Chapter 11

HAZEL'S POV~

"Don't spill the tea until you have sailed across the sea."

We stared at each silently the whole time, not saying a word. I bit my lips as I observed his features, he looked even better than the last time I saw him. I could tell he was a buffer from his shoulders. His eyes stayed on my lips for a while before he looked away clearing his throat.

"Uhmm..." he cut the staring contest drawing back my attention to the situation at hand. "Let me rephrase that question, who sent you to steal that device at the club?"

" I don't work for anyone," I replied again, shrugging my shoulders.

"Who did you give the device to?" He asked staring directly at me, unaffected came my reply.

"No one," if he was frustrated, he was doing a good job at hiding it. I don't know where he was going with this conversation but this wasn't what I expected to talk about when I finally met him again. I was expecting a whole different set of questions with a tint of torture. "Why am I even here?" I muttered into the silent room.

" What happened at the club that night?" He asked out of the blue. I ignored it as I walked around the bed fixing the pillows.

I disliked the fact that everything here was bland and white with no touch of lively colors. I really couldn't remember the last time I slept in a place like this, it irked me. But who was I if not a hostage to complain? What was I going to say? Dear Mr kidnapper I need some color. I chuckled under my breath at that thought before turning to the Man behind me.

"Shouldn't you be asking, Ermanno that question?" I stated the obvious truth. I was sure Ermanno had shared his part of the ordeal. Oh, and of course with a touch of lies.

"He knows more than I can tell, besides I was guessing you already knew about it seeing as you took the trouble of finding me."

" Well, you wouldn't mind sharing your part of the story, would you?" He questioned me.

"Not until you tell me who you are and why I'm here?" I am not saying anything until I know what I'm up against. My years of training taught me to not spill the tea without knowing the sea.

" I am guessing it was about the Casino incident but seeing as you have not mentioned anything about it. I'm starting to get confused."

"...Me? You don't have to worry about knowing my darling. If any of that information is disclosed to someone like you then I will have no choice but to take you out," his voice filled the silent room. I thought about what he had just said, I knew he wasn't lying. I had my suspicions earlier but I brushed them off.

Pretending to not care I turned to him.

"Oh," I giggled amusingly. "You sure have your way with words. Are you the crime lord or something?" I was now sitting back on the bed applying the ointment I saw on the bed stand. I winched quietly, rubbing it on the bruises on my cheeks.

"Trust me, darling, you don't want to find out. I just want to know who you stole the device for," he replied putting his hands in his pocket. I observed that he has a very good posture, one that screamed power and confidence.

"I never disclose the identity of my clients," I replied, applying some of the ointment on her lip. It hurt like hell but I knew it was doing its work.

"Even with your life at stake?" He stated as if reminding me who was in control here. He had a point there but I wasn't afraid of death. There have been times when I longed for it and begged for it to come, but somehow it never does. "I'm not a patient man, Fiore, your silence is only making me angry. But for now," he added, rubbing his chin. "I will let you be since I have more important things to deal with. The next time I come into this room, things will not be this easy." with that, he walked out of the room leaving me in silence. I paced back and forth as I arranged my thoughts. I need to get out of here someway, somehow.

Deciding to observe this new environment before making any move, I stepped out of the room into the large hallway. I was surprised to see no one by the door, the whole place was quiet. I took careful steps towards my right until I came to a balcony that had two large staircases on either side of it. They both led to the down level. I took the right one with my bare feet scrunching against the cold tiled floor. The whole place was elegant from the huge chandelier at the center to its pristine floors and furniture. On one side of the room, posh leather couches were carefully arranged, and a dining room was on the other side of the room connecting to what I guessed is a kitchen. I headed towards the giant doors. This was my chance, silently I opened it stepping out to the front. I was hit by the cold breeze of the evening. It was dark outside but the compound was lit up by security lights. I took a dark part by the green lushes heading towards the huge gates. I paused as I saw some men standing by the gates.

Who was I kidding? It couldn't have been that easy. I stopped behind a pole waiting for them to move out. When it looked like they weren't moving anytime soon I turned, heading towards a tree at the other side of the fence.

I climbed the tree carefully stepping from onto a weak branch that sent me tumbling down to the ground. I groaned in pain as I grabbed my left hand, it hurt like hell. I used it to wedge the fall now it was broken. I rolled over to get up but paused when I heard the thumping of feet heading toward me. The guards standing by the gate came out, surrounding me.

"Shit!" I cursed out, unable to move my arm. I didn't want to go back to that house. I struggled against the two men that picked me up dragging me back to the house.

"Leave me the fuck alone you, Motherfuckers!" I cursed. "I swear if I finally leave this place, I will come hunting you all. All of you!" I screamed as they dragged me back. This time they weren't taking me back to the room I was held in but through a dark hallway that led to the basement. I paused my screams when I saw Jamie standing by a door with Tom and some other guy by his side. He had a sympathetic look as he opened the door, creating room for the men to take me inside.

"Let me go," I said, struggling to get out of their stronghold but hisses when I felt a sharp pain in my left hand.

"Wait, don't tie her hands backward," commanded the man who stood beside, Jamie, earlier. I was pushed into a chair, a rope was tied tightly around my waist supporting me with the chair.

"Leave us," he ordered when they were done. I watched in silence as the two men bowed before making their leave. Jamie avoided my eyes, I snorted at that.

If he felt bad then why am I still being kept here like a prisoner? As my eyes scored the dimly lit room, I realized this isn't just any room, it is an interrogation room. Torture materials sat on a table beside me, some of them were blooded meaning we were used not too long ago.

"I'm sorry about the inconvenience but you will have to stay down here for a while," apologized to the man as he gave me a small smile. I stared at him in curiosity taking in his features. The room was dark so I couldn't see clearly but the little I could make out I could tell he had black hair that highlighted his tanned skin making him even more attractive. His shoulders looked tense as he watched me, I had this look of curiosity as he watched me stare seemingly amused by my actions.

"I'm Matteo," he said. I knew he wanted a reply, maybe even an introduction but all I gave out was a blank stare. I need to find a way to get out of here as soon as possible, as if he read my mind he glanced at the watch on his wrist.

"The boss will be in some minutes."

Matteo that fucking prick, he sure is a sore loser. How could he still have been searching for me since that night? I sat patiently not speaking to either of the men in the room, not like I had to. Tom was being his usual stoic self, Jamie looked like he wanted to say something but was holding back whereas Mikhail just stood in front watching me with a curious gaze.

After some minutes the door was pushed open from the other side revealing the very face I'd been trying so hard to forget.
