to you?”
Olivia flinched at the sudden light and sound, “James?” she called, her voice hoarse as she whispered.
Janes quickly reached down, helping her out of the trunk. “What the hell are you doing in my car? Are you okay? Who did this to you?”
Olivia narrated her ordeal to James. He wrapped an arm around her shoulders, guiding her towards the elevator, “Come on, let's get you inside, you’re safe now.”
As they got inside, Janes pressed his floor button, his mind racing with rage and anger. “That bastard.” He muttered.
“He’s a bastard James. He kept saying things about Lucas ……..about the baby. He said, "He would make me lose my baby.”
James's eyes widened in shock, “You’re pregnant?”
Olivia nodded in response, tears slipping down her cheeks. “Almost two months now.”
James’s heart broke at the sight of her. As the elevator doors opened, James ked Olivia down the hallway to his room. As they entered, he guided her on the couch, grabbing a blanket to wrap around her.
