Chapter 12. Lycan Blood Pack
'What punishment he intended to give?'
LYCAN blood pack is one of the most prominent packs in the land, even in the past centuries. A group of black werewolves in the past led by Alpha Fenri. They were well known as one of the most potent packs until dragons took them down. All that remains are their members who surrendered and agreed to unite with the dragon world. The dragon king Draco swore to give the werewolves the diamond scale, a magical stone that would make them stronger than they ever thought. That was the concurrence between dragons and werewolves, aiming to bring down all of the creatures with a hybrid race: the half-wolf and half-dragon, better known as wolgans.
"Any idea where he might have gone?" asked the man wearing brown full-circle fleece. He was Fenri. And of all the werewolves living in the Lost Forest, he was the most greedy and vicious, a killer with no mercy for anyone; this is why he was also the leader.
"Somewhere isolated," replied Abrosco, one of the subordinates who looked after Hera by watching her in the window. They called him an empath because of his ability to sense the energy of others. "However, I could sense his survival skills. He is quite courageous, determined, and clever in difficult situations. He is an extraordinary man who has the power to control the fire and wind."
"And that signifies of what exactly?" Fenri asked. "Maybe he was the fire summoner?"
"No. I am sure he possessed dragon blood. The red wolgan."
Fenri's eyes widened as he looked into his eyes. "How would you know that?"
"I'm not certain," Abrosco admitted. "But I have an intuition because only the red wolgan has such great power. A fire element is born in him that is called vermilion stone. It will consume and make him robust enough to survive, not unless he loses it."
The others remained silent after this, for they knew they had little hope of getting rid of the man.
"Are you pertaining to Magnus Conri?" Fenri asked, full of curiosity. He stood up and strode slowly toward Abrosco.
Abrosco nodded.
"But he was now extinct since the last war," Fenri spoke as if he wanted to ensure he understood what he heard.
"Yes. But it does not mean he doesn't exist anymore," Abrosco clarified, which hurled everyone a frightened look.
"Oh my goodness! That's inconceivable, brother," Soleia dissented, the Beta in the pack, also the youngest sister of Fenri. She stood up from her seat and crossed her arms before giving Abrosco an unbelievable gaze. "The red wolgan won't gamble his life just to save someone without profound reason unless necessary. And as far as I know, exposing his true form is not his thing. No one even got a chance to see his true identity for almost two hundred years, so how would someone like you be able to deduce who he is?"
"I understand your point, Soleia. But what ensued last time cannot obliterate my intuition." Abrosco gave her a severe look. "That man has a strong will of his own. I'm afraid we can't change anything about it."
"We have to try!" exclaimed Soleia, determination gleaming through her eyes.
"We need Hera, and we cannot just throw our plan just because of nonsensical disruption!"
"But why does he have to save that girl? That wasn't the first time he saved her," Fenri interrupted as one of his brows crumpled in inquisitiveness.
"I cannot answer that. But we have to watch that man carefully to know what we can expect from him. We have to be prudent because if he is truly the red wolgan, we can't defeat him with one blow. If we do, we will lose everything, including the whole pack," Abrosco stated, inducing Soleia to swallow the trepidation that kept creeping over her.
Soleia shrugged her shoulders and stayed hushed. Fenri sighed heavily but decided to stop talking to Abrosco after that.
Later at night, the full moon rose above the night sky, and the Lycan blood pack gathered in front of the giant tree along with the subordinates.
With the wind blowing softly from their direction, the leaves danced wildly. Fenri strode to the center of the pack with hands clasped behind his back and gazed upon everyone with a severe expression. Everyone followed suit with his gaze.
"We're going to Bizarte to discuss the matter with Conri," Fenri announced without further warning.
After a few minutes of discussion and agreement, among other essential details, they finally changed their human form into werewolves. After a loud growl, Fenri turned around and ordered them to depart immediately. With that, he began to run away from the pack. The pack members went in different directions, all knowing the precise destination.
It took them five minutes to reach their destination. A mountain lair where there is a castle called Bizarte, a place where dragons live. The ground is covered in black soil and shrouded with lava.
When they finally arrived at the threshold, the guards wearing armor made of metal opened it to allow them access and headed directly to the main hall, where all the dragons gathered.
Fenri and the other werewolves vowed their heads as an indication of honor after they shifted into a human form.
"We're here to discuss an important matter. We have an unprecedented situation," Fenri began. His words were slow and deliberate, then he sighed. "Never before have we had a matter with a mysterious man. He has the power to control the fire and wind. And this is why we're here to seek help because we need Hera."
"You don't need to explicate everything, Fenri. One of the dragons was slain by this man who has a flaming sword, and I'm sure he was also the man you were referring to," Draco clarified. "We all know the legend about the red wolgan, but we've never seen his true form. And perhaps, he was the man we're both talking about, Fenri."
Everyone was shocked, and their eyes were wide open upon hearing that fact.
"You're right, Draco. So, you mean Magnus Conri was alive?"
"That's genuinely possible. But for now, we have to equip ourselves before getting the mortal girl," Draco stated, which made everyone acquiesce.
Their eagerness to get Hera was visible, with their faces full of profound expectation. No wonder. They could sense Hera's blood, and it's versatile, which means she can heal anyone no matter their condition or state of health, or even the strongest opponent. And it made her more dangerous than any monster, especially considering the amount of magic and power in her veins. Unfortunately, Hera doesn't have any idea about this. Only the dragons and werewolves could sense her presence, and they wanted to get her to be part of their alliance.
The thought of getting her made everyone's excitement grow.
But....
