Moon Goddess

Maya muttered, not knowing what she should say or do. It's literally such a pissing situation. If she can, she wants to kill him for such things.

Without meeting him, she can tell how much of a disgusting person he is. Even before Levi and Rish told her about him, she thought he's just some money-blinded person who loves to look down upon everyone because they're rich. But that doesn't make sense now.

She can just say he's worse than animals. Even the mate system in the werewolf world doesn't treat women as poorly as he did with Alisha, claiming that he loves her.

But what the question here is, how he even gets close to her. That just shudders everything inside her. By thinking, just the mere chance is like he's her mate. The mere thought is terrifying alone

He doesn't deserve to be mated with Alisha, their queen, but if he is Alisha's mate, no matter how much she tries to protect Alisha. She won't be able to do so.

If he is her mate, not even the Moon Goddess can save Alisha.

She can only pray that it doesn't happen. Mates are meant to love, to be loved. Such a person can never love anyone. They can be obsessed, possessed, but they never can love. Such a freak!

“I don't know, Maya. I just don't know. I left everything, the orphanage, Mother Mary, the kids, everything,” Alisha curled her fist, as she tried hard not to shed tears.

Her heart is already crying, she is already shattered, she is broken, she is hopeless, but she doesn't want to lose. She just doesn't want to break into tears. She wants to stay strong, even if that means just a little. She is fine with that.

“You don't have to think about the place. You can stay here. He won't be able to find you here. About the orphanage, I can get Levi and Rish to see if they're doing fine. Nobody is going to doubt anyone. You don't know us, and inside the forest, no one will think that you can stay,” Maya patted Alisha's head as she tried to console her.

Alisha looked at Maya and said, “Why are you helping me so much? I even got your daughter Levi and son Rish into the mess at the shop, and still you all are kind to me.”

“They said it's not your mistake. It's Alice who behaved that way. And sometimes, kindness doesn't need a reason. If someone needs help, it's nothing bad to help,” Maya explained.

She knows she's half lying and half telling the truth.

Of course, she would be helping Alisha even if she weren't of royal blood. She never believes in leaving people when they need help. As a doctor, it's her first nature, her instincts, that tell her to help always.

But still, Alisha is a different case. She is their queen, she is of royal blood, so she is ready to die in helping her. Sacrificing her life means nothing in that case.

She can't say that to Alisha's face.

“Mom is right. Things happened that don't mean it's your mistake. Someone else behaved like shit. If they're with you, that doesn't mean it's on you, especially when you were forced,” Rish stated patiently, with seriousness in his voice.

“I agree with my brother,” Levi nodded in agreement.

Maya nodded, grateful for her children's support. She looked back at Alisha, her gaze soft but determined.

"Alisha, he won't be able to find you, that's for sure.”

Alisha managed a small smile, touched by their kindness.

"Thank you, Maya. Thank you, Levi. Thank you, Rish," she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.

“You don't have to thank me. I'm just grateful I found you,” Maya bit her tongue as soon as the words slipped out.

She couldn't let the truth expose just yet. First, she needed answers about the letter Rish sent early in the morning. She needed to figure things out before she could tell Alisha about the Werewolf world and everything else.

Her heart ached at the thought of how Alisha would take it all, including the truth about her parents' deaths.

Of course, Maya had been an orphan from the start, but that didn't lessen the pain she would feel upon learning about her parents' murders.

Growing up in an orphanage didn't mean she never thought about her parents being dead. They weren't just dead; they were murdered.

Maya took a deep breath, pushing aside her own emotions for the moment. She needed to focus on supporting Alisha.

“How about going for a walk in the backyard? The weather is lovely,” Maya suggested softly, trying to reassure Alisha.

Alisha nodded, her eyes showing a hint of calmness.

Maya gently squeezed Alisha's hand, silently promising to be there for her through it all.

“Mom, I think I'll walk with her. You and Rish can stay here and handle other things,” Levi chimed in, eager to spend some time talking with Alisha. She wanted to lift her spirits and make her feel more comfortable. Plus, she figured some girl-to-girl talk might help.

“What about me? I'm free too. I can come along,” Rish complained, feeling left out.

“You're a guy, Rish. It's girl time,” Levi teased, sticking her tongue out at him.

Rish rolled his eyes but couldn't help but chuckle. "Fine, have your girl time. But make a cup of tea for me after you get back.”

Levi grinned. "Deal. Thanks, Rish."

As Maya and Rish watched them head out to the backyard, Maya turned to Rish with a knowing smile.

"They'll be fine?" she asked with a doubt filled voice.

Rish nodded. "Yeah, they will be.”

Maya's smile widened. "Hopefully things sort out soon.”

Rish nodded in agreement. "Hopefully."

They both returned to their tasks, but Maya couldn't shake off the worry entirely. She knew that dealing with Alisha's situation wouldn't be easy, but she was determined to help her through it.

As they worked, Maya couldn't help but glance out the window towards the backyard, silently wishing for Alisha's mood to improve.

She could only hope. Maya knew that many things were out of her control, but that didn't mean she couldn't hope. After finding Alisha when she had no hope left, she trusted in the Moon Goddess.

Now, at least, she could put her hopes in the guidance of the goddess.
