Along the way inside of the cab, I thought of calling Claire but I kicked against it when I remembered her words earlier this morning.
I can’t believe I have been this foolish for five years. Five wasted years of my life. All for nothing.
“Mam we are here!”. The cab driver said with a pitiful look on his face.
“Thank you!”. I paid him and got out of the car. Luckily enough for me, I am in the urban side of the city. So there is no line at the club. I entered the club and went straight to the bar.
“Welcome Mam, what can I offer you?.” A handsome bartender came to attend to me.
“Give me the strongest drink you can mix!.” I ordered. From the look on his face, I am very sure that he is used to this kind of order all the time.
In no time, the bartender offered me a drink which I gladly took a large sip from.
“You are so stupid Lisa! So so stupid!.” I mentally screamed at myself as I drank everything In the mug at once.
“Another one bartender!.” I ordered.
I can’t believe I used a thousand dollars to get him a ring. Money I have been saving for my new apartment. Now it is all gone to waste.
I cussed the day I met Kelvin.
How I wish I had listened to Claire when she warned me about Kelvin. I allowed my foolishness to blind me and now this is what I get in return.
“Another glass!”. I ordered.
“I think you have enough already!.” The guy sitting next me said.
“What is your business with how much I drink?.” I fired at him. I noticed when he came and sat at my side but I am too sorrowful to even look at him.
“Well it's a shame for a beautiful lady like you to be sitting and looking this sorrowful!.” The stranger next to me said smoothly. I turn to give the stranger a glare. He is wearing a baseball cap and it looks as if he is trying to hide his face. I must admit, he is really good looking although I can’t see his face fully and also has a great body. But I know guys like him. They are players who usually use girls for their own pleasure.
That is why I loved Kelvin. Because he is a Mr Perfect maternal. The kind that you will feel proud to take home to your mama. The good boy next door who always respects his elders and treats ladies in the right way. But I guess I am wrong about him too.
“By the way, I am Chase!.” The stranger introduced himself. I ignored him and kept on taking a slip from my drink.
“Come on, there is no harm In telling me your name.” The stranger stated.
“Lisa!.” I answered because I am tired of him talking already.
“Well Lisa, you don’t look like the type that comes to a club, I wonder what brings you here? I am a regular and I have not seen you around before.” The stranger stated as he took a sip from his drink.
“Another one!”. I ordered my fourth cup tonight. I was not drunk, just tipsy. But I am planning on getting really drunk tonight. I want to forget about everything that happened today and allow the reality to hit me tomorrow.
“I think you need to slow down on your drink, I mean.., Chase started saying but kept quiet when he saw the look on my face. He finally let me be.
Well that is for a good thirty minute before he started talking again.
“You no there is a saying that says; a problem shared is a problem solved halfway already. If you need a listening ear. I am very available.” Chase stated before turning his attention to his drink.

Chase POV
"He dumped me..." She stuttered. I gave him my all and now am clingy and too available..." She explained in between a choked sob. And soon started sobbing.
I kept my drink and turned to give my attention to the lady crying beside. I can’t believe a guy will be stupid enough to break up with a girl like.
When I entered the bar earlier, Immediately noticed her. Although she is dressed like a party girl, she doesn’t look like one. She looks so innocent to be in a place like this. I found myself walking to her even though I rarely talk to ladies on nights like this.
I came here to have a drink alone and head back home. But here I am conversing with this lady. To think that I am the one who started talking to herself. My friends will think I have gone crazy if they hear of this because it’s so unlike me.
“Do you want a hug? It can help you feel better”. I said to the lady and opened my arms wide for her. She drops her drink and squeezes herself into my arms.
She was petite and I am afraid she might suffocate between my arms. "Don't cry" I pulled her back and handed her a handkerchief.
"Can I drink more?" She hiccuped, tears rolling in quietness.
