Chapter 31

Danielle Lexington
I saw Alan playing with Oscar and I felt so weird. In the bottom of my heart, it was the picture that I've always wanted. I looked down to the ground and tried to calm myself down.
I got up and walked to my dad's hospital room. He was confused to see me come alone and I sat on the chair beside his bed.
"Why did you call him here?" I asked.
"It's been 5 years, I think it's the right time for you to introduce Oscar to his father." He said and I sighed.
"I hate you."
"Why? He said he's going to take him away?" I turned to him disbelief and he smiled.
"He said that and he might-"
"He won't." My dad cut me.
"Dad, I bet he's capable of doing it. You know how much-"
"Ever since we lost everything, I've been doing a lot of bad things. Planning the revenge, killing people, beating up people and trying to get my shit together. I even trained you so hard so you can get yourself together and I've realized that I took your happiness away from you." He said as he sighed.
"I took a lot of things from you, Danielle. You shouldn't be carrying all the burden, but I decided to share it with you."
"I want to do something right for once in my life." He took my hand and tears started to pile up in my eyes.
"I want you to be happy, I think you need Alan in your life. He's Oscar's father after all, you can't separate them forever, Danielle. Oscar needs to know too and one day he will wonder who his dad is." He has a point though.
"I don't know about Alan."
"Give him a chance, I've been ignoring him for 5 years already. He's been trying so hard to find you and I kept it so well from him." I turned to him and I glared at him.
"This is my first time seeing you so nice." I hissed and he chuckled.
"He promised me that he will leave everything to be with you. He swore that he will make you happy and I believe that. So.. give him a chance, Danielle." He said and I sighed.
"I can't believe that you're siding on him after shooting a bullet to his thigh." I said and he chuckled.
"I want to rest.. you all should go out and eat. Take Oscar to eat cheesecake. I promised him already." He always spoiled Oscar and it's not good.
"Fine. Rest well.. and I will stay here tonight." I said and he shook his head.
"I have guards, are you blind?" He pointed at his 3 guards and I rolled my eyes.
"Okay then old man."
"The maid already cleaned your room, you should go stay at the mansion." He said and I nodded. I kissed his cheek and walked out from his room. I went to the toilet to touch up my makeup. I called Daisy to have our chauffeur pick us up.
I walked to where Alan and Oscar is and Oscar is sleeping in Alan's arms already. I walked to him and sat beside Alan. I kissed Oscar's cheek and I turned to Alan.
"I want to go out and find something to eat, you want to come?" I asked and Alan nodded. I got up and he got up slowly. We walked out from the building and I already had my chauffeur waiting. He opened the car door for us and I told him to drive us to my favorite Italian restaurant.
I took Oscar from Alan and put him on my lap. I kissed his cheeks and held his hand.
"I love him already." Alan said in a small tone. I turned to him and I nodded.
"He looks like you and it's impossible for me to forget about you." I said as I turned to Oscar.
"You settle down in Santorini now?" He asked.
"We love it there, especially Oscar. He loves being near the sea." I said.
"Okay."
"Don't tell me.." I turned to him and he nodded.
"I don't have anything left, Danielle. My dad's in prison along with my mom. They hate me and I don't know how to cope with my life anymore. I keep my sanity just to find you." That made me turn to him.
"You're not the only one who's struggling." He added and I was speechless. I thought he would be doing just fine. He has everything why he would be suffering.
"I hope you don't try to push me away again because I don't know what I will do if you push me again, especially not letting me see Oscar."
"You can see Oscar, don't worry. I will let him know that he has a dad. He's been missing out a lot for the past 4 years of his life so.."
"Not only him but you too. I want to have you in my life." He said and I looked at him don't know how to answer that statement.
"Can we both just forget what happened in the past?" He asked. Suddenly Oscar opened his eyes and he sat up looking at the both of us.
"Go back to sleep again, baby. Did I wake you up?" I asked as I smiled at him.
"Where are we going?" He asked but his eyes were looking straight to Alan.
"We're going to eat."
"Dad will come right?" I was surprised to see him calling Alan dad already. I turned to Alan and he nodded to Oscar.
"Okay." Oscar said as he leaned his body to me.
"Dad promise me that we will go to the toy store.." Oscar said.
"Can I go with him, mom?" He asked.
"Okay." I answered.
"Thankyou." Alan said and I turned to him nodding. Suddenly Oscar crawled to Alan and hugging him tightly. It broke my heart knowing that he really need his dad around.
