Forgive me, Forgive me not!!…
*Beautiful fairytales have to end for the worst nightmares to begin!!...*
**Proserpina**
'She would never do this.' I thought, looking at Belladonna holding my dagger. Because that would mean putting herself in a vulnerable position as she is close to both her brothers, Vlad and Hades. But still, I have to take a chance, a last chance to help Hades in whatever way I can.
I looked deep into her eyes, trying to communicate a message without words because Vlad was listening to both. She followed my gaze from hers to the dagger in her hand and then to handcuffed Hades. She gave me a slight nod, telling me that she understood.
'Thank you!' I muttered, hoping the dagger would help him in desperate times like it had helped me to a journey far from over.
Vlad leaned towards me, his hand on my waist. I flinched and sucked in a startled breath the second he made contact. It was like feeling a supernatural current dancing along my skin. He paused a moment as if he, too, had experienced it.
"Hold me, Princess!" He purred as his fingers moved toward my back, pushing me dangerously close to him. I almost froze as his breath wafted through my cheeks.
"I asked you something, Princess," he reminded me sternly when I didn't hold him. I shook my head, telling him no. His lips snarled dangerously at my neck. I flinched the second I felt a cold set of fangs extending against my tender flesh. A blinding fear coursed through my body as my heart was literally jumping, trying to pave its way out of my ribs. I moved as my shivering fingers gripped his shoulders, and my body flushed against his.
"Now hold still whilst we fly!" he said, spreading out his wings that looked like a hybrid of a demonic bat and a flaming phoenix. Their sheer size and magnificence took my breath away; they seemed as deadly as beautiful. A black shadow of his vampire counterpart, Dracula, floated behind him like Hell's essence was clinging to his form. His shadow, Dracula, was just a smoke of darkness, except for two dots of burning eyes. Then, with a demonic growl so deep that it sounded like a beast from Hell, Vlad launched into the dark skies, with me tugging onto his shoulders.
I don't know the feelings that engulfed my core, as it was both conflicting and confusing. A part of me was outraged, whereas the other part of me was turned on. His fangs ran up the length of my neck, making me shudder against him. His fingers flexed at my back, gripping me tightly.
"How do you feel, princess?" He growled low by my ear. But my gaze moved towards Hades. It felt like an ultimate shame being so close to someone who was not Hades.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled with a sob, looking towards the tiny figure of Hades. I know that Hades had power equal to that of Vlad, and he was fully capable of giving Vlad a good fight, but my tears completely disarmed him and stripped him naked of the armour, self-respect and pride he had erected to survive and defend himself from his vampire brother. He was on his knees, crying and loathing in the pain of heartbreak, and the only thing that made him so helpless was not my love for him but his love for me.
"Kora", Hades mouthed my name with such a pain as though something was being ripped from his soul by the sight of another man touching me, clearly claiming me as his own. I wanted to cry as I felt a surge of guilt.
But the other part of me believed that he got what he deserved. I don't know if Jericho has any role in Mira's capture, but I can't ignore the fact that Hades made me cross the enemy lines. He threw me away into Vlad's arm and damned my love for him…what more could I do? So I shut down my emotions, even though the sight of Hades brings me immense hurt. I knew it was selfish, and God may never forgive me, but thinking about what he had done to me, he was just lucky I hadn't grabbed Vlad by his shirt and kissed him.
I saw Belladonna giving a hug to Hades. I mumbled a small prayer, hoping she succeeded in sneaking the dagger into Hades' clothes, being careful enough from the prying eyes of humanoid bats. I was still so attuned to Hades that I couldn't notice the hardening of Vlad's jawline as he ground his teeth and intensified his grip on my back.
"Answer the fucking question, princess!" Vlad gritted in my ears. His voice was so coarse and thick. I removed my gaze from Hades and shut my eyes to take a deep breath. "Eyes! Give me your fucking eyes, Princess!" he barked, forcing me to snap my gaze to his. "Now, I will not ask again but instead remind you in other ways by tearing through the jugular of your friend." At this, my mouth dropped before I uttered, "You...you wouldn't dare?" I asked in shock, making him smirk down at me.
