Chapter 22: The ceremony of acceptance.

Rob Ezra, one the elders of the council, who also happened to be Kyra’s father’s friend gave a look of compassion as he placed the pack tablet in front of her and Conri on a large table.
The tablet is a large black piece of fine rock that has been carved into a slim slate of wolf carvings engraved on the stone. The tablet was used to initiate new members and give titles to existing members. She has been familiar with the stone in past occasions but they don't show it out unless there is an initiation or denouncement of a member is happening. Now it was welcoming her into the pack.

Elder Rob Ezra looked to both of them and said “ You, Conri Kessler the Alpha and ruler of safe moon pack will first accept Kyra Lowell as your mate and Luna of the pack right here in front of the whole pack,” he said, motioning for him to answer .
“ Yes I Conri Kessler, Alpha of safe moon pack accept and take Kyra Lowell as my mate and Luna to the safe moon pack “ He said it with so much surety in his heart. Once Conri was done Rob Ezra faced Kyra telling her to say hers, She raised her hand up in the air and repeated after him “ I accept Conri Kessler, the alpha and ruler of safe moon pack as my mate and Alpha” She sounded sure too, at least she was going through with it and no one is forcing her.
She looked at Conri where he stood beside her, he seemed content and happy, she would have swore that she even saw him smile, She knows now the real work has begin, she has to prove herself more than ever before, the fate of the pack now lies in her too. She will have to work hard to serve the pack, all eyes will be on her.
“Do you accept that you will uphold your duties to your Alpha as his Luna and his Wife?” He continued.
Conri was looking at Kyra now waiting for her to answer the question, the remaining members of the council were focusing all their attention on her too.
“ Yes, I do “ she returned the gaze.
“Then now, by the power vested in me, I hereby pronounced you officially as the Alpha and Luna, Husband and wife. . . Congratulations “ It was too formal, she thought. She thought that it was going to be as simple as possible like he had said but it seems they still have to sit down amongst them to talk a little bit.
Elder Rob Ezra takes the blade and makes a tiny incision on both of their palms which he then places on the tablet. A small gust of air breezes past both if the. They immediately could feel the joining of their wolf, the intensity of it.

He caught her eyes and whispered something to her that was not quite audible. With the new duties and position that has been give to her, she has to go greet the elders one by one, the first and the final greeting, except if something unplanned comes up. She stayed close to Conri, he was giving her the energy she needed at that moment. They got to Dante, he just murmured his congratulations and that was all, if only they could leave and this later. But that's not possible, they have to face it now. He wasn’t even looking at her , too busy with the anger in his heart to give her any attention.
“ Come “ She could hear Conri say to her, holding one of her hands, he must have noticed how uncomfortable she looked, feeling like she didn't not belong there. She could see them, not all of them were happy to see her, not all of them had even been happy to come to the ceremony, but they have to come, they have no choice. That's what Conri said in the morning, that can only think it, they would not dare act on it so instead of her dwelling too much on what they think about her, she will as well enjoy it to the last drop.
And that means also ignoring Dante. No matter how powerful he is and how people are supporting him in that room. She wished her sister had been allowed to come. Since it was supposed to be very short, they didn't need a lot of people and she had accepted it thinking that would have been the best. But now, she is not so sure. She wanted them in there with her. Conri looked at her, and drew her a little bit closer to him and whispered in her ear “ should I feel bad that you are thinking about other things while you are in here with me? “ She guiltily looked at him.
Then she whispered back “ I know and im sorry. I just wished that my sisters will be here with mw thats all “ She looked up at him waiting for his reply.
“ Is it because of this people here, dont worry about them. You have me here, they can do absolutely nothing to you now , you are their luna. You can command them and punish them if you see fit “ He said looking straight inside her soul. Her chest begins to tighten as if all the emotions came bursting out. Even after everything he had done to her, none of it matter at that moment, she kissed him and the shock on his face did not come as a surprise to her, she was shocked herself. She will choose to love him now , giving him a second chance, she cannot wait to tell everything to her sisters .
Conri’s eyes flicker between green and blue until the green until it finally settles. but it disappears almost as quickly as everyone present has seen it.
“ I want to mark you right here so that your heart belongs to me completely too... So that everyone present here will see it“ She felt wobbling but he didn't let her go, his grip was firm on her.

It became harder to resist him any further and Conri was making her forget her home training in front of all the elders of the council.

“Natalia,” Elder Robins kneels beside me. “You have to accept his rejection to complete the ceremony.”
She quickly called herself in order and Conri saw everything, he could see into her soul now, he smiled and that was first in a long long time. She missed his smile. It was as if he is coming out his shell, his unreadable features began to relax.
After a few minutes of greeting and accepting their congratulations, it was now time to go. She was happy that the bad blood between Conri and Dante didn't cause any damage and even more so that Dante didn't say more than a word to them.
“ You are mine now Kyra, there is no other place you are running too “
“ I am running to my sisters' place “
“ ha ha ha you know what I mean, I will only allow you to go if you will make sure to come back quick we have an unfinished business to take care of “ he said, looking at her as if she was a snack.

“ You were the one who suggested it and you forgot? “ she asked in disbelief.
“ Darling, you can't blame me, my head is filled with you right now. Your dress is killing me. I wanted to tell you as I take it off your body, but I guess there is no chance now “

“ There is? “ he asked looking optimistic. Those words were teasing his brain.
“ Yes, but another dress. I have to prepare for the after party “
