XXXVIII

**Haru**
Last night was the first time I've ever felt so much fear. Takato and I were trying to cheer up my father when my phone started ringing. It was a private number but I answered it.

It was the voice of a panicked woman who said that a Yuki told her to call me and to bring help to the south docks because his life was in danger. He left them alone and ran in hopes to buying time and they were scared as she and the people in the background cried.

I didn't waste a second to get the rescue team to the port before we headed to the field after a lot of conviction on why I should be on the field.

It was like I could feel Yuki as I separated from the team and found him struggling with someone. He was terrified, much more terrified than how he looked in the video that revealed my sins to me.

I didn't waste time before I aimed my gun at my target and left a gaping hole on his head. He fell down and the moment Yuki saw me, he broke down hysterically. I hugged him as I whispered soft words to him but he couldn't stop crying. My eyes trailed down to his clothes and I saw he was bleeding so much.

I carried him in my hands as I ran towards the awaiting ambulance who immediately handled Yuki. He was having a miscarriage and they were doing everything they could to save him as I focused on comforting him.

I sat in the lobby, waiting for when the doctors would come out from the emergency room. I was so scared because the eyes Yuki gave me were scary. He knew something was wrong and he was afraid but he was clinging onto me for hope, hope that I would protect him. It didn't take long, my dad, Rin, Kirito, in-laws and Akio came inside the hospital.

"How is he?" Dad asked as I shook my head.

"Still waiting." I said as Rin sat by my side and held my hand in comfort.

The door opened and the doctor stepped out with a relieved look on his face. He walked up to me as all of us stood up.

"His safe, he just needs to stay for recovery."

"And the baby?" I asked, wincing at how my voice trembled.

"Safe. That baby is a strong, lucky one. As strong as her mom."

"It's a girl?" I asked and the doctor nodded. Everyone sighed in relief before Rin and Hinata started to cry.

"Can we see him?" Hinata asked as she tried to get her emotions under control.

"Yes but he won't wake up in awhile. He'll have to stay in the hospital so we can observe him so one person can stay for the night and the rest get things he'll probably need." The doctor said before he bowed and then continued on his way.

The first three to enter the room was I and the twin siblings. I sat by Yuki as I held his cold hands before properly covering him with blanket. It was a private room and the best one at that so the equipment were topnotch.

"Your so strong. Rushing into danger like some hero even if you were scared but your also an idiot. I promise you when we go home, I'll never let you out of my sight, I'll never lose you again." I said as I cried while kissing our joined hands over and over again.

Hinata and Shino talked to the sleeping Yuki who was pale but alive. I knew that Shino cried the moment he stepped out of the room as Rin and Akio entered. It was heartbreaking how Shino cried that seeing him like this brought bad memories of the past, we buried behind us.

I let Rin and Akio scold and comfort Yuki as I left the room for a moment so that Kirito would enter the room, which he did. I left them to talk to Yuki before detective Keita walked to me.

"Mr Aizawa. Can we talk?" He asked as I nodded before we walked away from the rest of my family.

"Well we rescued twenty three individuals who were victims just like your husband. Four were pregnant among them and one of them gave birth immediately. We're going to handle them and help them find their families or good places that will take care of them as well as therapy. We're giving that organization a sweep and we'll rescue every recorded victim sold." Keita informed me as I nodded before looking at him.

"And the head of the organization?"

He sighed before he shook his head. "We were so close to capturing him but at the last second he committed suicide. A bullet to the head before his body fell I to the ocean and was devoured by sharks. The image is still livid in my head." He explained as I closed my eyes before I felt something soft touching my chest.

"Before he killed himself, he asked us to give you this. He said it was urgent." He said before I collected the envelope that was stained with blood.

I opened it carefully as I unfolded the paper and read.

*This is an awkward request to make but I know you know the truth thanks to our mother. Even if I did something evil, I know you won't let a child suffer especially not Yuki. If you got this letter then I'm supposedly dead which I am thankful for.
I have a son in an orphanage. His three years and he has no one to take care of him when I'm gone. He stays in Little Angels Orphanage. The moment the sisters see this letter, they'll let you adopt him. Take care of him for me. His name is Mikaela, Mika for short and he has no last name. Give him one.
As I conclude, tell Yuki that I ask for his forgiveness. Even if he wanted to save me, I couldn't be saved but if he wants to save a part of me then save my son. Let him have what I never had...a real family.
Nakamura.

I closed the letter and put it neatly into the envelope. I sighed as I nodded at Keita who shook me and then went on his way. I joined my family who were waiting for me patiently.

"I'll spend the night with Yuki. You guys have to go home." I said as everyone nodded.

"I'll get some new clothes for you." Dad said and I thanked him.

"What about the man who kidnapped Yuki?" Kirito asked as I frowned.

"His dead. Committed suicide." I said before everyone kept silent.

"We'll see in the morning. Bye." Shino said and then they all started to leave.

"Dad before you go, can we talk?" I asked and then my dad nodded before he waited behind.

