Chapter 60

Hades still can't believe what was happening, Melecient showed up out of nowhere then what the hell is going on. Why does she want to destroy us both that well in fact he had not yet spent the days she had given him? He doesn't believe her from the start.

'Hades," a deep voice called out of nowheres, Hades roamed his eyes to search for that owner of voice and slowly a wisp of silver grey smoke curled and danced their way through the air, the bitter gusts of winter wind that howled around him seeps through his skin. The weather from was far different from the outside, he was in an old abandoned house from where he should meet Eris. And there he saw Eris standing near the stairs, smiling at him.

'Eris," he muttered under his breath, and an icy chilly fog come out from his breath.

'I know why you are here Hades," he said and snap his fingers and a black wooden chair came out of nowhere.

'Take a sit," he gestured, and I immediately obliged.

'What's happening?" I asked I can't wait to get an answer, it will put Lissana in danger if I don't take an action and I will blame myself if she will get hurt.

'Melecient happened," he answered sharply, and his eyes were raging in anger.

'Melecient already knows the whole truth, and this is all what I have been waiting for Hades, please take care of my daughter. I know you will do everything for her. Her ring will guide you both in safety but that will not last long, her powers were too strong, We can beat her but that option was way too complicated and you will not like it," he stated looking deep through my eyes.

Eris had the eyes of dove feathers, the ones with a hue so softly grey that they could have been pencil drawn. They had that look of birds flying on sunlit days, the shine and quick movement, yet relaxed, purposeful, at ease. His eyes reminded him of ashes and smoke blowing in the wind earlier. That was his soul.

'I will take care of her till my last breath Eris, I lose her once and I will not let that happen again," I said with determination.

'Melecient is powerful, even more powerful than before. She's not afraid to get down on her thrown being a deity. That is why we should be careful. But I had everything planned Hades that is why I called you here," there was sadness in his eyes upon saying those words.

I could sense that this conversation will be the right choice, but doing the right things is hardest option.

'Right at this day there is an angel talking to her," Eris said and my heart skips a beat, I know where this is going.

'No, no, it can't be," I breathe, I could nearly hear my heart beat. Just stepping on this conversation makes my breathing rapid and shallow. I can feel my pulse pounding in my temples.

Now only silence lingers in the air.

No one ever dared to talk.

We can only hear our breathing.

The inky darkness engulfs the frail light coming from this room.

'What's the plan?" I broke the silence and look through his eyes.

'There is an advantage and disadvantages, upon taking Melecient down it will also affect Lissana. Her life contract in this world will breach but she will not die unlike the reaper said-," he stated and it shock me.

'Reaper?"

'She had a name," he answered, and I can't even find words on my mouth.

'B-but why? How did that come?"

'Helena her mother killed her, Hades. But I doubt that was Helena because she was supposed to be dead by that time. Someone entered her body, a lost soul who is seeking for vengeance, but I know that was on purpose. I was there, I healed her and by that time a reaper saw me, my daughter is asking for help, someone who could help her, she was wearing the ring Hades and can't resist my daughter, I know it was God's fate but that was my daughter, I want her to live," it shocked me to see a deity crying in front of me, they have after all an emotion, a feeling. I see pain in those eyes. His emotional pain seeps out in his words and it hurts to hear them.

I wanted to be sarcastic because I somehow I am now talking to my father-in-law.

'Don't even think you have my blessing, Hades, I am not your father-in-law," he said his eyes were piercing looking through my eyes. I nearly forgot that he can read my mind.

'I was just thinking if I could slip this time," I said making a peace sign but he just through me his death glare, he is a deity how could he do that?

'Shut up, you're just an immortal, I can perish you at any moment," he growled and I just zip my mouth.

'So as I was saying we could kill Melecient but that will result Lissana's memories to vanish and you will be back to the dessert for hundred years but you will be back I know for sure of that. And if we don't take an action, there will be death, the reaper will collect her and she will not be back again. A dead person will always be a dead one, there is no chance of healing her even if I am a deity."

'Her memories? You mean she will not remember me? She will totally forget me?" I said, and there was a hint of sadness in my voice. Thinking Lissana will forget my face, my voice, me, hurts me. In order to save her, she will forget me. This is an endless pain and in the end I will be thrown in the desert again, seeking for mercy.

'Don't worry about it, I'm here. I'll be watching you," he said, seems reading my thoughts.

'So what's our plan?"

'Don't shoot until you can see the whites of their eyes."
