Chapter 10.

Third person pov
Gabrielle and Gabriella arrive at the same time with Gabrielle throwing looks of disdain at her sister but Gabriella just chooses to ignore her and keeps her hands clinged to Martin, who happily paraded around with a beautifully dressed Gabriella.
He could not remember the last time his friend had put so much effort in looking good and he felt proud to be her date for the night.
Fabian, alongside his girlfriend, Mia, approaches Gabriella and Fabian doesn't hide his flirtatious comments on seeing how his co worker looked.
"Jesus Ella, are you trying to seduce me or what?" He says harmlessly, engulfing her in a hug that infuriates Mia but she keeps her cool and pretends to admire Ella although she couldn't stand the sight of her.
She kept counting the seconds he held her in a hug, literally pulling him off her when it exceeded ten seconds, earning a curious stare from both Martin and Ella but since Fabian knew how she was, he did not push further.
"Hello Mia, it's nice seeing you again," Gabriella greets calmly and Mia tries to reply as politely as she could but one could tell it was just fake courtesy.
Fabian and Martin get engrossed in their conversation and decide to go get drinks for their respective partners giving Mia thé chance to drop the act and show her real colors to Ella.
"Listen to me you stupid bitch, I know you're trying to look pretty so everyone can talk about you and I really don't care if they do but you better keep your dirty claws off my man or you'll have me to deal with and I promise you, it ain't gonna be pretty," she warns sternly, not really surprising Ella who had seen it coming and didn't bother to mutter a response.
Some might find her gullible but she knew better than to throw words with an immature brat like Mia. Unknown to her, Mia had already texted Elle to come to where they were and almost immediately Elle receives the text, she eagerly struts through the hall leaving her mother in the company of two older men who couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful she was.
As soon as Gabriella saw her twin walk towards them, she knew Mia had something to do with it but was ready to take in whatever she had to say, as long as she made it quick.
"Good evening, little sister. You look surprisingly pretty tonight," she compliments nicely, signaling Mia to excuse them.
"What do you want, Gabrielle?" Gabriella replies sharply, hoping her sister would disappear just as quickly as she appeared.
"To wish you luck sweetie, although I'm sure you'll be a sore loser as usual," Elle taunts and Ella remains mute, only rolling her eyes at her sister's prediction.
"I want us to make a bet to make things interesting." Gabrielle says, moving closer to her sister and bringing her lips to her ear to avoid anyone hearing what she had to say.
"If you win this challenge, I will never bother you ever again, in fact, you won't even remember I exist but if I win, I want you to quit designing for good." She whispers quietly, moving away from Gabriella, who looked like she was about to break into guffaws but was able to hold it in.
"You are beyond demented Elle and I won't play your stupid games. If you were thinking that I'd say yes to something so dumb then you really don't know me, you dumb piece of shit," she replies back to Elle who looked completely outraged.
Suddenly, they noticed the attention they were both getting as the crowd had started to pay attention to both sisters and they started to compare them and whisper loudly on who they thought looked prettier.
Gabriella wished the ground could just open to swallow her up because unlike her sister, she hates receiving unwanted attention and in this case, they just couldn't stop comparing her to Elle and it was obvious they all shipped Elle since she was the best dressed twin and the famous one.
She kept hearing comments on how Elle looked better and prettier and although she didn't care much how she looked, she still didn't want to hear people rub it in her face.
On the other hand, Elle enjoyed the attention and happily smiled at onlookers who had already started taking pictures of the two sisters. Rebecca realizes that her twin daughters were the topic on everyone's lips and she was happy to know Elle had outshone her other good for nothing daughter.
Gabriella stood there alongside Elle, unable to move or talk but all she wanted to do was die because it was like she was reliving high school all over again. She tries her best to look pretty and even though Elle had the upper hand, she was still the people's favorite. She felt someone wrap a hand around her waist and when she looked beside her, she was surprised to see Liam standing right next to her with a short and beautiful smile on his face.
