Chapter Sixteen: Abducted
Cedric parked his Mustang in front of the police station. He remained inside until he found a deputy leaving the station; he exited the car and followed him to a small coffee house opposite the station. Cedric was in need of more information, he wanted to know if the town’s folks are already aware of their vampire problem so he could decide his best course of action. The deputy was standing in front of the cashier getting his coffee, and Cedric stood right behind him. He smirked slightly, putting his hand in the pockets of his leather jacket, and decided that he would work his magic on the man, quite literally.

Tuesday proved itself to be just as busy as Monday for Suzan. However, Suzan was meeting her most peculiar case since arriving in the small town, if not in her entire career. She was standing next to the bed of the most recent patient. A young girl who couldn't be older than twenty arrived at the doors of the ER only to faint right there. She shook her head, tucking a strand of her short black hair behind her eyes, and shared a worried glance with Steven McMillian. “I don’t understand.” She said under her breath.
“Her chart shows serious blood loss. She needs a transfusion.” Steven said with a solemn look on his face.
Suzan nodded, “I did.” She looked at him with confused eyes, “But there’s not a single scratch on her.”
Steven hesitantly nodded, he leaned forward slightly, examining the girl’s wrists, then his eyes drifted to her neck. He noticed two small puncture wounds on the side of her neck, wanting to get a further look, he tilted her head to the side. “What is that?” Suzan inquired with furrowed eyebrows. Steven only shook his head as an answer, and before he could retort the heart monitor started beeping loudly. “She’s coding!” Suzan exclaimed then hurried to get the crash cart.

Cedric sauntered inside the police station and towards the sheriff office. He knocked on the door three times, before he heard a loud and annoyed, “Come in.” Once he entered, the sheriff furrowed his eyebrows, “Who are you?”
Cedric closed the door after him and took a step closer to the office, “My name is Cedric Bloodworth, and I am here to help you”.
The Sheriff crossed his arms over his chest and gave Cedric a condescending look, “Help me with what exactly?”
Cedric only smirked, “You seem to have a little vampire problem in your town, and I’m here to rid you of it”. The words jolted sheriff Fisher out of his comfortable seat as his eyes widened at the stranger.

Lorraine usually hates Tuesdays, unlike everyone else who cursed Monday to hell, she hated Tuesdays. She didn’t know if it was a coincidence or it was just her luck, but Tiesdays were always hard on her. This Tuesday, though, seemed to pass quite peacefully. She was leaving her trig class, finally having her chemistry class, the one right before lunch break, when Judy found her. “Hey, I thought we were meeting at the cafeteria?” Lorraine asked with knitted eyebrows, fixing the strap of her bag over shoulder.
Judy nodded, “Mike is missing. No one knows anything about him, no one can reach him.” Judy shook her head then started crying. “I’m so worried about him; I mean you saw what happened with the Jonas family!”
Lorraine pulled Judy into a hug, rubbing her back, “I’m sure he’s okay, don’t worry. Maybe he’s just really enjoying his time wherever he is.” Lorraine said not believing her own words. The two girls walked together to the bathroom, Lorraine urged Judy to wash her face, and did her best to assure her that her friend would be okay.
“I think we’ve known each other since we were in nappies. The thought of something bad happening to him is just…” Her words hung in the air as a fresh wave of sobs came over her. “I mean if his parents called the police then it must be bad, Lorraine.” She looked at her through their reflection in the mirror.

It was finally the end of a very long shift for Suzan. Working late until midnight every day was taking its toll on her. She was leaving the hospital with Dr. Mcmillian. “How’s your daughter, Suzan? After everything?”
“Lorraine is a tough nut to crack.” She said with a small proud smile. “It worries me slightly how strong she is, sometimes I feel like I can never be as strong as she is.” She chuckled awkwardly at the end of her words. “What about Judy? Does she remember anything?” Steven only shook his head. “Perhaps this is better.” She arrived at her car in the parking lot, “Some things are better left forgotten.” Steven noted how her tone was charged with so many emotions, and he found himself wondering what she had been through.
“Maybe you’re right.” He agreed, ignoring the many questions going through his mind.
With that they both said their goodbyes, and Steven left for his car. Suzan was fishing for her car keys in her bag when she heard a sound behind her. She turned around thinking it was Steven but found no one behind her. her eyes scanned the parking lot but saw nothing. She heard the engine of what she assumed to be Steven’s car before she saw him drive away.
She let out a breath and mumbled, “all the craziness is driving me mad”. She proceeded in trying to find her car keys and when she captured them between her fingers, she fished them out with a relieved smile. “Finally!”
She was opening her car when she heard another noise behind her. she turned around and the keys fell to the floor with a sound, and a hand was wrapped tightly around her mouth. She tried to scream but it was muffled as she was held tightly by her captor. She wiggled in their arms before she felt something hit her head and she fell unconscious.
