Chapter 68: The Uncomfortable Feeling of Being Watched...

George had her hitting the high notes again, then pulled out while she was still catching her breath. He flipped her over, threw her legs on his shoulders, and went in deep, like he was on a mission.

It was like he found some hidden treasure, always trying new things with her body. He kept switching it up, pushing her to the edge of her limits.
Just when she thought she couldn't take it anymore, about to pass out, he'd pull back, let her breathe, then dive right back in.

He kept at it until almost five in the morning. By then, she was so spent, her body couldn't even produce any more fluids, finally letting him finish.

Ellie was totally wiped out. She rinsed off and crashed on the sofa, not even waiting for George to clean up the mess. She was out cold in seconds.

When she finally woke up the next day, it was already noon. Her head was pounding, and she felt like she'd been through a war, not a night of passion.
When she tried to sit up, her waist and lower abdomen screamed in pain, and her legs felt like they belonged to someone else, totally ignoring her commands. She tried to move again but gave up, sighing in relief.

She turned her head and croaked out, "Ah... cough, cough..." Her throat was so dry, like she'd swallowed a bucket of sand.
She frowned, coughed a few times, and swallowed some spit. Just as she was about to call out again, his ringtone blared from the bedside table.

Could he have gone out? Ellie turned, wincing from the pain, and scooted to the edge of the bed to grab the phone. She brought it to her ear and hit the answer button.

"Hello?"

"Are you awake?" He knew she must've been up already since she answered so fast.

"Yeah, just woke up. You went out?"

"Yeah, had some unfinished business from yesterday, so I left this morning."
"Okay.. When will you be back?"
"I'm done already, just about to head home. So I called to see if there's anything you want to eat. I can pick it up on the way," George said as he opened the car door and got in.
Ellie frowned and thought for a moment, "I can't think of anything. I just woke up and don't have much appetite."
"Alright... I'll just get something I think is good."
"Okay."
"Alright then, I'll be home in at most half an hour."
"Mm-hmm."
After hanging up the phone, Ellie still forced herself to get up, then opened the drawer and took out the ointment George had bought that day, heading to the bathroom.
She was really thirsty now and couldn't wait for him to come back and pour her some water. Plus, she didn't dare wait for him to help her apply the ointment— it would be awkward and a bit scary...
Meanwhile, George had already started the car and driven out of the crime squad's parking lot. At the same time, he dialed the old director's number to report the current investigation results.
"So, the people we've caught so far are all Mr. King's men?"
"Yes," George frowned and replied, "I've checked Isaac's personal belongings, but found no clues. However..."
"However what?"
"However, I am certain that he knows me and is targeting me."
The old Director's heart skipped a beat, "Why do you say that?"
Naturally, George couldn't tell the old director about the message on the computer screen's background. He simply replied, "I can sense his provocation towards me, and it was him who went to find Mr. King. The setup was also his doing."
There was a two-second silence on the other end of the line. "So you're not in a rush to leave because you want to lure him out?"
"...One week. If he doesn't show up, I'll leave."
The old Director understood his character and sighed, "Alright, just be careful. I'll send someone to investigate Mr. King's side."
"Got it."
Half an hour later, George slowed down as he prepared to turn into the community. As he turned the wheel to enter, his chest tightened momentarily, and he glanced at the rearview mirror.
Just past eleven, there weren't many pedestrians on the road. The shops nearby were as usual, quiet and deserted, with a few motorcycles parked on the sidewalk near the road. A few vehicles behind him were driving leisurely down the road. Everything appeared normal...
He frowned and looked away, freeing a hand to touch the back of his neck.
That feeling of being watched was very unsettling, and he had felt it ever since he searched Isaac's residence...
