Will You Be My Mate?
"I am a human...!" Azura denied it again. Even though he was at the end of his rope, he tried to keep his secret hidden.
Seeing how he tries to prove that he is not human actually makes him look less like a human. Aiden laughed, he didn't know why Azura was so cute?
"Hahaha...I give up! Alright, you human, are you satisfied?" Aiden changed his body position from his original position and grabbed Azura's hand so Azura could sit with him.
"Why did you stop? Don't you want to continue?"
"Tomorrow I have to get up early to work. Today I'm really tired, let's just sleep, okay?" He said while gently stroking Azura's face. He didn't know why he had to say something like that as if they were a newly married couple.
Azura saw the scars on Aiden's forehead and the corners of his lips that he received during the fight this afternoon. She felt guilty because she had forced Aiden to do something when he needed to rest.
"How about dinner?"
"Oh my, I forgot! Luckily you reminded me!" Aiden immediately rushed to the kitchen to check the grilled salmon which was still in the oven.
He hurriedly opened the oven and was relieved to find that the salmon was cooked perfectly even though it was slightly burnt.
"Guess I'll have to make a new one?"
"Why?"
"Burnt! It's no longer fit to eat!"
"Don't throw it away! Can't waste food? You know there are so many creatures who struggle to get food. So we shouldn't waste food."
"Wow...wow...you're really good at giving advice! Then, you can just eat this!"
"Okay, I'll eat!"
Aiden put the burnt grilled salmon on a plate and served it on the table so Azura could eat it as he said that they shouldn't waste food."
Aiden chuckled and waited for Azura's reaction when she tasted the burnt potatoes and salmon!"
"Please eat, Miss!"
Azura cut the salmon slices with a spoon and put them in her mouth. As Aiden expected, Azura's expression immediately changed.
"Hoek...bitter!"
"Hahaha...how does it taste? Isn't it delicious? Come on, eat it all! We can't waste food, right?"
"But-"
"I'll order a pan of pizza and you just eat the burnt salmon!"
***
Azura opened her eyes, she stretched with her stomach still feeling uncomfortable from devouring the pan of pizza that Aiden ordered. Poor Aiden only ate one piece.
"My stomach doesn't feel right, but that pizza turned out really delicious. I want to eat it again." I mumbled when he regained consciousness and he was talking about food.
He felt very happy and somehow he forgot his purpose of leaving the ocean. He wants to meet Ethan, live with him and ask for the emerald pendant he promised to Witch Lioti. But instead he was trapped in a place he didn't expect with someone he didn't expect either.
Azura lifted her head from the pillow, she scanned this simple room. Where there is only an old bed, a wardrobe and a table and a painting displayed on the wall.
Azura just realized that there was something displayed on the wall. He got out of bed and came closer to see the painting which showed the form of a very scary creature. He didn't know what this creature was because he had never seen it.
"Aiden...!" Azura immediately came out of the room to call Aiden who was preparing breakfast.
"Are you awake? Wash your face first!"
"Aiden, there's something strange in your room!"
"Something strange? What do you mean?"
"I don't know, but it's terrible. Come here!" He said as he pulled Aiden's hand to follow him into the room and showed him something terrible that he meant.
"Here he is!"
"What are you doing? It's just a painting!"
"Painting?"
"It was made with paint and brush!"
"Is that so? But why does it look scary?"
"That's a painting of a wolf, Eleanor painted it as a birthday present for me."
"Is that so? So this terrible creature is a wolf? Does this creature really exist?"
"Of course there are, but they are mostly found in America."
"Where is America?"
"Quite a distant country!"
"So there aren't any here?"
"There might be, but you wouldn't expect to meet any of them."
"Why?"
"That's because they are wild animals, predators who prey on other animals for food. But there is one type of wolf that is different from wolves in general."
"Really?"
"Yes, that type can be said to be a demon in the form of a wolf which can change its form like humans in general. Humans call them werewolves. They still have a very strong instinct to kill and devour other living creatures, not only because they feel hungry. But because killing more prey can show their status as the strongest."
Azura was amazed to hear Aiden's explanation. He realized that there really were creatures other than humans and animals that inhabited the land. However, remembering that he was also not human made him immediately believe what Aiden said.
"Have you ever met a werewolf, Aiden?"
"Yes, I once met a pack of very strong werewolves. I even had dealings with them. You could say that's why I decided to move to this city to avoid their attacks."
"How dangerous! How can you deal with such terrifying creatures? What have you done?"
"I don't know, actually I don't know what I've done. But it seems like they really hate me. Maybe because I'm too strong and handsome, so-"
"I'm serious, Aiden! Are they still teaching you anymore? Is there a chance they'll hurt you again even though you're already living in this city?" Azura looked really worried about him. Her eyes even filled with tears even though she had just heard the story.
Aiden touched her face, giving her a smile which he hoped would make Azura feel calmer.
"You don't need to worry! They won't beat me that easily!"
"But, what if-"
"Are you worried about me?"
"Of course I'm worried about you!"
"Azura!"
"Yes?"
"Will you be my mate?"
"Mate? What do you mean, Aiden?"
"I can't explain it to you right now. But I really need your help. Will you help me, Azura?"
"What are you saying, Aiden? You don't need to beg me, I will definitely help you."
"You promise?"
"I promise."
Aiden smiled, a smile that he was now very comfortable using. He didn't expect that being a good man would be much easier than being a bastard.
Azura hugged him, showing that she really trusted Aiden. Aiden made her forget the sadness and fear she felt. Because of that, he would also do anything to repay Aiden's kindness.
"Thank you, Azura. I'm glad I found you."
"You don't need to hesitate, Aiden. You can ask for my help at any time! I also want to be someone you can rely on." Azura said. He felt happy because he could finally be someone useful to Aiden.
Aiden stared at him for a moment, feeling guilty that he was trying to hide. He was running out of time and he needed someone who could help him right now and it seemed like only Azura could help him.
"Okay, then I'll go first. I've prepared breakfast and lunch for you. Don't try to turn on the stove, do you understand? And don't go anywhere. Wait for me at home."
"I understand, I will definitely wait for you to come home, Aiden."
"Okay, see you?"
"See you, Aiden!"
