Unknown POV
After the big revelation of Eva being Louisa and Emily, the supposed dead girl being alive, things changed.
The Montero's had peace for a while since Skyler was still on her trip, Emily was starting to enjoy living with her new family, everybody pretended to be happy but they all knew that war was coming but they didn't know when.
Eva also had the time to plan everything but planning isn't always plotting.
"You are back." Eva forced a smile to welcome her favorite villian.
"Yeah, I am, you missed me?." A sly smile was visible on her face.
"You wish." She rolled her eyes playfully.
"So, how was your trip?."
"Quite boring without you but I tried to enjoy myself, I had to come back because I have a lot of things to finish."
"Like what?." Eva questioned innocently as she sipped her coffee.
"You don't need to bother about it."
"Okay."
"Have you been checking up on Emily?"
"Ummm...not really."
"She's not at her apartment."
"Maybe she got tired of being an introvert."
"That doesn't even relate, so she hasn't contacted you?."
"No, you are closer to her than I am, why would I be the first person she would call?." Eva said with a shrug hoping it would convince Skyler and it did cause now Skyler poured herself a cup of coffee and changed the subject.
"Speaking of people that haven't contacted me, I haven't heard from Alex for a while," Skyler said thoughtfully.
"Called him yet?"
"No, he might be busy and he would have dropped by while I was away. Seen him by any chance?" Skyler was asking suspicious questions watching Eva's reaction throughout the process.
"No he didn't drop by, haven't seen him" Eva answered with a shake of head.
"That's strange, maybe he's with his abomination Petra" Eva fists clenched when she heard her sister being called an abomination.
"That's a vague suspicion Skyler, it's far from possible after what he said about her on television..... You should call him to know the truth".
"I think I'll do just that," Skyler said, bringing her phone out of her bag, dialing Alex's number and putting it on loudspeaker.
"Hey honey, I was afraid you won't pick up".
"Hi babe, are you back from your trip?" Alex said from the other end of the line.
"Yes yes, I have missed you and Eva so much but it seems like you're the only one who didn't miss me you never left a call".
"I dropped by last week but I didn't see you home. I saw only Eva, didn't she pass the message?" Skyler looked straight into Eva's soul from across the kitchen table, Eva's eyes were filled with shock and fear.
"She did, she did. How could I forget about that? You dropped by last Thursday right?"
"Yes babe, I'm glad she told you"
"I'll be seeing you soon Alex, real soon" The coldness in her tone sent chills through Eva's body and Alex felt it too from the other side of the call.
"Babe what do you mean-" Skyler hung up, cutting him short. She looked at Eva for a while before approaching her slowly, drawing a line with her nail on the kitchen table as she prowled towards Eva.
"So who's lying between the two of you?" The coldness had intensified.
"I....... I....... Skyler it's not what you think".
"Maybe the two of you are just confused liars who were oblivious of my camera I used in watching all your moves and cunning acts........ I'm disappointed in you Eva I took you as a sister" The pain I'm Skyler's voice was evident because she was near tears now.
"I had to do it Sky, it's time you stop please just end all of this..... I never took you for a villain you never were.......... So why now? Why Petra of all people?" Eva asked, crying.
"You only say those words because she's your sister, imagine a nobody coming from nowhere to steal everything you've suffered to build from scratch and tell me if you wouldn't take the same steps I did" Skyler was still walking towards her making Eva back up.
"There's another way to do this, revenge is not the only way".
"If there is then tell me my friend, that's why you're my friend right? To help me in my dire time of need, tell me how can I solve Alex's mistake and what would I do about Petra's pregnancy?" Skyler asked, reaching her hand to Eva with tears in her eyes. Eva hesitated for a minute but when she saw how serious Skyler was about repentance she walked into Skyler's arms hugging her with the hope of comforting her.
"Hey it's going to be okay, stop crying Skyler we'll figure-" Eva gasped as she felt a sharp pain from her left abdomen, she looked at Skyler's face and saw she was smiling devilishly as she withdrew the bloody pen knife from Eva's stomach.
"Do you think you and your bitch sister will be forgiven just like that?" Skyler asked, laughing evilly. Eva fell to the floor bleeding profusely from her wound, she felt herself growing weaker by the second and soon she'll black out.
"Why........ Sky....... Why? I thought......... We....... were sisters" Eva managed to say mid gasps.
"Awwwnnnn, we were until you betrayed me with YOUR REAL SISTER!!" Skyler kicked her bleeding stomach making Eva wince in pain, Skyler kicked her repeatedly until she saw Eva was no longer moving.
"You would have been my favorite....... You WERE my favorite person in the world until you showed me you didn't deserve any of my love or kindness!!" She spat on Eva's dead body.
"One down three to go......that slut Petra is next" Skyler exited the kitchen, went upstairs to pack her remaining things, loaded it in her car and drove off to her hideout to plan her next moves because the police would be searching for Eva's murderer.
After she heard the car speed out the driveway Eva opened her eyes with a loud groan, playing dead was her best option but it wasn't the least painless, she was still bleeding and if she didn't get to the hospital soon she'll die. Eva crawled to her phone in the sitting room leaving a trail of red behind her, she dialed Alex's number.
"Hello Eva what's up?"
