Audrey's POV

"Audrey!" It was Simon who ran to me and there were bruises and wounds on his face and all over him with his cloth dusty and dirty.



"Tell me what's going on Simon? What's with the both of you? Why was he so upset? " I asked him already whimpering too.

And everyone was watching us.



He walked towards me as if one of his legs has broken..

"You can't date the both of us" He said and my eyes almost bulged out of the socket while my ears raised up like that of a rabbit.

Ok. Kyle Likes Me!



I stood there in shock, remembering everything that happened between Kyle and I and I tried to relate every moments we've spent together :- How he offered to help me at the restaurant, When he held my hands, smiled at me, sang for me when he told me he likes a girl, how he pecked me yesterday and I heard a bell in my head jingling:

"What If The Girl He Likes Is You? "



How could I have been so dumb not to have noticed?



"Oh no" I covered my mouth shockingly and ran to the class to meet Kyle or wherever he was.



"Audrey" Simon hopped after me.

All my effort to speak to Kyle proved abortive. It got to a time that he adjusted his desk and seat away from mine. Oh Please..



"Kyle, Please stop this and hear me out" I cried to him but he gave me deaf eyes and his eyes were still very red and teary.

We were also creating a scene as everyone paid their attention to us but I didn't care. All I wanted was my best friend back.

When I held his hand, he smirked and removed my hand from his.



"I said don't touch me, Don't talk to me! " He yelled at me and I whimpered the more.



"Audrey! " I looked up and found Simon in front of me.

"Come sit with me, Moreover, it was your initial seat " He said and Kyle looked at him with a look to kill while Simon maintained a sensible distance from him to avoid being hit again.

"Come Audrey" Simon said, I hesitated but he picked up my bag, my few books on the table and he took me to his seat with my glance focused on Kyle.



The class were making the loudest scream, murmurs, gossip, noise. I think Simon already gave them an hard warning because the girls couldn't even come to me or him.

I continued to stare at Kyle till he looked away and put his head on the desk.

The rest of the day was woeful and doleful as my mind was unsettled even when Simon tried consoling me.

The only question I kept asking myself was "What to do? "

I ran behind Kyle immediately school dismissed shouting:

"Wait up Kyle, let's talk and settle this out"

But he snubbed me..

A vehicle beeped behind me and when I turned around, I was so frightened and shocked to run off. The car was already close to me but consumed by fear... I don't even leave the road, I screamed and closed my eyes.



"What do you think you're doing?? " He pulled me away.

Simon.

That was when I opened my eyes and sighed in half-relieved.

"Simon" I muttered his name and embraced him.

Kyle has already gone far and he didn't bother turning back to look at me.. He doesn't seem to care whether I was hit by the car or not.



A car packed in front of us and I recognised it to be Simon's..

"Let's go together" He said and I nodded in confusion and as if I were sick.

He opened the door for me and I got in. Then he entered through the next door and the driver began to drive.



"He is never gonna speak to me" I sniffed severally before saying to Simon.



Simon's POV

"He's never gonna speak to me" Audrey tried to stop sobbing.



"He's never gonna speak to us" I said and wiped her tears with an handkerchief.



The fact that a guy made her cry makes me Jealous.

And it hurt me to the marrow of my bone that she didn't only hurt Kyle, We hurt him.



"I know that he's in love with you but I feel the same way for you too. I swear, I have nothing against him but I couldn't just sit and watch him... Mmm...Be with you" I confessed and she looked at me and shook her head.



"Simon, I really hope to get Kyle back to us. He is everything to me, He's more than a friend. You are too but... " She paused and I cut in and said..



"It's Okay"

It how you'll feel when someone really intimate to you, a very close friend 'Like a brother', suddenly ignores you. That way.



She was so downcasted and wasn't ready to talk or laugh or smile like she always do.

We sat in the car in silence till my driver got to the restaurant and immediately he packed the car in front of the restaurant, she alighted first and hurried into the Restaurant..

To see Kyle.



Audrey's POV

I opened the car door and rushed out of the car and bumped into the restaurant. At least, he should listen to me here. For crying out loud.

Please.



I bumped inside, as usual so many customers but it didn't bother me. I looked around for Kyle but I didn't see him.



"Vi-Vivian" I stopped right in front of her.



"Have you seen Kyle today? Where's he? " I asked her.



"Yes, he came and he left but ..." She paused and looked at me..

"But I think I over heard him telling Mrs Blakeston that he'll no longer work here" Vivian said.



"Huh, what?? " I exclaimed.

It hasn't gotten to this or has it?

He'll never ever talk to me again when we can easily sort it out



"Didn't he tell you? And why do you look so downcasted? " She observed.



"Are you serious about what you just said - About Kyle? " I asked to be sure.



"Yes. He didn't say a word to me or Felix. He walked in aggressively and left aggressively too. Did anything wrong happen between the both of you?" She asked me.



"Audrey" Simon called name again..

I turned to him and spoke faintly..



"He left, Kyle quit"



"Chill, Relax Audrey " He consoled and I nodded slowly.



"Be fine and go change your shirt" He said and added;

"I'll be waiting for you here"



I looked at him sickly before leaving - climbing the stairs and I almost felt like tripping.



I wore my pink shirt absentmindedly then I returned to the usual work.

I didn't feel like communicating with anyone. So I just walked to the table where he sat.



"What do you want? " I asked him like he were a stranger.



"Why are you doing this to yourself Audrey? "



"I don't know, I don't " I said and began to cry afresh.



Simon's POV

"You seriously need to stop this! " I snarled at her.



"What do you want? " She asked me again amidst tears.



"I've got no appetite" I said and she started to walk away.

When I noticed that she wasn't herself still and held her hand.



"Get your bag and let me drop you off" I said.



"What, it... It's not 7pm yet" She said.



"Yes but you can't work like this and even if you can, I don't want you to" He said and I managed to roll my eyeball then I removed his hand from mine and said "Leave me, I can"



He smirked:

"Vivian" He called her raised one his hands up, so she could easily see him and she came towards us..



"Audrey is ill, should I climb up the stairs my and get her bag or please will you do it for me? " I asked her..



"Okay.... I will get it" She said and left.

I was expecting nearly the opposite from her because I've never spoken to her politely before.



I pulled Adamant Audrey out of the restaurant..

Vivian returned to me with Audrey's backpack while we were already in the car and I thanked her perfunctorily.



"You make me feel dejected Audrey" I said to her and brought her head closer to lean on my shoulder.



She didn't say anything to me.

We didn't talk to each other throughout the rest of the journey to her house.

...And when we got to her place, I came down from the car at the same time with her.



As we stood in front of her house..



"You are really making me feel so dejected, It's just Kyle" I told her yet she didn't say anything instead tears continued to flow down her cheeks and I wiped them off my my fingers this time.



"Be fine" I said again and I wanted to draw her close to me -for a warm hug but she withdrew by taking my hands off.



"Good night Simon" She said leaving me behind.

I stood there heartbrokenly as I watched her walk into the house.
