Stronger Than The Force of Nature

Hector's eyes widened a bit, and Queen Elvira brought her index and middle fingers to cradle her forehead, then gave a big sigh.

"Not that, Hector. I do not need you to kiss me like we are married. I need you to do it like you have always fantasized about the idea of being married to me. I need you to do it like you love me. Like you could love me."

Hector took a step backwards. "Your highness..."

"So I reverted back to your highness." She gave a small dark chuckle, then followed it with a small sigh. "I understand. You will not be able to do it especially when the woman you actually adore is held captive by me. You can not break her heart while her feet stand on the same soil, can you?"

"Elvira, that is not it. I just..."

"How much longer do I wait? What more do I need to do? What is it that I have not tried, tell me if there is something that I have been missing."

"Elvira, there is nothing..."

"Then what does she have that I do not? Why do you still look at her the way I yearn for you to look at me? Why do you let her do the things I yearn to do to you?"

"I did no such thing, Elvira. I know the circumstances, but I will never ever disrespect the oath of marriage. I swear."

Queen Elvira gave a small pause, her breath ragged as she watched his ever beautiful innocence, then bit down on her lips.

"Excuse me." She said simply, needing to simply walk away from the scene that has happened so many times, yet it did not change just how hurtful it is.

"No," Hector said, stopping her by her arm. "Please do not leave this time."

"Why? Tell me one reason why I should not."

Hector let out a small shaky breath. "Your husband...your husband stands here, Elvira and...I need you to stay. Please. I know I do not have the right but I do hope you would stay."

He sounded as sincere as she felt, and she felt some of the anger and the hurt dissipate under his words.

"Hector." she started to say, not knowing exactly what she had in mind to say. It was as if she wanted to call him name, and she did.

"Please," he said again, thinking she was about to resist. He pulled her arm towards him, and stood in front of her. She looked up to him, her eyes wide, emotions flickering within the orbs.

Slowly, his hand reached for her left cheek, his slow subtle touch cooling her down faster than his apologies ever will. He let his fingers glide downwards to the sensitive edge of her neck, causing her to close her eyes and suck in a sharp breath, then up towards the side of her face.

He found her skin smooth, and even though doing it scared him, he could not help but just stand there, and let his hands make all the decisions he was too naive and scared to make.

His other hand came up to her waist and she immediately leaned in to him, arching her back a little, as his fingers cupped the small of her back.

He leaned in closer, so he could feel her small rapid breaths, and when he spoke, she felt it more than she heard it.

"I am truly sorry," he said, his hand finally coming to rest on the side of her face as he gently cupped it. "I will not let any such thing happen again."

She slowly opened her eyes, and then looked up to meet his. An affinity stronger than anything she ever felt passed between them at that moment, coursing through their veins like a force of nature and with the slight darkening of Hector's eyes, she knew he could feel it too.

"You will truly break my heart if you break that promise, Hector." she said, letting her hand come to a rest on his chest, his heartbeat right beneath her palm.

He leaned forward, hoping his fragile heart can take all the bold decisions he was making, and then tightened his grip on her waist, pulling her closer, and with very minimal hesitation, he pushed further to the very top of her neck, and them placed a small, feathery kiss there.

It was a kiss of a man that did not realize that his naivety was probably the most attractive part of him. It was a kiss that had Queen Elvira forgetting her anger and her slight resentment, a kiss that further solidified his place in her heart.

It was the first ever kiss he had given her on his own volition and in his right senses, and she would cherish it forever. It was, after all, the first of many, she hoped.

Slowly, he leaned away from her, then watched her eyes slowly open as she only partly recovered from his much needed assault on her neck. A very gentle, sweet assault.

"I will not break it. That is a promise on its own." he assured, his voice only a whisper, yet it still managed to send chills down Queen Elvira's spine.

She nodded, still partly in a daze. He slowly released her and he immediately missed the way she had filled him up, and the way she seemed to complement him.

She felt that her thick clothes have become rather slim, and she felt unnaturally cold once he was not holding her anymore. It almost felt like they had both been in a spell and had just pulled out of it, but a barer, unsatisfied version of themselves.

He smiled down at her to relieve some of the awkwardness the tension had caused. She smiled back, then slowly, unwillingly walked away from him, feeling light, her fists clenched in a futile attempt to minimize the effect the encounter had on her.
