Chapter 38

I and Adhiva walked into a secluded neighborhood. I was confused about the course. There weren't many people in the neighborhood and it looked really scary. I turned to Adhiva with a questioning gaze.

"Where are you taking me to?" She didn't reply as we paused in front of a door. She brought out a key from her front pocket and pushed It into the keyhole. I washed her twist the key and then push the door open. She walked into the dark room. "Come," She said. I didn't move, I felt a bit scared. Why were we in front of a dark room?

"Put the lights on first," I said. She couldn't help but laugh.

"You are scared of the dark?." She said before turning the light switch. I walked into the white-colored room and a woman lay on the bed with her hair scattered on the pillow. The room looked like a mini hospital room. "Who is that?"
I asked. I was still standing at the entrance.

"Go see for yourself," She said with a smile on her face. I walked in slowly and my eyes couldn't help but begin to water when I saw Lailah Dk laying on the bed, unconscious. "Lailah! How's this possible?" I said. I held her hand.

"Adhiva how did she get here? She died"
I said all at once.

"That's not what matters now, let's take her away from here first of all." She said, I nodded while carrying her bridal style. She was unconscious and smelled like medicine. We both walked towards Adhivas car and I placed her in the backseat to lay.

As soon as we were both seated in the car, Adhiva drove off at full speed. I didn't ask her anything, I just turned around and kept staring at Lailah as she lay. She was unconscious and wasn't moving at all. I couldn't help but begin to cry again. I was overwhelmed and my heart could not take it any longer and tears streamed down.

Adhiva simply watched me cry from the side of her eyes because I could see her smiling. When we got to the palace, she drove in and I immediately got down and carried Lailah bridal style once again. I took her to my house and upstairs into my room. I laid her on the bed

"How is this possible? How's she alive?" I asked Adhiva who was seated on the couch in my room beside me as we both stared at Lailah.

"I don't know what happened to her but I was hired 4 years ago to be her nurse, I have been taking care of her ever since then. She has been unconscious, I have never witnessed her wake up. So I took some tests without my boss knowing and I found out she was being injected every month so she wouldn't wake up." She said.

"And who is that boss?" I asked.

"I do not know that, the person always puts on a mask. But I'm certain it's a woman." She said.

"What woman would do this to Lailah? She has never hurt a soul" I said.

"Your highness" I heard a lailahs voice say. I turned to still find her unconscious.

"She never fails to mention that. She always calls Your highness all the time. It's as if she's dreaming about something" She said.

"She's calling onto me," I said smiling foolishly. Adhiva chuckled.

"I figured that out my king" She bowed her head dramatically. I chuckled.

"What did the woman tell you about lailah?" I asked.

"She said Lailah was given to her by someone to take care of. And that her entire family is dead and she had no one at all except her" She said.

"The person lied, but did they? Not many people know that Lailahs family are still alive." I said. "Adhiva you must help me find out who that person is, we must bring them to Justice for deceiving us that Lailah is dead. You must help me." I added.

"I promise you, Haidar, I'll help you no matter what it takes. I'll make sure they are brought to justice in sha Allah" She said reassuringly.

"Thank you, but first you'll have to stay here. Whoever this person is they might try to kill you to keep their identity hidden. We have to be smart while making this decision, we can't let them know that I know Lailah is Alive." I said.

"Yes because for all we know it could be a family member," She said.

"Or it could be my stepfather, he doesn't want her to leave for some reason. I'm sure it's him that has done this" I said.

"Maybe he hired the woman to help him to this to her. But it seemed her life mattered to whoever it was because she could easily have been killed" She said.

"You are right about that, maybe he needs her help to get something and is preserving her till he is allowed to get out of jail," I said.

"This is all scary I swear," She said and I nodded in agreement.

"If my calculations are right, I could prepare an injection that would kill the injections she has been injected with," Adhiva said.

"Don't worry, I know what injection they are using on her. Can you see how chubby and fair she is? It's the one I'm thinking" I said. "And I have an injection that would kill it in 24 hours, she'll be awake" I added.

"Thank God, I'm sure she must know who is doing this to her. She must have seen them" She said.

"I hope so, then it'll make it easier for us," I said, there was a moment of silence before I broke it. "Adhiva, come let me show you to a room you can stay in in the meantime. You have nothing to worry about over here, the palace is secured. I made sure of that after the incident that made me lose Lailah" I said.

"Thank you." She said. We both strolled out of the room and headed to the next to ours.

"And your mum?. I think it'll be best you bring her here as well" I said.

"Don't worry, my mum isn't in the country at the moment. My dad flew her abroad" She said.

"Okay then. That's good" I said. I opened the door to the room for her and she walked in. "I'll make a maid bring food and cloth to you. Please rest in here, thank you for your help" I said to her and she smiled.

I left her in the room and went back to Lailah. She was still unconscious. I brought out my bag and took out the injection that would cure her. I injected it into her slowly. She would be awake in 24 hours. I couldn't take my eyes off her, she looked really beautiful and fairer. She was chubbier and the scar on her neck looked as though it was a cut. It didn't even look noticeable.

"I promise you Lailah, whoever did this to you will pay. They'll pay very dearly" I picked her hand and pecked it. I was going to make sure the person that this to her suffered. I'm going to make sure they rot in jail for depriving Lailah of life abs movement.
