29.

"Madeleine..." "Madeleine..."

"Madeleine,"

She could hear that masculine voice, the sound muffled as if she were underwater and slowly breaking through the surface as the voice gradually became clearer and clearer until she could perfectly hear Elias' gentle tone, feeling a light tap over her cheek.

Her eyelids fluttered open, meeting those blue and dark like the starry night eyes, his straight nose so close to touching hers as he held her pressed against his bare chest, almost suffocating her with his burning heat.

"Emerick," She mewled, abruptly jolting upwards and out of Elias' hot embrace as she immediately remembered exactly where she'd lastly seen him and what state he was in.

Something was not right.

"I have to see him," She anxiously blurted out, crawling over the bed closer towards Elias as she pleadingly gazed into his galaxy eyes.

"You have to rest. You are still recovering from that panic attack. I cannot risk-"

"No! I want to see him!"

"Will you please let me see him? Please, I will do anything! Please let me see him!" She begged and moaned, blinking away those small tears forming at the corners of her eyes as she could not help but fret over his safety.

What if he had already been injured by that other BloodHound? Or worse...

"Please! Let me see him just once! I will do anything you ask I swear, just please let me see him!"

"You say you will do anything?"

She hesitated for a moment as soon as she heard those words from him, realization suddenly dawning upon her as she did notice that lustful glint barely visible in his galaxy eyes yet in the heat of the moment, she rapidly nodded anyway.

"Please..."

"Very well," He simply conceded, making her startle as faster than her eyes could follow, he suddenly moved forward and grabbed a firm hold of both her upper arms, the girl casually noticing how small she actually seemed under his hands, making her also acutely aware that there were so many things he could do to her if he only whished so.

He was an insanely powerful, way more intelligent and much less emotionally sentient being.

Whereas she was just a scrawny and powerless girl.

"I trust you will honor your words," She quickly turned her head and rose her chin as he spoke, gazing up at his deceivingly handsome face.

"But before that, I must warn you that I do not tolerate lying humans," He added, his deathly calm expression managing to scare the freak out of her even though she remotely nodded.

Fuck! What did she just agree to?

She anxiously thought as the Alpha only peered into her earthian blue eyes for another moment before shifting off of the bed.

"Come. I will take you to him,"

She quietly obeyed and shifted closer towards the edge of the mattress as well, escaping a surprised gasp as he swiftly grabbed her and took her in between his arms, coaxing her to wrap one arm around the back of his neck while her other hand rested against the middle of his bare chest, faintly feeling that strong and steady beat underneath her palm.

Just like a human's. Except he wasn't.

He was something much much scarier.

She timidly rose her gaze to look at him as he exited the room, meeting his intense and assertive one as he kept his attention trained on her, seemingly aware of his own surroundings as well as he kept moving and taking turns from time to time with such ease and without even breaking eye-contact with her once.

But with each moment that she was witnessing bits and bits of his actual strength and abilities, the more she became more and more frightened of him. Of everything he represented.

She had to see Emerick and coax him into escaping with her as soon as possible.

She thought, unintentionally losing herself into those endless and star-dotted galaxies for a few good seconds and failing to notice the moment he abruptly stopped, feeling him lean forward as he carefully shifted his hands on her waist and helped her stand on her own two feet.

She mildly staggered after such long time without properly using the strength of her own body for balance and transportation, immediately feeling Elias' hands under her forearms, offering support as she waited for a few seconds until she was in complete control of herself.

Seemingly doing that same examinating thingy Emerick used to do to her whenever he was worried about her physical health, Elias gave her one last glance before moving to push open a door she hadn't even previously noticed, only to have her gasp in utter shock and dismay as soon as she looked past it.

A tiny and broken sob involuntarily wracked throughout her as she slowly approached and looked at the stiff and motionless male standing just a few meters away, his torso still bare as he only wore his cargo pants, combat boots and that stupid black mask over his nose and mouth, his hands tied to his back and chained to the wall behind him as if he were a disobedient wild dog.

"Emerick?" She weakly whispered, her feet carrying her forward until she was standing right in front of him, mildly relieved to notice that at least he didn't possess any injuries before she let out another sob and threw her arms around his waist, burying her face in the middle of his chest as she cried her heart out.

He was her only home. Her only connexion to Earth and the last to ever care for her and keep her safe as much as he did.

And now he couldn't even hug her back, let alone save her.

"What did you do to him?" She cried as she momentarily turned to look at the cruel being standing close behind her that had done all this, hatred and pure disgust etched all over her face as she glowered at him.

"He is serving his punishment, for disobeying direct orders," The Alpha calmly answered whilst closely watching the interaction between the two, feeling mildly intrigued after witnessing such strong reactions from her in the span of a few short moments.

How? How was this BloodHound managing to have such an effect on her, and whilst heavily dosed with inhibitors nonetheless?

"Whose orders?" She shouted at him, her delicate hands tightly balling into fists at her sides as she could barely contain her rising anger.

Why did he do this to him? How could he be so cruel?

"That is irrelevant. He is a BloodHound. A soldier, if you may. He was precisely instructed to obey and he failed. Now he is facing punishment,"

"Like hell he is," She growled under her breath, managing to surprise both the Alpha and the seemingly unresponsive BloodHound as she grabbed and ripped that wretched mask off of the latter's face.

And whilst looking into his beautiful violet galaxy eyes with hope and trust, she raised herself on her tippy-toes as she struggled to reach his impressive height, moving her hand against the back of his head before she pulled him closer and smashed her lips against his, moving into a slow and hot kiss.

If this wasn't going to bring him back to her, shedidn't know what else could.

She mentally prayed as her lips moved against his still stiff ones, feeling small tears gathering and trailing over her cheeks as she futilely tried and tried before lastly pulling back to look at him.

"Please fight it," She weakly pleaded between tears, intending to reach out and press her lips against his for a second time when a hand suddenly wrapped around her throat, quickly stopping her.

She started to cry even harder as she could not help but think about what was possibly about to happen to her, desperately continuing to look at Emerick as she searched for the tiniest response.

"Come back to me!"

"That is enough," She heard Elias warn from behind as he held her back, but she did not mind him.

"Save me from here, please!" Her voice gradually rose as she rather stubbornly kept trying to reach to him, utter fear and despondency filling her entire body as the Alpha firmly took ahold of her and hoisted her up, back into his embrace.

"I said that is enough,"

But she did not give up and instead she started screaming and struggling to escape the Alpha's unyelding grip, desperately begging for Emerick to react and save her.

"Emeriiick! Help meee!!" She cried out from the top of her lungs as the Alpha carried her away and outside of that room, despite her phyisical and violent protests.

However, what Madeleine failed to notice was that single twitch in Emerick's bare arm and that tiny drop trailing over the side of his face as he quietly watched his little earthling being taken away from him, for a second time.
