As I approached the stable, I heard loud voices like people panicking.
“We have to get him to the pack hospital immediately!” Someone shouted from inside.
“What is going on?” I asked as I hurried into the stable.
I saw my son lying on the ground, shaking violently. Some white foam were coming out of his mouth and his eyes were closed.
“Domarius!” I screamed as panic gripped me. I knelt beside him and held him close to my chest.
“What happened to my son?” I asked the men in the stable.
“We don’t know,” said one of them. “I was showing him the pony that he would ride today and he suddenly fell down and started shaking.”
“He was eating an apple before he collapsed,” said another man.
“Who gave him the apple?” I asked.
“We don’t know,” they replied. “Let’s get him to the pack hospital quickly.”
Domarius began to shiver more violently and this time, his head was swinging from side to side. I tried to stop him because I was afraid that he might break his neck.
One of the men carried him from me and we all rushed out of the stable. We raced to the pack hospital together, screaming for the doctors to come out immediately after we got there.
He was taken into the intensive care unit while we waited at the reception area. I was too numb to cry and all I could think of was my son.
It took several hours before the doctor came out again. I stood up and ran to him, eager to hear about my son.
“I have good news and bad news,” he said with a dull face.
My heart skipped a beat. “What’s the good news?”
“Your son is alive,” he said without excitement.
I sighed with relief. “What’s the bad news.”
“He is in a coma and I don’t know if he will ever wake up again.”

My world came crashing down after that terrible news. The Alphas returned from their battle in the evening but they didn’t bother to come to the hospital to see their son.

“No!” I screamed. “I can’t do that. I won’t do that. He’s all I have left in this world.”
The doctor shook his head sadly and said, “If he was going to wake up, he would have done so already. His little body got damaged badly by the poison he ate.
“If he ever wakes up from this coma, he will be paralysed forever. Do you know what I mean? He will be a vegetable if he survives this.”
I wept bitterly. Why should my innocent son have to suffer like this? He didn’t deserve this kind of fate.
I left my son in the hospital and went to confront his fathers in the palace. I was told that they were in their quarters with Brianna.
