Chapter 21. Swordsmanship
EMPEROR Han seemed infuriated upon hearing the news from his son, for he respired forcefully in front of him and let the explication finish while the knights were listening solemnly.
"I cannot forgive such aberrant behavior! How dare he threaten my son inside of my property?!" he yelled in fury as he swiveled around to face the knights.
"That was the most gruesome circumstance we've ever encountered, Your Majesty. We need to figure out who it was," one of the knights proffered, which gained an indignant look from the Emperor.
"Are you interfering with me, idiot?!"
"No, Your Majesty. It's just a sort of suggestion," he proclaimed.
But then the statement made the Emperor even more enraged; he strode toward him and struck his face. "That was impertinent! You're not supposed to meddle! All of you here are not allowed to speak your nonsensical mind!"
"Forgive me, Your Majesty." the knight quickly apologized and bowed his head to show his acknowledgment.
The Emperor was about to strike him again when Empress Yve stopped him. "Enough, Han. I think he was right. The man was mysterious and must have a reason behind that."
After delivering those words, the Emperor stayed hushed for a moment as he considered his wife's assertion and regained his composure.
He was pondering what to say next when a sudden disturbance clutched his interest, which compelled him to turn around the source. Another knight was standing in front of him, eager to articulate something.
"Allow me to disturb you, Your Majesty, with the reason to apprise you that Archduke David is waiting for you outside."
"Let him inside. I'll be there in a moment."
The knight bowed his head; he quickly departed and obeyed.
"All of you! I want you to locate that bastard and seek every piece of information about him!" he decreed as he pointed to the knights in authority. "Don't be lumpish and slow during the search if you don't want me to make your life hapless and miserable!"
"Your order is our command, Your Majesty!" they said in unison and bowed their head. They soon vamoosed and started the mission by wandering the entire City of Renanxia, while some were in charge of staying and guarding the Castle.
SWORD training is an odd and thrilling experience. While there are a few who claimed it was too difficult to learn, and whoever jumped into this class had to be insane for choosing something so complex. Its true swordsmanship requires a lot of work and hardship, and of course, you have to come across in grave training.
Amiro held the sword up in the air and kept a firm grip to prevent it from slipping out of his hand. He stared at it and respired, hoping to make it right. A long, slow breath in, and he let go of the hilt with more force than necessary, watching as the tip swung towards him, landing with a sharp smack on the wall. The impact made a deep crack in it, and soon as he witnessed it, he almost jumped out of glee.
"I made it!" it was unexpected since holding a sword was his first time using it, and even though he knew he didn't need that much control right now, he was still proud that he did it. He's been practicing to crack the wall for almost three hours, but it seems like he hasn't hit it hard enough yet. He tried a couple of times to swing at it and missed every single time, but that didn't stop him from trying again.
Darth smiled at how happy Amiro was. "That's what we called accomplishment."
He smiled, then he gradually put down his sword. "Thank you, Your Highness. It must be nice to have such real skills. But do you think I can absorb everything for two months? That would take me a lot of time, so maybe-"
Darth cut him off. "That's a bit torture, Amiro. But you'll manage somehow."
His words are full of hope, yet Amiro isn't sure if he can survive. His life might be difficult, but his determination to learn and grow professionally cannot stop him from fulfilling his dream of becoming a warrior.
"I believe in you, Your Highness." he smiled, but it faded when he suddenly thought of something.
"If you don't mind me asking, Amiro, what makes you dream of becoming a warrior? You have a profound reason for preferring this path over others."
Amiro hesitated, then he lowered his head. "This isn't just any other path, Your Highness. My father is a peasant, and he cannot cater my fees." he sighed and glanced straight at him. "Emperor Han is his cousin, but due to my father's condition, he threw us out of the Castle and ordered everyone not to speak with our family. They are afraid that we will spread rumors or cause disturbances. We live in Forteza village now."
Feeling mercy, Darth was disappointed with this violent fact. That's simply unacceptable to be treated like trash. Just because his father cannot serve the Emperor doesn't mean they have the liberty to wreck their life.
They walked together toward the porch, and every step could be heard clearly because of the sound of their boots until they reached the porch and occupied the two chairs. The wooden seats felt warm as they sat there facing each other.
"So, what happened to your father?"
"One of his feet was crushed by a horse, and the doctor said it would take him years to recover. The Emperor threw us because he wanted my father to serve him, but he couldn't due to his condition. And the upshot is miserable."
As Darth nodded understandingly, Amiro continued, "I wanted to become a warrior, Your Highness. To prove that I can be extraordinary despite the preposterous words they threw at us."
"Then you're a man who doesn't let anything get in his way. You're young, Amiro. Something would come out of your hardships; just focus on your dream, not on those who wrecked you. Because a winner doesn't pay attention to his foe or negativity, but to the success."
It was an incredible moment for Amiro to have such a Young Master like him— a person who can offer an optimistic advantage, a person who is strong enough and intelligent enough to know what should be done and not done. Someone who can guide him through this stormy not just by possessing knowledge but also a good character and a true essence of value.
After a fleeting moment, a sudden noise came from the direction of the kitchen.
Without hesitation, Darth rose from his seat and went towards where the noise source was, and then he was dumbstruck at what he saw the moment he arrived at the kitchen.
