Alisha sadly smiled; somehow she felt good after hearing Maya's words. “How did my father make her accept him? It seems like my mother was stubborn, so why did she accept him?”

“He loved her so much. At that time, he was ready to leave everything behind and live like a normal person for your mother. To be honest, everyone was shocked when they found out about it. Usually, Alpha blood or royal blood people fight for power, but he was ready to leave it all,” Maya broke the hug as she excitedly told Alisha.

She had imagined telling a lot of things from the past, thinking that when she found Alisha, she would share everything about her parents. Now, at last, she had found Alisha, and her heart felt calm as she got a chance to tell her these things.

“Wow, Dad seems to be crazily in love with Mom,” Alisha commented, her small wet eyes widening a little as she heard how her father was ready to sacrifice everything for her mother.

She could never imagine anything like this. It seemed a little crazy and totally showed how much her father was in love with her mother.

“You can't even imagine. He was not just crazy about her, he was insane about her. Even my mate never loved me like that. The way he loved your mother, it was like he couldn’t breathe without her. He would die if she got even an inch away from him,” Maya stated, her eyes shining with admiration.

Of course, her mate loved her too, but her brother-in-law was just too much in love. Everyone in the pack called him crazy for it and teased him, but he carried it like a badge—without any shame, he just cherished it all.

As if he didn't care what others thought about him; what mattered was what he thought and felt about his mate.

“Why doesn’t your mate love you the same way?” Alisha cautiously asked, not wanting to hurt Maya's feelings.

“My mate loved me a lot. It’s just because of how the situation played out. Everyone blamed me for your disappearance, as I was not able to find you. He was a healer who healed people through his magic. At that time, we had just come out of a war, so people needed him more than me. I didn't give him any chance and left, taking Levi and Rish with me,” Maya's face fell, not wanting to gag on the sipping emotions she felt in her veins.

“I am sorry. It happened because of me,” Alisha felt guilty about the whole situation.

She could see how it wasn’t only her—everyone had somehow sacrificed so much during the time she was unaware of everything. At least she didn’t know, so she could live her life. But what about the people who did know and for 18 years carried with them the regret?

The pain she could never count, as she had never felt it.

“It’s not your fault, Alisha. None of this was your choice,” Maya reassured her, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder. “We all made decisions based on the circumstances. We hoped for the best, even if it didn’t always turn out that way.”

Alisha nodded, trying to absorb Maya's words. “I just wish things could have been different. I wish I could have known my parents and all of you sooner.”

“We can't change the past,” Maya said softly, “Your father’s love for your mother shows that love can conquer even the most stubborn obstacles. Even the pack will love you till there last breath.”

A tear slipped down Alisha’s cheek as she looked at Maya with gratitude.”Thanks for saying this.”

Maya smiled warmly. “You deserve to know. And you deserve to feel that love too. We’ve waited so long to find you, and now that you’re here, that's what matter."

Alisha felt a mix of sorrow and hope.

“We have a lot to catch up on,” Alisha said. “Tell me more about them—everything you know.”

Maya’s eyes lit up with the promise of shared stories and memories. “I’d love to. What more do you want to ask?”

“I remember you told me that you can't use your wolf, and Levi and Rish also can't. Why is that?” Alisha shot the question, feeling she should know.

“Because when a werewolf leaves the pack without proper protocols, a spell restricts their ability to use their wolf. Levi and Rish were kids at that time, so they didn't develop their wolves, and my wolf was also restricted. Now that I'm back inside the pack, it will gradually return to normal, but I'm not sure how long it will take for Levi and Rish,” Maya explained.

Alisha nodded. “Will you meet your mate then?”

“Maybe. I wrote him a letter before deciding to bring you here, but I haven't received a reply. Either he didn't get the letter or he's angry with me, which is why he didn't reply.”

Alisha scanned Maya's face. She could see the hurt and pain emanating from her eyes after mentioning it.

“Don’t worry. In the end, he's my mate. Even if he's angry with me, I believe things will settle well,” Maya reassured, though she didn't quite believe her own words. In 18 years, a lot can change, but she hoped her mate hadn't.

Alisha listened intently, sensing Maya's uncertainty despite her attempt to sound hopeful. "What if he doesn't forgive you?" Alisha asked gently.

Maya sighed, her shoulders slumping slightly. "If he doesn't, then I'll have to accept it. I made my choices, and I have to face the consequences. But I hope he understands why I did what I did."

"I'm sure he will," Alisha said reassuringly. "If he loves you as much as you say he does, he'll understand."

Maya managed a small smile.

Silence settled between them for a moment before Alisha spoke again. "You mentioned my father wrote letters to my mother. Did she keep them?"

Maya's expression softened with memories. "Yes, she kept all of them, but I don't know where they are now. Your father poured his heart out in those letters. It's amazing how your mother took the time to accept everything, because the letters were truly magical."

Tears welled up in Alisha's eyes. "I wish I could read them.”