"Skyler......stabbed........im bleeding...... Help please" Eva fell unconscious for real this time.
"EVA!! HELLO!!" Alex shouted from the other side of the phone but got no response, he rushed out of his office leaving his board members dumbfounded that his PA would handle the later interrogation that would come from them right now he has to save Eva. Alex called Liam when he was finally out of his company building.
"Liam, I want you to go to my house right now to protect Petra and Emily. Skyler attempted to kill Eva and I'm on my way to take her to hospital but I have a feeling Petra is next" Alex spoke with a tone of urgency which Liam understood well.
"Jesus Christ she has gone psycho-crazy-killer on this issue, I'll drop by your house soon, im at a conference which will be ending soon.... I'll be there in like an hour".
"Liam!! This is a matter of life and death. Can't you leave there quicker than that?".
"I'll do my best bro now you gotta go save Eva" He hung up, Alex drove faster than usual crossing the 80mph speed limit and this attracted a police patrol car, Alex led the race right up to Skyler's driveway.
"Why were you speeding sir? Hey!! Stop right there" One of the officers shouted as soon he saw Alex running into the house.
"Come help me officer, my sister in law has been wounded" Alex pleaded, they followed him inside and helped him carry Eva's unconscious body into the back seat of Alex range rover Evoque. The police officers escorted Alex to the hospital as well hoping to get the full story on what happened.
"How is she doing doc?" Alex asked when he saw the doctor after waiting for what seemed like forever for the diagnosis.
"She has lost a great deal of blood but a pint or two will replace the amount lost, luckily for her she doesn't have a rare blood type and we have some in our blood bank".
"Thank goodness, thanks doc" Alex said in relief, the doctor left Alex and the two police officers alone and that was when he told them about Skyler and her evil revenge plot.
"Your wife needs protection sir, we have a killer on the loose" Said one of the policemen.
"She's my wife actually and yeah I know that that's why I sent my buddy Liam to my house right now".
"What if Liam is working with your killer ex?" asked the other officer.
"I've known Liam for years, he's my brother even-".
"Legally he's not your brother, look I know you can swear with your life about his loyalty but going with facts here the police are the only people you can trust right now" They had a point but they were being annoying about it.
"So what do you suggest I do now officer" Alex drew the "officer" to spite them and it worked brilliantly.
"I never knew rich people had problems, you people always act as if you don't have shit coming out your ass too" The officer with blonde hair looked younger than his superior, he had a sharp mouth.
"Apparently we do that's why we pay taxes so that people like you can clean it up our shit" Alex said arrogantly.
"Oh yeah? Well-".
"The best thing to do is to put your wife to be and every other person your ex might be coming for under close surveillance and of course the police will be close by when anything strange occurs" The other officer cut his junior short in his retort.
"it's good to see some people still dedicated to doing the right things at the right time..... Unlike some others" Alex said with an irritating glance at the blonde haired policeman.
"We'll take our leave to report this in, please stop by the station soon to fill us in on the remaining details of today's happenings. Good day to you sir and goodbye" With that they gave a subtle salute and exited the waiting room leaving Alex alone to his thoughts.
'What has gotten into Skyler? Why did she stab Eva? Had she found out about Emily? How could she-' Alex's thoughts were interrupted by the emergence of a nurse in white and blue, she stopped and looked at Alex with admiring eyes before she shook her head as if she was phasing back into reality.
"Mr Alex Montero?... The patient requests to see you" The nurse took another look at him before going, Alex entered the room Eva was admitted in.
"Hey Eva, how are you feeling?" Alex asked worriedly, Eva managed a small smile.
"Lucky for me I come from a strong bloodline so stabs like this won't end me just like that".
"How did this happen?".
"She knows Alex, she knows it all. She has cameras hidden in different places so she had been watching us the whole time and the trip was a lie too, I'm not sure Skyler left the city for any manicure/spa vacation".
"That mean she knows where Petra is and that Emily is staying with us?" Alex asked in surprise, this news shocked him more than the murder attempt.
"Yes Alex that's what I'm saying, after stabbing me she said one down three to go that means she's coming for Petra next then you before Emily"
"I've told the police about the dilemma and they promised 24/7 surveillance and security till Skyler is apprehended but we have to keep an eye out for her" Alex checked his watch, one hour must've gone by by now.
"You're a strong girl Eva, you should be proud of yourself, right now just get some rest and let the doctor do his work. I need to get back home to your sister" Alex stood up and grabbed his coat about to leave.
"Alex, please promise me you will let nothing happen to my sister........ Please" Eva pleaded with tears in her eyes.
"I swear to the heavens I will protect her, rest well Eva" He patted her arm and exited the ward in a hurry, he called Liam on his way out.
"What's the update Liam?".
"No sign of Skyler yet, I got here fifteen minutes ago" Liam responded from the other end.
"Okay, I've told the police about this and they are going to be on guard.... I'm on my way to the station to make a proper report. Please take care of my pet".
"No problem Alex, you better get here fast because she's demanding to see you".
"Tell her I'll be there soon" Alex hung up the call, avoided the eyes of the creepy nurse and greeted the doctor on his way out. A war has just begun, a terrible bloody war and he knows better than anybody that Skyler will not go down without a fight.
