Chase POV
It has been three weeks since I last heard from Lisa. These three weeks have been the worst days of my life.
I try calling her every day but she nervously picks her phone. When I drop by her house to check on her, Her friend Claire will always inform me that she isn’t around even though I know that it’s a lie.
The worst part of everything is how Henry brags about spending time with her whenever we meet. I hate every moment of it.
I am also afraid that maybe Lisa has fallen out of love with me and is now in love with Henry. But I refused to believe that. I would not let her go and fight for her no matter what happens. I know she needs space and so I will give that to her.
I confided in my brother Xander for some advice on what to do because I don’t want to mess things up with her. Xander had just woken up from a coma. He was shot by a rival gang, luckily enough he survived.
Xander advised me that if I really want to settle down with Lisa, then it’s time to let go of Clara and the fame that comes with being with her.
I was actually very happy with his advice because I was getting tired with all the drama.
I called Clara and officially broke things up with her. At first she was being difficult and threatening to destroy my reputation. I presented her with a sex video and her sleeping with an old politician and that shut her up because she knows that she will be good as dead.
After breaking up with her, I felt like a burden had been lifted off my shoulders. One problem is solved. I can finally woo Lisa without any trouble.
I have an event to attend this week but I am not in the mood to attend and so I didn’t plan on going.
But then my childhood friend Lucy who is now Miss World came and forced me to go with her. She said that her ex boyfriend will be there and she wanted him to move on with her life.
After much pleading from her, I agreed to go with her.
I went to my brother’s mafia house first for lunch. Xander is being discharged from the hospital today and his wife Ashely decided to host a lunch for our family and the high mafia officials. I just hope my dad won’t be there because things won’t end so nicely.
Luck was on my side today because my dad didn’t wake up for lunch. I didn’t wait for the lunch to end before I excused myself and went back home so that I could get ready for the event.
Lucy wore a purple dress while I wore a purple tie to match with her dress. When we arrived on the red carpet, the entire paparazzi went mad with snapping pictures of us. They were all asking if she is the reason why I broke up with Clara.
We ignored them and kept heading for the venue. But before the entrance of the venue, my eyes meet with someone I didn’t expect to see here. It’s Lisa and not only that, she is wearing the dress and shoes i bought for her.
I smile when I look at her. I knew the outfit would suit her. I kept staring at her but not for long because her partner who happens to be Henry pulled her into the building.
“Stop glaring at him as if you want to kill him.”. Lucy whispered into my ears.
“O I wish I could kill him. I don’t like how it is all over my girl.” I answered her.
“O that’s Lisa? She surely doesn't look like your regular time. She looks more down to earth”. Lucy commented. Funny enough, that’s the extract thing Xander and Ashely said when I told them about her.
“That’s why I like her!.” I answered as we made our way into the event hall.
Inside, we were seated opposite Lisa and Henry. Just great.
I kept looking at them all through the time. I hated how they were both being touchy to one another.
I said to them a deadly glare when I saw Henry intertwine their hands together. I had expected Lisa to pull away but to my surprise, Lisa pecked on Henry’s hand.
They both smiled and Henry kissed her cheek. Before they could take anything further, I shouted; “ I think it’s time we dance”.
I saw Lisa roll her eyes at me and I flash her a mocking smile. I am going to make her regret why she made me jealous.
I led Lucy to the dance floor and started to cease her bare back and trailing kisses down her collarbone.
While doing that, I was staring directly at Lisa who has stopped dancing and is looking in pain.
She whispered something to Henry and ran out of the building.
“I think you should follow her because I am sure you both have things to say to each other”. Lucy's advice.
I smiled at her and ran after Lisa. I followed her down towards the quiet side of the garden surrounding the event hall.
To my surprise, I saw a masked man pressing a gun on the side of Lisa’s head.
“Hey!”. I shouted without any thought.
I rushed to the man and pushed him away from Lisa.
“Lisa, are you okay? Did the man hurt you?”. I asked Lisa as I pulled her into a hug.
“I am fine. Why did you come? You would have gone back and ask her help. He has a gun for god sake!”, Lisa cried out!
“Chase watch out!!”. Lisa shouted before I could say anything. But it was too late already. I felt something hit my head.
“Chase, are you okay?”. Lisa cried out as she kneel before me.
“Well well Romeo and Juliet, it’s a good thing that both of you will die today!”. The masked man said as he pointed the gun at us.
“Listen, why don’t let the lady go and then we will settle this between to of us!.” I suggested. I needed to make sure Lisa is safe before I do anything rational. Seen at a young age, my dad has taught Xander and I how to fight and defend ourselves and so I could take this guy out.
“Nice suggestion but I am not interested. You see, I need the lady and I am not leaving here without her.” The man said, still pointing the gun at us.
Since the man is determined, I will do what I have to do.
“Listen Lisa, if anything goes wrong, call my brother Xander he is the first person on my emergency contact!.” I whispered to the weeping Lisa as I passed her my cell phone.
“Why are you talking like this? Everything is going to be fine. Do do anything stupid.” Lisa warned.
I smiled at her; “I love you.” I told her.
Without waiting for it, I stood up at the speed of light and attacked the man. He had not expected it and that gave me an advantage.
Both of us began to struggle for the gun.
The next thing I heard was the gun fired twice. And the next thing I knew is both the masked man and I fell to the ground.
“Chase No!!!!!”. Lisa cried out and rushed to my side.
I slowly placed my hand on my stomach where I am feeling extreme pain. I raised my hand and saw blood. I guessed I had been shot.
I turned to look at the masked man. He was lying dead on the ground.
Good! At least Lisa is safe.
“C-Call m-my b-brother!.” I managed to instruct the crying Lisa.
“Okay I will do just that. Please stay with me Chase!” Lisa cried out.
I am not sure I can do that.
“Hello Xander? Chase has been shot!.” I heard Lisa say into the phone. Immediately I heard that, I finally closed my eyes and gave up.