"I talked with mom before she turned herself in. I know that Nakamura is my half-brother." I confessed and he gave a weak smile.

"Are you okay?"

"As messed up as it sounds, I wished he didn't die and just let himself be captured but I'm okay. It's what he wrote about that I'm worried about." I said as I handed the letter to my dad who took it and read.

I watched the unbelievable expression my father made before he faced me.

"I won't lie when I say we have one messed up family." I said earning a soft chuckle from my father.

"We'll deal with this tomorrow, I'll gather information about this kid." Dad said before he handed the letter back to me and hugged me.

"I'll tell Takato the good news." My father added before I watched him leave.

I slept by Yuki's side the whole night but what woke me up was the feeling of gentle, warm hands running through my curls.

"Goodmorning, my alpha." Yuki said with a weak smile on his face before I stood up and then I hugged him. I started to plant kisses all over his face as he gave a hearty laugh.

"I missed you so much that everyday was painful without you." I confessed before Yuki touched my face.

"I missed you too." Yuki said before he pulled me to kiss that I missed. He didn't taste as sweet as he usually tasted but having those lips on mine was perfect and I wouldn't want any other lips.

I was peeling apples as Yuki ate from the ones I sliced when the hospital door opened and Takato came running.

"Momma!" He shouted as he cried before Yuki dropped the fruits and got off the bed and hugged Takato.

"I missed you, why did you leave me." Takato cried as Yuki cried and patted his hair as he comforted Takato.

"I'm sorry Tokata, I promise I'll never leave you ever again. I missed you my sweet boy." Yuki said before he started cleaning Takato's eyes and placed kisses on his face that had him giggling before he hugged Yuki again.

"Baby kicked." Takato shouted as he excitedly placed his hand on Yuki's stomach. His eyes shimmered as he giggled.

"Papa, baby kicked. Come touch." Takato said as I walked to Yuki and placed my hand on his stomach and I felt the sensation and smiled.

"She really did kick. She's perfect." I said as I helped Yuki on the bed who was surprised.

"Baby is a girl?" Yuki asked as I nodded and he gave an excited smile.

"We have to come up with cute names, decorate her room, buy her clothes. She's actually a calm girl, she doesn't kick as much as Takato when I carried him." Yuki said excitedly as I was glad that he was bursting with energy.

I left Takato and Yuki to make up for lost time as I discussed the issue of my nephew with my dad. I was in full motion to adopt him because he was innocent and needed to know his family.

"Haru I think that I want to be the one to adopt Mika." My dad said as I looked at him.

"Is it because of mom?" I asked and dad shook his head.

"Your mom may have made some mistakes and she left a hole in my heart but I have that feeling that this child will feel that hole for me. He needs a family and I need a joy, plus you have a family that love you, something I lack that is why I want to build one with this child because his my blood even if we have no connection." Dad explained and to be honest, I understood his pain.

"I understand and I support you but know this dad...you and Mika have a family with us and mom even if she doesn't deserve it. Please visit her just once." I said before dad nodded and collected the letter from me.

"I'll go handle the adoption. You take care of your husband." Dad said before he walked away as I entered Yuki's room.

Takato and him were laying on the bed as they watched a video in a tablet and started laughing before Yuki's attention focused to me and he smiled. After hours of playing, Takato finally passed out in Yuki's bosom.

"Haru there's something I have to tell you about..."

"Nakamura Ray Yamada. I'm aware that his my brother." I confessed as Yuki kept silent.

"What happened to him?"

"He committed suicide. Sharks ate his body so the remains they could find was cremated and his ashes are buried peacefully."

"Oh I see." I watched as Yuki gave a very sad expression. "He wasn't a bad person, he was just wasn't someone who knew what love was. That was how his father raised him to be."

"Well I think your completely wrong. There was some good in him. He wrote a letter that dad has in his custody." I revealed as Yuki laid Takato's head on the pillow and his hand went to our baby bump.

"What did it say?"

"He asked for forgiveness from you even if he knew that he couldn't be saved. Plus..." I paused as I looked into Yuki's eyes. "He has a son, a three years old son and requested that we take care of him because his no longer around."

"What are we going to do? I don't mind the new addition in the house after all, the more the merrier." Yuki said as he widened his hand making him look like a cute bunny.

"Well that's nice but dad wants to adopt him. He and my mom got a divorce and his been kind of lonely especially after she went to prison."

"Has her hearing been fixed?" Yuki asked and I nodded.

"Next month." I responded and then Yuki's eyes grew sad. "What's wrong?" I asked before Yuki held my hand.

"I need a favor. There was this omega, Claire. She was really nice and was helping me during my time there but she was killed because she was in contact with the police. I was hoping if the police could find her body so that we could hold a proper burial for her."

"Of course. Anything for you and the little." I said as I placed a kiss on his stomach before giving him a chaste kiss.

"Yuki, your awake." Hinata said as she walked in before Yuki placed his finger on his mouth and pointed at Takato who was snoring softly.

I watched as our friends came inside two by two and started to talk to Yuki, leaving a bright smile on his face. This was my family and I was thankful to have one.
