Chapter 18
UNEDITED 🙈
He swallows. "Sure."
She takes him upstairs to the second floor. Her apartment was a studio, so there were no bedrooms, a kitchen, a little living area, and a queen-size bed.
She switches on the lights and takes the flowers he had given her earlier to a vase on her two-seater kitchen table. "Make yourself at home." She states.
He chose a lone red loveseat that she has accented with yellow throw pillows. He lays his arm on the backrest and stares at her while she was taking off her sandals. She sets them in the closet by the door and checks her mail on the counter. She had the cutest expression as she read, it had him unintentionally smiling.
She drops the letter suddenly and goes to the fridge where she pulls something out. When she turns around he realizes that it was a homemade chocolate cake with a burning candle in the middle.
"Surprise!" She shouts.
"Wow, is this for me?"
"I wanted to do something special for you passing that test." She sets the cake on the coffee table in front of him and sits across.
He stares at her in awe. She was not only adorable but sweet too. She made him feel indescribable.
"Blow out the candle and let's eat." She orders.
He outs the lit candle, but his concentration was on her and she seems to be oblivious to it.
She goes to the kitchen draw and pulls out a fork and comes back. She slices a piece of the gooey chocolate and feeds it to him. "Congrats... I'm really proud of you."
"Thank you." He takes the bite. "It's delicious." He then takes the fork and cuts a small piece but he doesn't use the fork to feed her. He picks up the cake with his fingers and inserts it in her on her tongue. He felt a shiver within him as his thumb glided on her lips. She felt something too he could tell. She gasps so subtly, the soft sound was like electricity coursing through him.
She clears her throat. "I should get us some plates." She quickly gets space between them trying to find plates. She knew where they were yesterday.
"Clair." He calls.
She turns and her widened eyes settle on him.
"Come here." He commands.
She freezes up. An alarmed like it rang in her head and the panic made her motionless.
"Please..." He tries asking.
She blinks.
"What's the matter?" He stands up and takes steps her way. "Why do you look so afraid? You put yourself in this predicament. You're alone with me...within four walls. Which means... you trust me... and I can't stop myself from kissing you anymore Clair." He reaches out, grasps onto her hand, and tugs her close to his frame.
She was petrified. She began shaking and her pace in breaths picks up. It was the unknown of it all. She didn't even know what she was feeling.
"You've never been kissed before, have you?" He whispers.
She looks away.
"It's okay." He cups her jaw and alines her eyes with his again.
Inexperience was usually a turnoff. He likes women knowing what they were doing. It made things more fun in his opinion. With Clair however, it was different, with her, it was pure satisfaction to know that he would be the only to taste her.
"Don't think about it." He lifts his hand to her neck and jaw and quickly slides his lips between hers.
A bomb went off in Clarissa, she has never felt such intense emotion of need and satisfaction at the same time. Her stomach tingled and flipped around like a dog doing tricks.
This new, almost indescribable, feeling made her want to do things she never wanted before.
She opens her mouth slightly and applies pressure back on his. Her hands curled around his wrist and her feet lifted to her toes attempting to get closer automatically. "Hmm." She whimpers.
His grip grows tighter but, in order to keep his control, he pulls back and presses his forehead against hers.
He has had many women but sexual attraction is all he felt towards them. With Clarissa, it was completely different. When she touched him, smiled at him even, it weakened his heart. He not only desired her but cared about her. It was odd for him. She was not his typical choice but she was his choice at the same time.
He smooths her hair back from her face before kissing her on the cheek gently... "This time when I kiss you, I want your tongue." He whispers.
She blinks. It was so stupid to be as grown as she was and so afraid of an intimate kiss but she couldn't deny that she wanted it.
Her eyes roll back in her head as he leans his head down into the crook of her neck and lays kisses. He kisses her collarbone and her shoulders. He inhales a deep breath of her scent like it was rejuvenation.
"What have you done to me?" He lifts his head and passionately divulges his mouth in hers. He backs her up to the nearest wall and continues his obsession. "Give it to me." He orders in between kisses.
"What?" She pants.
"Your tongue..."
She hesitates.
He decided he wouldn't push her, he was content with whatever she was willing to give him. The move seemed to make her comfortable because suddenly he feels her fingers curl around his neck and pull him as if he could get closer somehow.
His hands wrap around her body keeping her plastered onto him. The kiss gets deeper and deeper. He smothers her anywhere he could find free skin, and when he did come up for air it was to say. "I want you to be mine...Will you be mine? He didn't even realize that he was feeling this way. He just knew at this moment that she had to be his and only his and he didn't want anyone else.
In a trance-like state, she agrees. "Yes...I want to be yours.
Their passion continued for hours and in the morning when she opened her eyes she was laying on his chest. She gasps.
Things moved too quickly. They did not have sex but, they did roll around in the bed most of the night locked lips.
It all felt like a dream. A dream that was a nightmare in real life. She felt so much with him, that she lost herself and liked it. She realized instantly she was playing with fire. An unpredictable forest fire.
She gets off the bed and goes into the bathroom. While she brushed her teeth she thought about how she would end her 7-hour relationship. When she finished he was awake and sitting on the bed and had shoes on.
"Good morning." He stands. "I have to go...Family thing." He explains. "I'll just use your bathroom first.
Her heart slams for the six minutes he was in there. It was killing her. She didn't want to end things but she needed to. She didn't want a boyfriend. She didn't know what she was thinking. She had to get out before both of their feelings get deeper. When he comes out she nervously turns her back facing him and swallows.
"You okay?" He goes near.
She grew goosebumps when his hands slide around her waist and his chest connects with his back. It felt so good... too good. It scared her. She was losing control. "Wait." She pulls away. Full-on panic had set in. Megan mentioned his woman chasing attitude and even knowing this, she was still falling for him. She should have stopped this sooner. She should have never started this. She steps away and turns around to face him. "This is happening too fast." Her eyes scan around the ground unable to look him in the eyes. "This is too much for me."
His brows join. He felt gutted. How did he let himself feel so much? "Why?"
"Look." She holds up her palm and still couldn't look at him. "I'm not interested in a serious relationship."
He blinks back. Was he actually getting told this right now? "You're clearly a virgin. What is it that you're looking for?"
"Not this." She spins around to grab the door handle to let him out.
He grabs her wrist and tugs her back. "You're going to have to elaborate."
"I don't ever want to get married okay."
"Okay." He states in agreement. "When did I ask you? I don't want to get married either."
"That's good then... you should go now."
"Come here..." He pulls her into a hug. "Tell me why."
Being in his arms felt calming and it felt easy to just let it all just roll off her tongue. "My parent's marriage turned into hatred. They despised each other for so long I can't even remember when, or if, they were ever nice to each other. I think they stayed together for my siblings and me."
He pulls her head back from his chest. "You can't be afraid to be in a relationship based off of your parents."
Her mouth gets pouty. "No?"
No." He affirms. "If you don't want to get married then don't, but don't be afraid to let someone in."
"Honestly... I just never wanna live again what I lived...and if I ever have children I don't wanna give them the childhood I had."
"Then it won't happen." His soft gaze studies her. He caresses her face and hair lovingly. "Your childhood wasn't the best, was it?
"No." She shakes her head.
Unexpectedly he scoops her up and carries her to the bed where he lays down and sets her onto his chest. "Tell me everything."
"What about your family thing?"
"It can wait." He kisses her forehead.
