Chapter Sixty-five
Glowering at her, Bram watched as she entered the room, commanding his attention. It had been so long since their paths had crossed, and if she had come looking for him, it meant nothing good. He could only hope it had nothing to do with his parents. He didn’t want to get pulled back into their world. “It’s been so long, love. I’ve missed you. But by that little conversation I just heard, I guess you’re not being loyal to the lover you chose over your damn wife either, huh?”
Gavin’s eyes got large, and he stared at Bram. Closing his eyes, Bram pinched the bridge of his nose, taking a deep breath. Other than his father and mother, this was the last person in the world he wanted to see. “Mihaela. To what do I own this very unpleasant visit?”
“Don’t be like that, we’ve had some amazing times together. You only hate me because your parents love me so much.”
“Yes, well, when your parents force an arranged marriage upon you in hope that the vindictive bitch they chose will kill you, it tends to leave some animosity behind.”
As Mihaela pushed Gavin to the ground, the heal of her red pump pressing against the back of his neck as she forced him to bow before Bram, he stood up, catching her arm and pulling her away. “What?” She snapped at him. “I found this full blood sneaking around your office. I thought you would like—”
“You of all people know, I will not allow anyone to miss treat those who are loyal to me, and Gavin is mine. So, keep your hands off from now on.” He turned, gently pulling Gavin from the floor he was still bowing on.
“You work with full bloods now? I would never have thought you would let one into your inner circle considering.” Her bright red lips sneered at him. She knew how to make his blood boil, dammit. “How many lovers do you have these days? You fucking hypocrite.”
“I don’t currently have a lover. Tyler’s moved on to better things. With someone who can actually provide him the relationship he’s always wanted.” Bram didn’t let his eyes wander to Gavin, not wanting her to put two-and-two together. The way her eyes moved to Gavin as his heart started thumping in his chest and the way he avoided looking at either of them all together, was giving himself away.
Crossing her arms under her ample bosom, her breast looked about to spill from her little black dress. “Yes, because you say ‘I love you’ so openly and freely, I’m going to believe for a second you don’t have a lover. Even if it’s only the woman on the phone. I supposed you finally found a half blood female that’s caught your attention?”
“Seriously, that’s none of your concern. What do you want?” Bram went back to his chair, drinking down the glass of brandy he’d poured. As her hands caressed Gavin’s shoulders, Bram offered him a glass of brandy. She rested her breasts against Gavin’s neck, and he sat there, looking entirely uncomfortable. “You don’t have to take her shit. Get off him.”
“Well, Tyler stole my lover from me, perhaps I’m just trying to return the favor.”
“Pretty sure you lack the equipment to steal this one away. I won’t ask you to take your hands off him again, Mihaela.”
“What will you do to me if I refuse?” She laughed, her Romanian accent became thicker as she became excited. “Did you forget whom I have the protection of, my most beloved Vlad?”
Bram glared at her over his cup. “Call me that one more time, and I will rip your tongue from your mouth so quickly, even that bitch won’t be able to stop me.” His eyes went to where she was touching Gavin’s throat, “I will not ask a third time.”
“Still have that stick shoved up your ass I see.” She said, as she took a step back. She wasn’t touching him anymore, but she was still hovering over him.
Gavin swallowed hard, staring at the table. “Perhaps, I should leave the two of you alone and make sure the others don’t come barging in. It won’t look good to have an elder here when they show up.” Gavin dared a peek at Bram.
“She’s no longer an elder. She didn’t die when removed from her seat. That’s why you still feel that power in her. You may go though. Those assholes will leave the moment they sense she’s here. So, the meeting will clearly have to be cancelled. Can you let them know?”
Gavin nodded, his chair started to scrape the floor, but Mihaela’s hands on the back of it, stopped him. “Oh, no, I want this precious little lamb to stay here. All I can think of is eating him up.” Bram had enough, in one lithe movement, his hand was at her throat, and he smashed her against the wall.
“It’s such a turn on when you’re rough!” Gavin was halfway out the door when her hands connected with Bram’s chest and he flew back, landing on the table in the center of the room and smashing through it. Raising her hand in the air, sparks lit at the end of her fingers. “I was made for you. I’m the one and only equal you’ll ever have, and you just can’t help but spit on me, can you?” Gavin was frozen, clearly debating whether or not he should act. “Yet, no matter how badly you treat me, I still can’t help but want you. You are the biggest asshole in the world. I truly do pity anyone who ends up with you. I Should find that little girlfriend of yours and enlighten her to the kind of guy she’s falling for.”
“Seriously, can’t you just stop blabbering and tell me why you’re here. You wouldn’t have left Romania if you didn’t need something. You wouldn’t be here, bothering with me, if it wasn’t something huge you couldn’t handle on your own or with *their* help.” Bram’s finger lifted toward Gavin, pointing out the door.

Gavin left while the getting was good. He closed the door behind him, but stayed within earshot. Bram didn’t look the least bit worried, but if something did happen, he hoped he would be able to do something, anything, to try to help. Flipping his phone open, he sent Tyler a text.
*Who is Mihaela, and should I be worried that she just threw Bram across the room?*
A response came back almost immediately. *Where the fuck are you?!*
Gavin responded that they were at the DAS building.
*Don’t leave him alone.*
Gavin sighed, dialing his number. “She knows that we’re lovers. Bram wanted me to leave because she was becoming hostile.”
Tyler started swearing, yelling that there was an emergency and for everyone to get out of the bar. “I don’t care if you watch from the window. Make sure she doesn’t touch him.” He was growling now, half screaming into the phone.
“Do you still have feelings for him?” Gavin asked quietly. “She said that she’s his wife and that you stole him from her.” Gavin was upset himself. Tyler had only ever told him they didn’t have that kind of relationship, and he felt like he’d purposefully left out the fact that they *did* have a history. He didn’t like feeling like he had been lying.
“Are you fucking kidding me, Gavin? I’ve already told you, we don’t have that type of relationship. Just wait there, I’m heading out now.” Tucking his phone into his pocket, he looked back toward the window on the side of the door. Bram was still laying in the debris of the ruined table, his arms now tucked under his head and his ankles crossed, like he was just laying there like he was relaxing back somewhere luxurious. The woman towered over his, her breast pressed up with her arms crossed under them. Bram had been married, and this other vampire had special powers too? What the hell were the elder’s hiding from the rest of the community? Was it really worth getting all tangled up in?
