Chapter 13: Viktor

When they got to meet everyone , they were all at the dining table eating, They were all present , at least Vikor's whole immediate family. They all looked away from their food for a minute to make their greetings , they gave him the respect that he deserved , all though Dani doesn't know anything about him and what his preferences are and how important he was at the pack , she just knew he was very important.
" This is Dani , She is Viktor's friend , and Viktor said she is going to be staying with us now" The little girl said while everyone was still staring at the new comer.
Without much thinking , Dani quickly bent down to the height of the little girl to correct her " No Laura , that's not true. You know that is not really true "
" But Viktor said its true"
" Hmm " She heard the displeased grunt from her left side, then she looked , wanting to see who. " I think you can take your discussions outside of here if you please , we are trying to have our meal in peace " A handsome older man who had all the features of the Beta , but only older spoke , and it didnt look like he was enjoying the show between a girl no more that six years old and a stranger , and so it seemed with every other person present. But there was a particular scorn look on the man's face that looked so distasteful and can make even a powerful one retreat in shame.
She looked up to Viktor and he had the same look too, and this time it was very visible.
" Father , she is my guest"
" Then take her to your rooms. She can either join us or leave us "
Father? She thought , even though she had thought that the man looked really like Viktor, it had suprisingly not come to her that he could be his son , or he could be his father. He looked young , and Viktor looked looked too masculine and huge.
He stood up room the table to emphasize on his distaste. " I have to excuse myself, I seem to have lost my appetite "
'Is something wrong with me? Did i do something wrong ?' She thought to herself.
Everybody looked awkward , like they didn't know what to do and who to follow, some stopped eating completely waiting for the drama to end so they can carry on with their meal , while some just wanted to leave. She could not help but feel the shame eating her up to the bones.
" We will leave to my room soon , you don't need to bow your head in shame , you have done nothing wrong " He said to her , having noticed her withdrawing again.
" It is easy for you to say when it is not you at the receiving end " They all watched as his father exited from the room , and not too long , others followed , they must have stayed even a minute longer only because of the loyalty they had for him , nobody wants to stay between crazy shots getting fired.
" I am so sorry Dani , i was hoping this will all go well, and that you would not have to see that , he was actually in a really good mood earlier , something must have happened between coming to meet you and now. I am sorry again" His sister tried to appease the situation.
" We both know the reason for his outburst,sister , this is nothing about anything spoiling his mood , we all know what has 'spoiled' his mood " He shot back , emphasizing on the word spoiled. He clearly was not seeing it the same way his sister had just tried to explain it.
" No, it's okay, there is really no need to argue about anything. When i leave everything will go back to where they are anyway "
" Viktor , take your visitor inside , she needs to rest from her journey , and you could use some rest yourself. I will bring your meal to your room "
" I don't want any " Viktor said firmly so his sister knew not to pester him.
" Then your guest will " She said, but when she saw that Dani was about protest too , she quickly added " No , i am bringing the food for you and you must eat it. It must not go to waste, the cook would not be happy with you , it will only make all her hard work go to waste " That was a really bog blackmail and it worked.
" Then thank you , i will glady enjoy it " As she said , Viktor had turned away from them , going to God knows where. Not waiting for her to catch up.
She ran towards him , because if she likes it or not , he is her safe haven in the crazy place.
His room was quite lovely and cute , but in a masculine way. Everything talked about his explicit taste and the richness of the time given to every detail in the large room, she was in awe " We will share the bed together for the period of your stay here " He said so curtly cutting off her thinking
" What ? "
" You heard me ,we will be staying in this room together. You and me "
" I heard what you said , but whatever do you mean by that ? "
" Just exactly what i said , no more , no less "
" I am sorry, I don't think i can spend any more day here. Please take me back "
" I cannot take you back "
" But why , your father does not even like me . Nobody likes me. Let me go back to the people that adore me "
" You are not the reason my father behaved the way he behaved ealier "
' Oh please don't think of lying to me now , i was there , i faced the backlash and and insult myself , and i could not even say anything to defend myself "
" It was not you , It was not because of you, It is me he is dissapointed at. It is me who the backlash and the insult is for .Nothing i do is ever enough for him, no matter what."
She just looked at him , not believing , trying not to believe. How can a magnificent man like him be a dissapointment ? But it was true , the look on his face says it all. And that moment , she bagan to look at him in another light , like a puppy she really need to take care of.
