Chapter 33
“Alright take care," I said waving to my best friend Kate as I was about to enter the cab I just flagged down.
“And you too and don't forget to help me with my psychology assignment," she said with a wide smile as she left and I shook my head before getting in the cab.
Silly girl.
“Good day Miss. Are you set?" The cab driver said from the front seat.
“Yes thank you and a very good day to you too." I smiled and the man nodded before driving off.
“Mmm," I let out a soft sigh as I relaxed my back head properly on the chair with my head tilted a little bit to the right window.
My head was clear from all thoughts as I gazed upon the environment through the window opening until I remembered what happened earlier in the day when someone was spying on me.
I wondered who that person was and I was still feeling a bit worried about that.
“Mmm," I let out another soft sigh, adjusting my head away from the window so it aligned straight.
“Do you mind if I put on some music?" The cab man asked, maybe seeing I looked troubled.
“No I won't mind," I replied and I could see him smile from the back view.
Turning on his CD player the vehicle was soon filled up with sweet, cool country love music and gradually my mind became more relaxed and that's when Damon's beautiful face flashed before my eyes and a soft smile formed on my cheeks as I remembered all the beautiful memories I have shared with him even though it's little... However, a sad look gradually replaced it when I remembered the last thing he said to me when I asked if I would see him again.
‘Probably not.'
Those words really hurt more than I thought it would and I find myself missing him so much.
Did he really mean what he said? I wish I could see him again....

“Why?" Damon asked.
“Because I am in love with you," Amelia said but quickly covered her mouth out of shock of what just came out of her.
“I..I didn't mean to say that." She said afterwards in a stutter.
Damon smiled softly then withdrew from her. He went back to where the bottle of wine was and sitting on the large stool he filled his almost empty cup up.
Meanwhile Amelia tried to use this time to compose herself. She was cursing and swearing inside her for saying those words out to Damon and she wondered what he would be thinking of her now. She had to try to fix the mess and misunderstanding she just created.
She wasn't in love with him, she is in love with her boyfriend, Dominic. At least that's what she was telling herself.
”What I meant to say is that I care about you. I mean I am very grateful to you for saving my life when I was bitten by that deadly vampire and that's the reason I wanted to make sure you are safe," she said trying to explain herself.
Damon took his eyes to her. “You don't need to explain yourself to me." He said then stood up straight.
“But you need to be mindful of what you say, especially considering the type of boyfriend you have." He gave out a sort of wicked smile.
“What type of boyfriend do I have?" Amelia asked.
“You know, the grumpy and jealous type." Damon said.
“Dominic isn't grumpy," Amelia said and Damon chuckled softly.
“If you say so." He said then sipped from his glass and she couldn't take her eyes from his sweet, reddish lips.
Amelia was suddenly feeling uncomfortable staying with Damon. Her heart was racing inside her chest and she didn't understand what exactly was happening to her but she knew it was no good.
“I need to leave," she said and proceeded to walk to the door and when she got to the door she...
“Wait."
Amelia stopped immediately, like her legs had been frozen still when she heard Damon's voice. Then she heard his footsteps approaching until he was standing just at her back.
She could smell that sweet, fragrance of a scent. It made her feel weak to the knees.
“Why did you stop me," she said and for some reason she was afraid to turn around to face him not out of fear of him but of fear of her own desires.
“I am not stopping you. You are free to leave but hope you have a way to get past the night walkers," he said and that's when Amelia realized the dangers that awaited her outside the moment she opened that door. She had totally forgotten about the vampires and that she is very far from home.
“Well I am sure you will find a way. You are a wolf after all," he further stated then Amelia heard fading sounds of his footsteps and his sweet scent began to fade away.
Turning around she saw that Damon was already on his way to the bedroom. “Can I stay here for the night, please." She said and he paused his steps.
“It's already dark. I can't go out there. Please allow me to stay here tonight."
“I didn't remember telling you to leave," Damon said before he walked into the bathroom...

Location: Council of The Red Blood
The high and powerful vampires of the city once again gathered together for a meeting and Lord Cassius was the one addressing them on behalf of the five leaders as usual.
“My brothers, I believe we are moving in the right direction in the way we are running the affairs of this city. Lake Hill will continue to be our home_" Lord Cassius was speaking before he was rudely interrupted which is a really shocking thing considering the penalty of disrespecting the Five leaders which is death.
“I am afraid it won't be our home for too long," the voice said in the midst of the crowd and everyone gave way as Elisha emerged and alongside him was James.
“How dare you interrupt his Lord while he speaks?" One of the vampires present there said already in a mood to slip blood.
“I mean no disrespect to my Lord but what I am here to say is very important to waste time for pleasantries and formalities," Elisha said, sounding proud and unafraid.
“You should know your boundaries Sir Elisha," Lord Cassius spoke with a slight frown.
“Do forgive me my Lord but permit me to speak," Elisha said, bowing slightly.
Lord Cassius studied him for a while: “Ain't you supposed to bring that wolfman, Damon before the council? Where is he?"
“That's why I am here, my Lord. I have lost eight brothers of mine because of this mission," Damon spoke with a hurtful and angry expression on his face.
“I do not get what you trying to say," Lord Cassius said, because he thought Elisha was exaggerating the number he made mention.
“Eight of my men met their end at the hands of that monster. He killed all of them," Elisha made clear and there was a shocked gasp that echoed around the hall and murmuring sounds soon followed.
“Do you know what you are saying? What type of wolf can take on eight vampires?" Lord Cassius said and he was in disbelief.
“Permit me to speak my Lord," James said and Lord Cassius gave him a nod.
“I was there and the sight was a truly terrifying one. He had all of them torn apart the way a butcher pieces his meat," he said and there was a brief expression of fear and worry that appeared on Lord Cassius's face.
“Are you sure he had no help?" Lord Cassius asked and Elisha answered him.
“No my Lord but that's not even the most terrifying thing about it all. My bite had no effect on him whatsoever."
Lord Cassius's eyes widened out and the expression of fear and worriedness became more prevalent on his face as he pounded what sort of wolf could be as powerful as the wolf Elisha was narrating to him.
Elisha continued speaking: “My lord just imagine the wolves should attack us with this wolf as their leader? We might just end up losing everything we have worked so hard for."
“There is no way I am going to let that happen," Lord Cassius said and he had an angry frown.
”Permit me to speak my Lord," a voice came forth from the crowd and Tristan stepped out.
“Do speak," Lord Cassius gave him permission.
“I have said it before here that this wolf strength shouldn't be underestimated but my words weren't taken seriously. I have told you people this is no ordinary wolf. Never in my life have I felt such power that he possesses and that's why I strongly advise we do not rush or force another confrontation with him we might end up losing more vampire brothers," Tristan said.
“You are wrong, delaying will only make the situation worse and also give the wolves a chance to launch an attack on us. I suggest we strike this wolf with all of our strength. Every single vampire should be involved in this fight," Elisha said, clearly not supportive of Tristan's idea.
Lord Cassius took some time to ponder over what the both men had said but he still couldn't decide yet on who's idea was better.
“A moment, I will have to consult with my fellow elders. I will be back to give our verdict until then though the meeting is adjourned." Lord Cassius said then he as well as the other four leaders of the council withdrew into a private chamber away from the eyes and ears of the rest.
