Three days later.

Monday.

'' I recognize my mistakes, and I deeply regret them. I broke things off with your cousin, dedicated myself to work, and now I have a thriving business. But I never stopped thinking about you. I want to make amends. Please come back with me.

'' You're joking, Thiago. '' I stared at him, speechless. ''You cheated on me with my own cousin, blamed me for the betrayal, and now you turn up here expecting me to come back to you? Have you gone mad? Did you eat shit? "He sighed.

''I'm sorry, Isa. Doesn't that count for you? "His audacity was truly incredible.

''You've got to be kidding me,'' I said, not believing it. ''You came here, in my town, acting like a king, thinking I'm going to get back with you? Did you eat shit? What we had in the past is in the past, buried deep in my subconscious.

He grabbed my hand, surprising me with his act.

"I made a bad mistake with you, Isa. I wasn't mature enough, but I'm truly sorry. I realized that I still love you; I always have. '' He put my hand on his cheek. '' Please give me another chance. I'll prove to you that I've changed. I'll do anything to make you happy. Furthermore, I can get you out of this town. I have enough resources now; I can give you everything you want.

Hearing that filled me with anger. Has he always loved me? He humiliated me, and now he just wants me to drop everything and go back to him.

'' Let go of my hand. '' I asked, with cutting coldness.

''Isa, please. I love you... '' He barely had time to finish his sentence before I slapped him across the face with a force that made the sound echo through the cafeteria.

He was shocked by my reaction, but his expression soon turned icy.

''Who is it? ''His question left me confused.

'' Who's what? '' He grabbed my arm tightly. '' Here, let me go!

'' Who's the guy? You loved me; you were crazy about me. If you're refusing me so much, there must be a guy in the middle. Who is he? Have you had sex with him? '' His aggressiveness scared me, but he was no match for Alessio.

"What if I have? What's the problem? You're nothing to me; I don't owe you any satisfaction. '' I said, trying to stay calm.

He squeezed my arm even harder, and, enraged, I slapped him across the face again, making him finally let me go.

'' Tom! '' I shouted for him, who quickly appeared with Sophia.

''Isa, what happened? ''They both ran over to me, worried.

''Is that him? ''We looked at Thiago, who was staring at Tom furiously. ''Is he the man you left me for? Is he the reason you don't want to get back with me? "His question left me dumbfounded.

''Get out of here. ''Tom approached him menacingly. ''If you don't want to be arrested for assault, you'd better get out of here, you son of a bitch. '' The two of them stared at each other, but Tom was much bigger.

''You'll still be mine, Isabella. '' He left the cafeteria, leaving me shocked.

''Isa, are you all right? ''Tom asked worriedly, his eyes showing a mixture of concern and indignation. '' Who was that madman?

Sophia took me into her arms, her expression conveying unshakeable solidarity.

"It was my ex-boyfriend... He cheated on me with my own cousin. Now he's here, asking me to go back to him. '' My voice sounded firm, but inside I was shaking with anger and disappointment.

'' What a crazy guy! Should we go to the police? "Sophia asked, her eyes shining with unwavering determination.

'' No... I don't think he'll bother me anymore. I think. '' My voice was uncertain, and my heart was still racing from the threat he posed.

''If he shows up again, we'll go to the police and file a complaint. A foreigner comes to our city and acts like he's the king. He could get life imprisonment for that. '' Tom's voice sounded full of authority, his gaze as hard as steel.

I just hope Thiago really does leave me alone. Because if it goes on like this... I'll tell Alessio to get him out of this town. I didn't want to involve Alessio in this, but if I have to, it's the only way. Furthermore, I'm starting a new life; maybe I'll start dating soon. Why does he have to show up just now? Just when I'm starting to feel good, I'm wanted by someone who's always worried about me, wanting to know about my day. This unfortunate man comes to ruin my life.

Just seeing him makes a horrible movie play in my head-the moment I caught him in bed with my cousin. And now he comes out of hell to tell me he loves me. I'm not going to let him mess with me. I have my friends Gabi and Alessio by my side. Furthermore, I don't need to be stuck in the past; I need to move on and take a chance on this attraction and this desire for him.

I really hope that Thiago doesn't appear in front of me again.