Liam's pov
My mom and I were discussing the upcoming show we had and I cut her off for a while when I spotted Gabriella and that rude sister of hers together.
It was quite obvious Ella wasn't comfortable but I ignored the scene thinking it was none of my business and I also did not wish to make her more uncomfortable. I feel someone tap my shoulder from behind and I turn to a taller guy whose face looked quite familiar but I couldn't place it.
"May I help you?" I ask, staring back at him weirdly and excusing my mom who was already distracted by a friend.
"Sorry to disturb you Mr Helton, I'm Martin Deville, a friend of Gabriella Johansson your employee and I'd really appreciate it if you could do me a favor," he asks politely and I decide to listen to him.
"Go ahead!" I replied.
"You consider Gaby to be a friend, right?" He asks and I stare at him for a while contemplating on whether or not Gaby and I were actually friends.
The truth is that I found her interesting when we met and would honestly love to be friends with her but since she wasn't very comfortable around me, I didn't push it.
"She's a friend I guess, so what's your point?" I ask, wondering where this conversation was going.
"I need you to save her from that uncomfortable situation," he points towards her direction and I stare at him confusedly.
"I know it's none of your business and it's not in my place to ask you for this but you're the only person that I could think of. I can't walk up there to help her cause that would only worsen her situation but if you go there, they'll all shut up and let her be out of respect for you," he explained and he definitely sounded angry and desperate.
As much as I was curious to know why he didn't want to go himself, I decided to put it off and do as he asked because the fact is I've been looking for a good excuse to talk to her and now that I know she needs help, I'll gladly help her.
"Are you gonna help?" Martin's voice breaks through my thoughts and I nod briefly before immediately walking up to Gabriella and wrapping my hands possessively around her waist.
"Liam?" She breathes out nervously and I wink at her turning to her twin sister who looked gobsmacked.
"Hey, you're Gabrielle, right?" I ask, smiling at her sweetly and she scoffs.
"Why the hell are you here?" She hisses.
"He's my boss Gabrielle." Gabriella chimes in and if I thought she looked surprised before, well now she looked like she just won a lottery.
"You're her boss?" She asks with a weird smile on her face, staring back at Ella and I creepily.
"So you're dating your boss?" She asks and I see just where she's going with it.
"She's a friend not a girlfriend. Let's go Ella." I snap harshly and pull Gabriella away quickly before things get worse and she doesn't say a word.
She looked surprised and in thoughts and as for Elle, she looked amused which was weird but also none of my business. I've done my part which was to get her away from there.
"Thank you for helping me but you can get back to whatever you were doing now. I'm sorry about the inconvenience," She says as soon as we're out of people's sight, showing off her beautiful smile and I swear, I'm completely lost in her beautiful brown eyes.
Unlike what people were saying, I actually think both sisters are equally beautiful, they even have the same face and in my own opinion, the outer beauty isn't all that matters, it's what's inside that does.
"Is there something on my face?" She asks shyly, breaking through my cloud of thoughts.
"No, no, definitely not the case. You just look very beautiful." I reply honestly and she blushes.
"Thank you and you look dashing as well." She compliments but before I could reply to her, we're interrupted by Martin who engulfs her in a tight hug and she hugs him back tightly, making me wonder if I'm out of place here.
He pecks her forehead and she rests her head on his shoulder which only made me more uncomfortable.
"I'm gonna go now. I'll see you around Gabriella." I interrupt their moment and I'm about to walk away when she stops me and pulls me down to her height to whisper something in my ear.
"Thanks again Liam, I definitely owe you a drink." She whispers quietly, making me chuckle.
"I look forward to Gabriella," I whisper back and she bites her lip shyly, before walking off with Martin and leaving me completely speechless.
"Hey sweetie," I heard a very familiar voice speak and when I turned around, it was none other than Layla, my girlfriend.
