Place

Alice hesitated before continuing. "I don't think this is the best idea. We can just sit here and enjoy ourselves. It's not like going out will help much."

"How long will we sit here? We've only seen a few places in this whole pack. It's like a caged house now," Alisha complained.

She had had enough of sitting around in this house. Before, at least because of training, she got to go outside. Now, after the key incident, even that was impossible.

There was no way she was someone who liked staying inside like this. It was so tiring to sit around idly.

Before, she had university and enjoyed being at the orphanage with kids. Then, when Alice kidnapped her, he even took her to his office, and things weren't that boring. Now, after everything, she was just stuck here, which was giving her a high level of boredom.

"You want to go out? Where? We don't know any places in this pack, and it's not convenient," Alice asked in shock.

He didn't think that Alisha would be that worked up about going out.

"At least I took walks in the garden before. Now you don't even want to let me do that. Not gonna lie, I don't even want to go to the garden anymore. It's so boring there too," Alisha rolled her eyes.

She just wanted to enjoy herself a bit. She knew she might sound selfish, and the situation clearly wasn't ideal for thinking about entertaining herself. But that didn't give anyone a pass to make her feel like she was in some prison. This wasn't even that selfish because this whole situation had snatched away her perfect life.

So she had every right to ask for a little enjoyment. Wasn't this pack going to be her present and future? Sooner or later, she would gain her powers and lead it. Wasn't that why she was here now? So going around and seeing what this place was like shouldn't be an issue.

Alice held her hand. "Why didn't you tell me before that you were feeling like this? If that's how you feel, then let's go out. No issue. Even if anything comes up, I'll be there to protect you."

His mind didn't want to agree with his own words, but his heart was ready to give it all.

At least now she was expressing what she felt with him, so this little thing he could provide for sure—this wasn't something impossible.

Jackson had also said the pack was safe, so going out for a bit, even though neither of them knew this place well, wouldn't be a big hassle.

"Yes. Let's go and talk about a stall," Alisha agreed.

"What about money? I don't think my cards will work here," Alice spoke with hesitation.

He had never felt this embarrassed. For years now, he hadn't thought about money—being a billionaire made it easy for him to spend without thinking. And here, in front of his girl, he had to consider this. But now he was in a supernatural place, so of course, it wasn't his fault.

"No issue at all. We're just going to look around. There's nothing we need to buy, so we don't have to worry about money," Alisha reassured him.

Alice nodded, feeling a mix of relief and lingering apprehension. "Alright, let's go then. But we should be careful and stay alert."

As they stepped outside, the fresh air hit them, a stark contrast to the stuffy atmosphere of their confinement. Alisha took a deep breath, savouring the moment of freedom.

The place was a blend of modern convenience and rustic charm. Well-maintained paths wound between clusters of cottages and larger communal buildings. In the distance, they could see the edge of a forest, its green canopy inviting yet mysterious.

"It's beautiful out here," Alisha remarked, her eyes wide as she took in the sights. "I had no idea the place was so extensive."

Alice kept a protective arm around her as they walked. "It is impressive. But remember, we don't know all the rules or customs here. Let's try not to draw too much attention to ourselves."

As they strolled, they passed by other pack members going about their daily routines. Some cast curious glances their way, but most seemed too preoccupied to pay them much mind.

They soon came upon what appeared to be the pack's main square. A bustling marketplace filled the area, with stalls selling everything from fresh produce to handcrafted goods.

Alisha's eyes lit up at the sight. "Look at all this! It's like a whole world here. Can we take a closer look?"

Alice hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Sure, but let's stick together."

As they wandered through the market, the aromas of freshly baked bread and aromatic herbs filled the air. Alisha found herself drawn to a stall displaying intricate jewellery, each piece seemingly infused with some sort of magical property.

"These are beautiful," she murmured, reaching out to touch a delicate silver necklace.

The shopkeeper, an elderly woman with kind eyes, smiled at her. "You have a good eye, young one. That necklace is said to enhance one's natural abilities."

Alisha's hand froze midair. "Enhanced abilities?" she echoed, her mind racing with the implications.

Alice gently pulled her back. "Thank you, but we're just looking today," he told the shopkeeper politely.

As they moved away, Alisha whispered, "Did you hear that? About enhancing abilities? Do you think it could help me with gaining my powers?"

Alice's brow furrowed. "I'm not sure. But we should be careful about trusting anything here until we know more. Remember, we're still outsiders in many ways."

Their conversation was interrupted by a commotion near the edge of the square. A group of young werewolves seemed to be in some sort of heated argument.

"Maybe we should head back," Alice suggested, his protective instincts kicking in.

But Alisha's curiosity was piqued. "Wait, let's see what's going on. This could be our chance to learn more about this place.”

As they cautiously approached the group, they could hear snippets of the argument. But nothing was clear due to many voices mixed together making it difficult to differentiate.

Suddenly, one of the young werewolves spotted them and called out, "Hey! You're the outsiders, aren't you?”