"Yes only one then I take you home.” I sighed. I expected her to get back to her chair but she leaned in and wrapped her arms around my neck.I knew she was broken, hurt and drunk so I had to be careful with the words that came out of my mouth.
She placed her small slim hand on my chest and unexpectedly my hand drifted to her hip and settled there. I am unable to pull back."Do you know why angels fall?" I asked.
She tilted her head "Why?"
"Because they are tricked by the devil."
"You want to say you are a devil?" She chuckled and truth be told she really looks beautiful when she laughs.
"Of course not." I stated.
“Then why are you trying to cover your face?.” She asked. I didn’t actually think she would notice that she was drunk.
"Are you not afraid that I am a murderer, rapist or even in cult?"
She chuckled and rested her head on my shoulder,"You are so funny"
"Do you trust me that much?" l asked.
"Yes, because you seem like a good guy." She moved closer than our lips we're brushing.
"Let me kiss you..." Before i could respond, our lips locked onto each other. It was a full on, open mouthed almost sexual kiss.
I feel like I am taking advantage of her while at the same time enjoying it. I am lost in the moment when I felt salty drops on my lips, slowly opened my eyes and found her crying with her eyes closed.
"Hey," I shook her and she pulled back.
"I am sorry.." She drew back and got back to her chair. She gulped down four more shots and I just sat there looking at her..! I vowed to myself that I will make sure she gets home safe. The moment we kissed, she became my responsibility.
"I think I should get you home." I suggested it but she ignored me.
"Didn't you hear what I said?" I took the glass from her hand and gave it to the bartender.
"I want to drink until my body can't take anymore..." She yelled.
"Then how will you get home?"
"I will walk..."
"Are you mad?i am sure you can't even stand." I don't know why I was so concerned about a girl who Wasn't concerned about herself.
"Can you help me sit on the bar counter?" She requested and I nodded. I lifted her up on the bar counter only for her to stagger up and start dancing. With hands in the air, her body moved like an uncoiling rope. Swinging her hips here and there. I was scared she would fall so I diligently looked at her ready to catch her when she fell.
"SIR, can you get her from the counter?" The bartender requested.
"Here for your silence," I placed a hundred dollars on the counter,"Is it good?"
He nodded excitedly. Let the poor girl enjoy herself, maybe this will help her ease her pain. People from the crowd started clapping and it gave her the morale she needed to dance more. One look away from her and she almost fell. dropped my phone and held her
"Be careful."
"KISS!KISS!KISS!" The crowd begun shouting. She leaned closer to me giggling.
"What are you doing?"l stammered...
"They want us to kiss" She chuckled.
"Let's get you home..."I placed her on her feet and reached for my phone from the floor when I heard soft sobs.
"He refused to kiss me!" She began yelling. She sounded like a three year old crying for a Candy.
"Kiss!Kiss! Kiss!" The crowd began shouting again.
"Kiss me!Kiss me! She began shouting too.
“Chase, see what you have gotten yourself into by trying to be nice.” I mentally scolded myself.
"Kiss her!Kiss her!" The bartender joined in. She staggered to where I was and wrapped arms around my neck.
She kissed me and the crowd was filled with Screams. If this continues, people will soon find out who they are. I took her hand and walked her out of the bar angrily.
"What was that?" I asked the moment we were out of the bar.
"Thank you for tonight.." She hugged me and turned around
"Where are you going?" I asked when she begun staggering away. She didn't respond but continued walking. I didn't expect her to get far before she fell and that's why i stood there watching her be a drama queen. Just as thought, she fell few steps from me.
"Are you okay?" I ran to her.
"I twisted my ankle"
"Where do you live? So I can take it there..."
"House."And she passed out.
I stood there confused on what to do with her.
I can easily take her to a hotel but that is also a bad idea. The media may get hold of the news about it and then publish it. I will be doomed. I am currently working on a new project that means the world to me. Negative news about me right now can badly affect the news.
So against my wish, I have no choice but to take her to my penthouse..
