Kiss Me Like You Are Married To Me

The initial surprise washed away as Lana adjusted her head on Hector's chest, and her eyes fell on Queen Elvira who was seething. She gave a small knowing smile, and brought him closer to her, wrapping her arma around him tighter, and she closed her eyes.

Queen Elvira made her way downstairs and without stopping to breathe, pulled Lana away from Hector, got in between them and landed a slap on Lana's right cheek. The shock made her teeth dig into her lower lip as the impact of the slap hit her, and she fell to the ground with a cut lip.

"How dare you?" Queen Elvira asked, her eyes wide with the anger she felt.

"Your...Elvira..." Hector started to say and she suddenly turned to him.

"How dare you, Hector?"

Hector's breath hitched in his throat. "Your highness, I...I apologize, I was..."

"You were what? So enamored by the fact that she somehow brought herself here that you stood in the niddle of our p alace and let her embrace you? You are my husband!" She yelled, her eyes bulging.

"I know, Elvira. I do. It is just that... I was surprised. She was suddenly here and she suddenly just wrapped..."

"You know you wanted it too, Hector. You have been so in love with me for years, you do not expect to simply forget it."

Queen Elvira turned to Lana and before anyone could stop her, her foot had come in contact with Lana's stomach, causing the other woman to yelp in pain.

"Your highness!" Hector said, his breath leaving him as Lana wiggled around in pain.

"What? Are you about to beg for her?"

"Elvira...hit me instead. Release all of your anger on me but please..."

"How dare you beg for another woman? How dare you try to take the punishment for another woman?!"

Hector lowered his head. Whatever he said seemed to only annoy her more, and he decided to keep quiet. He was not trying to intervene for Lana because he still loved her. He did not exactly hate her too, and he hated seeing her hurt. But more than that, he hated how he was somehow turning Queen Elvira into a monster. He hated what his fickleness was doing to her.

Queen Elvira let out a small breath. "Guards!"

Hector's eyes widened as four of them emerged. "Your highness..."

"You do not dare say a word, Hector."

Hector turned to Lana who still weirdly had this sadistic smile on her face. He turned back to Elvira who slowly pointed her hand to Lana.

"Take her away."

"Your highness..."

"I said, take her away!"

The guards gave a bow and proceeded to roughly drag Lana to her feet, then pulled her away.

"Hector, " Lana yelled as she was dragged away. She strained to turn to him as she moved involuntarily. "I love you! I still love you!"

Hector closed his eyes and Queen Elvira turned to him.

"Why? Do you see me as a monster now?"

He gave a small sigh and opened his eyes. "I apologize for making you this way, Elvira. It is truly my fault."

Queen Elvira felt like she had been doused with water, and all of her anger slowly evaporated. She had been livid seconds ago, and now she felt almost deflated.

"Hector..." She started to say, but could not find the words to say. He looked so hurt, so confused by her and it hurt. It hurt that she had resorted to showing him this side of her.

He looked up at her, then slowly lowered his eyes again. "I apologize."

He slowly turned away and walked towards his chambers, deliberately passing by her chambers, the chamber they had shared ever since they arrived.

Queen Elvira closed her eyes, and brought the back of her hand to wipe off the colour on her lips. All she had been able to achieve was putting distance between them and nothing wkse. Not like she regretted what she had done to Lana, but she did regret having done it in his presence. He had looked so disappointed.

Hector sat on the floor, his hands in his hair as he ruffled it slowly, his mind wandering. Even though at first, he had thought of Queen Elvira as this person she had been earlier, she had proven him wrong so many times, had proven to him that she was different.

He was not disappointed in her, he was more disappointed in himself. He had been on his way back to the chambers when Lana suddenly came to the door. He could remember how happy she looked on seeing him, and she had used his surprise to her advantage. She ran to him, wrapping her arms around him, like she used to when they were back in the servant's quarters. But that was then. Now, he was married to the Queen, and Lana had no right to do that to him. Neither did he have a right to do it to Queen Elvira.

He gave a small sigh and lowered his head again, hoping he had not hurt her too much back then.

Queen Elvira sat on the edge of her bed, her back straight even as her eyes moistened. She was still a queen, and she would not break down and xry like some damsel in distress. She found that she could not quite do it, so she just sat there, like a Queen, eyes filling.

She slowly pulled the black tulips Hector had given her the other night, and brought it to her chest. They had been so happy. Why did Lana have to come back into the picture when she was one of the reasons Queen Elvira wanted to leave in the first place?

Hector gave a small sigh and made his way to Queen Elvira's chamber, his breath hitched in his throat. Slowly, he ushered himself in to the dark room, and let his eyes slowly adjust to the darkness.

Queen Elvira was not there, and he took a few more steps forward to make sure. He lit a candle, and he could see the scattered tulips on the bed, the scroll of his letter.

"Elvira?"He called and went forward.

"What?" she answered, and his back steeled. Slowly, he turned to the drapes where she was standing, her eyes following his every movement.

"Elvira...I came to apologize. What happened earlier was..."

"Your apology is not accepted, Hector." She pulled herself off the drapes and started to walk past him. He held her hand back, his desperation drowning out the voice that always told him to stop just before he touched her.

"What do I have to do for you to accept it?" He asked, his voice low.

She slowly removed her hand from his. "Apologize like you would when you have accepted your marital status."

He blinked. "H..how?"

She took a step forward, and he found it surprising how he did not take one back.

"Kiss me, Hector. Kiss me like you are married to me."