"Try pushing me and see what I could dare to do," he warned with a growl. His anger prompted my hands to act on impulse as I touched the bare skin of his neck. His eyes flashed blue the second I touched him. And for a single moment, it felt as if a lethal current was flowing through them. So, I decided to answer him quickly as I took every threat he issued me to be a serious one.
"I...I am scared." I admitted as I didn't want to push my luck. His fingers curled, making sweeping motions on my back. I was so angry at myself as I could feel his touch driving my sexual urge higher and higher to the point that I thought I would cum mid-sky. Fucking mating bond!
"That's my good girl, so honest, so innocent." He snarled by my ear as his hands spanned my back and pushed me further into his body. Then just as I was relieved that I was in his good books for the sake of Mira, he pulled away and snarled the horrifying truth in my ear, "A shame that I can smell your innocence, and it reeks of my brother's seed." My eyes snapped open in shock as he dug his nails into my skin to deliver the final blow, "Mark my words, Princess, for this is the last time I am tolerating this stench. For, I can assure you, Princess, you're on the wrong side of the safe world; it is far from greener on this side, for this isn't your fairytale...this is the land of nightmares I own and here...I show no fucking mercy!" he warned with a growl and snapped his teeth at my cheek, making me flinch.
I felt like crying at his harsh and humiliating treatment, so I turned my face away. He ran his tongue on my cheek, forcing me to look again at him. Then he sealed my shame and mortification when he tugged me roughly in his arms and whispered down at me, "Not even on my fucking brother...so behave if you want a head on his torso." His voice held a deadly calm that gave a murderous vibe. I couldn't help the gasp of pain that escaped my mouth.
The hot tears continued to fall as we moved through the dark and angry mass of clouds, rumbling with thunder and flashing with lightning. The air, thick with tension and electricity, was literally cutting through my skin. I felt a surge of fear as the lightning bolts tore across the night sky. Its sound was deafening, making my body shiver, and my bones shake. I hated the thunderous sky. It reminded me of my childhood when I would hide under the bed during thunderstorms. I still felt the same fear and anxiety, even as an adult. Maybe Vlad sensed my condition as he suddenly pushed one of his enormous wings forward and cocooned my body in his wingspan, blocking me from harsh, icy-cold air. My body stiffened, trying to ignore the feel of his particular muscle that took a solid shape due to our closeness. I started to pull away. He snarled in disapproval, closing his eyes and whispered in a strained voice, "I won't hurt you, Princess."
It seemed strange to witness his caring side after he threatened me just a few minutes ago. I would have asked him if he was crazy if he hadn't lowered to descend to this unknown destination. The place looked like an ancient, ruined city amid the dark, twisted mountains resembling crooked witches.
The moment we landed, I felt like a trespasser in a forgotten land. The silence was deafening, and the air was heavy with dust and decay. This place seemed like a mighty empire in the past, but all were gone now, reduced to ruins and rubble. The trees were all dead, with the crooked branches intertwined like the deadly serpents. There was a network of broken rope bridges with a sharp drop into the deadly valley connected to a ruined castle carved from a single boulder. The bridges also interconnected the towers and the walls of the castle.
I saw the scars of war and fire and the stains of blood and claws on its rugged walls. It looked like a great battle had been fought here, as most of the castle was in ruins. Giant holes were spread out over the castle as if some ancient war machine had attacked it like a catapult, damaging its walls and melting away the large chunks. This place was in utter ruin and despair and reeked of decay and death. I wondered if there was any hope or redemption for this fallen kingdom or if it was doomed to fade into oblivion. The whole area was covered with a greyish powder. My body stopped dead, frozen in time as if dead weights had replaced it. The fear crept up my spine like an angry, snarling snake when I realised what that powder was. I was standing in a massive space littered with the ashes of the deceased. It was a massacre of bodies killed, decomposed to their bones.
Everything was dead!
"So many deaths," I muttered, moving to the haunting site.
"Kingdom of Death- Land of Broken Bridges," Vlad whispered.
*I was so broken that even my soul refused to be there for me!!...*
