[Jade’s pov]

I sat in the backseat of the car, feeling the weight of exhaustion settle upon me after a long day. As I leaned back, my senses suddenly jolted to life when a strange and unsettling scent filled the air. It was like nothing I had ever experienced before, and it sent shivers down my spine making me immoveable.

I couldn't identify its source but it was enough to render me immobile, like a deer caught in the headlights. Before I could process what was happening, the car door flung open and a towering scary looking burly figure loomed before me. Fear gripped me as I looked into his intimidating, frightening eyes. I tried to move, to escape, but it was as if the strange scent had taken away all control over my body.

The man's stern face softened slightly as he saw my distress, and he assured me that he meant no harm. Despite his words, my heart pounded wildly, uncertain if I could trust him. Why was he here? Who was he? And why did my gut feeling tell me to become vulnerable in front of him? What did he want from me? Questions swirled in my mind, but I could do nothing but listen as he spoke.

"I won't hurt you," he said with a deep, commanding voice that both reassured and unsettled me. He explained that he had noticed my distress and had come to help. It was hard to believe him, but there was something in his demeanour that made me think he might not be as dangerous as he appeared.

Summoning all my courage, I managed to do a shaky nod, suspicious of any of his assistance in this peculiar situation. With his strong grip, he pulled me out of the car, and as I wanted to distance myself from the strange scent, the paralysis slowly faded away. I still felt wary, but I began to believe that he truly meant no harm.

As we stood there, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this man than met the eye. I wanted to demand answers, to know why he was there and how he knew about the strange scent, but something told me to hold back. Perhaps it was his promise not to hurt me or the genuine concern in his eyes.

With a mix of apprehension and curiosity, I finally gathered the courage to ask, "Who are you, and why were you here? What do you want from me?” He glanced around, seeming to weigh his response carefully, before meeting my gaze again. "I'm someone who looks out for others, especially someone who is mine. And as for why I was there, well, that's a long story."

His words left me with even more questions, but in that moment, I decided to trust him, at least for the time being. The mysterious man had pulled me out of the strange situation, and for now, that was enough.

As I stood there, trying to make sense of the enigmatic man's presence and the strange scent, I had an overwhelming urge to connect with my own wolf. It was a bond we shared, an unspoken understanding that had always guided us. I closed my eyes and reached out mentally, seeking my wolf's familiar presence.

However, to my surprise, as I reached out, I didn't feel the connection with my wolf. Instead, I found myself entangled in a different mind – the mind of another wolf. I knew that things fucked up, my mind got linked with that man's wolf. The sensation was unexpected and disorienting, leaving me momentarily bewildered.

In my subconscious mind, I noticed a silver-furred wolf emerge from the shadows. His eyes locked onto mine with an intensity that sent a shiver down my spine. That was Kaldir's wolf, I was certain now about that man, the realisation hitting me like a bolt of lightning. Our minds had inexplicably linked, and it left me feeling exposed yet strangely connected.

Kaldir's wolf padded closer, his movements graceful and deliberate. He circled me in my head, his eyes never leaving mine, and I could sense a mix of curiosity and recognition in his gaze. It was as though he could see deep into my soul, understanding parts of me that I hadn't even fully grasped myself.

I hesitated, unsure of how to react to that connection which felt like he was my mate. My instincts told me that this bond wasn't meant to be simple, that it was somehow a mistake, but there was also an undeniable allure in the connection we shared. I felt a pull towards him, as though some invisible force wanted us to be together.

Just as I was trying to process these conflicting emotions, Kaldir himself stepped forward, breaking our gaze. His warm smile washed away any apprehension I felt, and before I knew it, he had gently scooped me up in his arms.

My heart pounded wildly as I found myself pressed against his strong chest, feeling the rise and fall of his breath. It was an intimate embrace, and I could feel the energy coursing between us. The bond with his wolf had somehow brought us closer, and it was both exhilarating and terrifying.

"Kaldir," I whispered, not sure what to say or how to react.

He leaned in, his breath brushing against my ear as he spoke softly, "Jade, I never expected this connection between us, but I can feel it too. There's something powerful here, something we can't ignore."

His words sent a rush of emotions through me, and I couldn't deny the intensity of the bond we shared. But there was also a part of me that felt guilty, as if I were betraying Nyla by allowing this connection to form with another wolf.

As I wrestled with my conflicting feelings, Kaldir gently lifted my chin, his eyes locking onto mine once again. "Let's explore this together, Jade," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. "We can figure out what it means and how it came to be. I promise, I won't let anything happen to you."

His unwavering support and the promise of protection offered me some comfort amidst the uncertainty. With a mix of trepidation and curiosity, I nodded in agreement, knowing that our destinies were now somehow intertwined. As we embarked on this uncharted path, I couldn't help but wonder what fate had in store for us and how this newfound bond would shape our lives.
