Chapter 28. She's missing

"Killing wasn't part of my vocabulary. But my eyes don't want to catch any evilness, and for every glimpse of it… expect me to do something about it. Something you wouldn't wish upon your worst enemy."

A moment of silence prevailed in the air, as though each person was silently contemplating what they meant to say.

Striding toward, Draco walked unhesitantly, his head held high but his face stoic, like a man who knew he carried some weight within himself and did not fear the repercussions or even its consequences.

Internally, a copious amount of fury and frustration raged inside him, threatening to spill over onto those around him.

But outwardly, all Draco could think to do was to fight the urge not to express his outburst and to keep up his façade of indifference. "This is not our last encounter, Magnus Conri. Don't be full of yourself. You have no idea how far I can go if we are ever to meet again. Be vigilant… just one mistake, and you'll regret it forever." his tone hardened until Draco quickly shifted into a black dragon and vanished into thin air along with the other dragons and werewolves.

DARTH solemnly observed the entire land while standing on a plateau surrounded by lush greenery. On clear days like today, numerous thoughts kept bubbling into his senses.

The sight of a fierce thunder brewing in the sky arrested him. Dark, outrageous clouds boiled in the skies that symbolized his fate was about to end in turbulence — a kind of predicament like an imminent disaster that couldn't be prevented.

The morning sun rose over the peaks and streamed down on the Land of Renenxia, defying the threatened darkness that was about to shroud the mortal world.

"I plan to find the witch before the war escalates. They will surely return for vengeance," Darth stated under heavy-lidded as he recollected the bloody war yesterday. "We couldn't find our foes' stratagems on the next war, but that is paramount since I'm involved."

"That's understandable. Draco and Fenri won't stop until you surrender. But don't overthink; I support you in your quest," Master Amoux agreed as he stayed rigid beside Darth. "But remember that dangers lurk beyond the horizon of every battle. You must watch your step and be vigilant because they can find you everywhere."

With acknowledgment, he nodded and veered around, his face grimly serious while Master Amoux's remained calm. "Gramercy. I need to know her past. I have an intuition that Hera is not just a human who lived in this time, but rather she was from the past."

"It must be the truth then, "Amoux murmured in agreement, knowing better than to contradict him or even ask why Darth needed it so badly. He had enough profound reasons to search for the witch: to seek the efficacious advice she could provide them both. Darth would only commence his research because there was more at stake now that he and Hera were enraged in a more complicated war than their previous conflicts. And it seemed that everything would take place sooner than expected — the battle between werewolves, dragons, and Wolgan.

"I don't understand why I was being summoned whenever she was in danger and why I felt so much bizarre whenever she was around." he was bothered by his constant presence when she was near her despite their lack of physical interaction.

The truth is he couldn't measure how numerous times he rubbed out his mental image, yet something about her kept coming back into his mind no matter what he tried. She was too mysterious and intriguing. He didn't like her in any way words could describe, but he liked her more than a stranger. He knew it was wrong to have a deep curiosity toward the mysterious girl, but something about her made him want to see what lay beyond her veil. It was almost impossible to ignore to the point that he wanted to preserve her at all costs, especially now that he knew enemies were eager to get her.

Now he was in the middle of his deepest worry, not to his greatest adversary, not the death, but to the fact that his identity as red Wolgan was revealed. There's no way he could have survived this ordeal without exposing himself because the best way he could conquer an opponent is like what he'd done two hundred years ago.

"So, when do you plan to go?" Amoux inquired as he continued to walk on the path, still keeping his distance.

"Tomorrow night. I must speak with Hera first and convince her not to go out to avoid further conflict with the enemy." His words were cold as he looked ahead in silence, the only sounds in the vicinity were crickets and the breeze rustling the trees.

"That's exactly my advice you should tak e," Master Amouxconcurred softly.

They spend a few more minutes discussing details about upcoming plans before departing in different directions to meet at dawn. Master Amoux promised to guide his scholar, Amiro, during his absence and gave him instructions regarding various matters regarding training and study. Darth arrived at his residence late into the evening after having been away all day. The weather hadn't changed, which seemed odd to him. Suddenly, Amiro frantically approached him, looking quite distressed.

"Young Master! I have an important thing to tell you!"

"What is it?" he asked, confused but intrigued.

"Hera is missing!" Amiro's tone was solemn as if he had committed some heinous crime.

Without further ado, he handed him a piece of paper. Darth took it, unfolding it, and his eyebrows furrowed as he read the contents of the paper.

"I'm sorry, I was occupied reading my syllabus earlier, and when I was about to check Hera… she was gone."

Darth didn't respond, and soon as he reread the note a few times, a strange sense of dread settled in the bottom of his heart, his expression becoming stern.
