Nervous
Aiden admitted very clearly what had happened since the three days Azura had lived with him. He knew Jacob would probably be annoyed that he dared to do that to a girl who had lost her memory.
"Tsk, it turns out it would be better for me to help her get home. I already knew you wouldn't do it seriously!"
"Hey come on, dude! It wasn't me who did it first, but she was the one who kept teasing me, you know? Ah damn, she kept inviting me to breed with her!"
"Breed?"
"That's just the language she uses to talk about sexual relations. She told me that she was in lust period and asked me to mate with her!"
"Stop that nonsense, Aiden. Do you think I'll just believe that?"
"Yes, I understand you won't believe what I say. But the reality is like that! That girl is very strange, her face looks innocent as if she doesn't know anything. But behind it all she is always trying to invite me to breed with her!"
"Hahaha...it seems like she really likes you. For a while at least you have someone who can be by your side, right?" Jacob said. Aiden sighed while smiling sadly.
"For a while, huh?" For him the word temporary is something painful to hear for someone who has lived for 250 years and continues to be lonely without knowing the word 'temporary'
He has seen so many of his human friends die one by one and every time the era changes, he will move from one place to another with a new name and identity.
"Aiden, is dinner ready?" Asked Azura who had come out of the room wearing a simple red dress with a floral pattern. She looks so beautiful with this look. Aiden even found it difficult to look away from Azura.
"You didn't dry your hair?" Aiden asked when he saw Azura's beautiful long hair still looking wet. Azura smiled gently, she was so happy every time Aiden showed a little attention to her.
"How to dry hair?" She asked. Aiden sighed and then went to get a new dry towel and a hair dryer that he rarely used.
"Come here! I'll dry your hair!" He said while asking Azura to sit on a chair, while he used a hair dryer while slowly combing Azura's hair.
"What is that? Why does it feel a bit hot?"
"It's a hair dryer!"
"Is that thing dangerous?"
"This thing is very useful for drying something wet like your hair!"
"Is that so? So, how's dinner going?"
"After this we will have dinner!"
"Okay!"
"So, what did you do all day?"
"Waiting for you!"
"Hahaha...you didn't do anything else?"
"Do what?"
"For example, learning to spell or something,"
"I don't know how to spell. You haven't taught me that!"
"That's right! Well, after dinner, you have to study. Do you understand?"
Azura nodded, she felt so excited even though it was late and not the right time to learn how to spell letters.
After dinner, Aiden was forced to dig through the dust-filled cupboard to look for books that he could use to teach Azura to read and write. However, the used books he had were too worn and pathetic. He felt that Azura would not be able to study well until she bought the right books.
"Okay, it can't be helped. At least just for tonight!" He muttered. He came to Azura who was sitting sweetly on the sofa, waiting for him with a sweet smile that didn't seem to disappear from her beautiful face.
"You look very enthusiastic. Are you sure you want to learn? Are you able to start from the beginning?"
"I-I'm sure! I want to be able to read recipe books so I can cook for you, Aiden." She answered innocently. Aiden's heart was beating fast, Azura often made him feel anxious and embarrassed.
"Yeah, okay. Let's get started!"
Azura sobbed while covering her face with a chair pillow. She felt very sad and hurt after 45 long minutes where Aiden relentlessly scolded and scolded her.
She had difficulty distinguishing numbers and although this was the first time she had learned to spell, she did much worse than a three year old. Meanwhile, Aiden, who felt tired mentally and mentally, tried to rest his soul by leaning his head on the sofa.
He almost gave up, but this was Azura's first day learning how to spell and he shouldn't just give up. He realized that his ability to maintain patience was so low that sometimes he often lost control and said something that hurt other people. Aiden knew that was his bad character and now, he felt very guilty because he had made Azura cry.
He raised his head, turned to the side where Azura was still sobbing. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly before finally laying his head on Azura's lap.
Aiden held Azura's hand and asked her to stroke his head gently. Realizing Aiden was lying on her lap made Azura surprised. She remembered that Ethan had also done this before when they looked at the stars in the sky together. She rubbed Ethan's head until the young man fell asleep.
She felt very nervous because the man lying on her lap was not Ethan when she didn't have legs, but fins for swimming. This man is a stranger who in a short time has become part of the journey of her new life as a human.
"A-Aiden, what are-"
"You don't mind?"
"I-I-" Azura felt nervous, she could feel Aiden's warmth and it made her feel uneasy.
Aiden kissed her hand, showing a warm smile that made Azura want to cry even more. She didn't mind, not at all. She just felt confused because she was starting to feel something different in her heart now.
She gently stroked Aiden's head while humming the song she used to sing every time Ethan fell asleep in her lap. Her melodious voice made the atmosphere very peaceful, as if they were in a different world.
Aiden was impressed, in his entire life, he had never heard a voice as melodious and beautiful as this, making him feel empty and strange.
