3.
I tentatively took a step closer, only to let out a startled gasp as soon as I suddenly felt a hand touch my shoulder.
I quickly spun around, peering up at Rick's saddened expression whilst he continuously stared past my shoulder at the crouched figure sitting on the floor.
"She's been sitting like that for two days now..." He quietly explained with a tangible hint of hurt lacing his tone.
"I don't know what to do anymore..."
Two days? What the hell? What the fuck happened in here?
I could feel myself getting even more and more worried the more I looked between the completely destroyed room and her current state.
"But...why? What happened?" I asked with an impatient tone as I looked back to him, grabbing a tight hold of his shirt as I deeply stared into his eyes, desperately searching for an answer.
"I can't tell you...At least not in here," He uneasily said with a hushed tone as he glanced between me and her for a moment, making me feel so mad at him already.
What the hell! Why couldn't he just tell me already? How was I supposed to help if I didn't even know what was going on for crying out loud!
I blew out an annoyed sigh and focused my attention back on her before he could say anything else and decided to at least try and approach her, but before I could even take another step in her direction, another set of heavy footsteps resounded through the house, effectively halting my every movement and drawing my attention as well.
Oh my god!
I let out an audible gasp and instinctually took a startled step closer to Rick as soon as I noticed Raphael entering the room with a determined look plastered all over his features.
Holy shit! What the fuck?
Ready to scream like a crazy woman and hide myself behind that freaking table as I knew all about what happened with this guy just a year ago, my fearful gaze fleetingly averted to Rick and judging by the look on his face, he wasn't expecting to see him here either.
However, oddly enough, he didn't move an inch.
What the...
As I curiously looked once again at the broad and menacing angel standing in the doorway, the first thing I could only now notice was that unmistakable warmth glinting in his dark brown eyes, my brows raising as I questioningly averted my attention back to Rick, silently asking a question he was already giving me the answer to with a simple nod.
Wait...What the hell! So he was...one of the good guys again? When did that happen?
Jesus!
I exhaled a long breath through my lips in a poor attempt to calm myself since I was already feeling so overwhelmed by everything happening all at once, taking a look in Blake's direction as I couldn't help the deep sadness and guilt that washed all over me at the thought that she must've been through so much all this time while I was away, all sound and safe.
But all of a sudden, like sensing Raphael's presence her palm touched the floor as she finally turned around to peer over her shoulder, her puffy and still glossy eyes slowly raising to meet his.
I could feel a small tear already making its way down my cheek as I silently witnessed their heartfelt interaction, watching how his dark brown eyes found hers, an unknown emotion crossing his features as they wordlessly stared at each other for a painfully long moment before tears started to freely flow over her cheeks and with a quick move, she turned back around and buried her face in her knees, breaking into a fit of small sobs and whimpers.
"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I couldn't stop them! Please forgive me! I couldn't do it!"
Another few tears made their way down my cheeks at the sound of her muffled cries, and even though I didn’t even know what she was talking about I could feel my heart breaking into million pieces at the mere hearing of her voice.
This was not the Blake I knew. Not even by far.
Something very bad had happened here. And I had every intention of finding out exactly what.
“Please! Please forgive me! I didn’t mean to! I just wanted to save her! I’m so sorry!”
I tried to swallow the lump already formed in my throat as I helplessly stared at her crouched form, my heart beckoning me to just walk right to her and do my best to comfort her, but before I could even move, the archangel standing in the doorway had already beat me to it as without a single word he walked straight towards her and carefully wrapped his arms around her back and under her knees, effectively coaxing her to let him take her into his arms, closely holding her still sobbing form to his chest as he silently exited the room, leaving us both just standing there and staring at his retreating back, completely dumbfounded.
