Chapter 07.

Gabrielle
"I can't believe what you're telling me sweetie. That stupid child has the guts to go work for the enemy and go against her father's company? I thought she said she loved her father," Mm mom scoffs angrily after I'd told her about Ella's new job.
"That's right mom. That insignificant no good human being had the guts to actually challenge me mom, she had the audacity to try to be me again but mommy dearest mark my words, I'm not gonna let her take my spotlight. Ever!" I assure her and she smiles in satisfaction.
If you're wondering why I'm so against Ella's success, it's simply because I hate her. I hate her like I have never hated anyone.
She and my father are the people I detest the most in my life and fortunately, one of them is six feet under.
"If Ella thinks she can outshine me mom, I'll kill her because the only way she can succeed in this life is over my dead body," I spit out angrily, feeling the urge to strangle my sister with my bare hands.
"What are you thinking of doing Elle?" My mom asks sullenly and I smile slyly.
"I'm thinking of a way to destroy Ella of course but first I need to pay her a visit, I mean it's been a while since I saw my little sister and I have really missed trampling all over her self esteem." I reply calmly, feeling a bit excited to see my sister for the first time.

"Good morning miss, how may I help you?" The receptionist at 'AT' asks politely.
"I'm here to see someone, she works here," I respond calmly and she stares at me like I'd lost my marbles.
"What do you mean by you're here to someone who works here? Don't you work here?" She asks and after a few long seconds, I realize what she's talking about.
"I know what you mean, but you're mistaken. I'm not the one that works here, it's my twin sister," I cleared up quickly.
"Oh, so Ella has a twin and she never mentioned you. You two look so identical, you're literally the same person," she chirps and I scowl.
"Could you please direct me to her office?" I changed the subject to avoid losing my cool.
"My apologies but I can't do that, only staff are allowed to go beyond the waiting room but I can call her down if it's important," she explains and I agree to her second option.

"Thanks again Fabian," I smiled cheerfully at Fabian, who although had a stern expression was far from angry with me. He shut me off for a while but that didn't last long since he wasn't the type to hold a grudge.
"Hey Gabriella, you have a call from the reception," Tanya, my coworker/friend, informs me and I immediately run to my table to take the call.
"Hey Shannon, what can I do for you?" I ask the ever bubbly and talkative Shannon, who I might consider as a friend the day she quits being a gossip.
"Sorry to disturb you Gabriella but someone's here to see you, she says it's important." She replies and I wonder who it is cause I could already guess it was a woman and I literally have no female friends except my colleagues.
"Did she give you a name?" I ask.
"Yes, she's your twin sister Gabrielle." She informs me and I deadpan.
The only reason Elle would ever come here is to either taunt me or to check how badly I'm suffering so she could make it worse.
"Tell her I'll be down in a minute." I reply calmly before dropping the call.
"What in the world of Jupiter does she want from me now?" I ask myself out loud, feeling anxious and nervous at the same time. I honestly hope she doesn't cause me any trouble.

"Hey lil sis," Elle chirps happily the moment she sees me come out of the elevator and what made it more awkward, was that she hugged me. She hugged me for the first time in twenty six years.
"Are you okay Elle?" I ask slowly, wondering if she had finally lost her marbles.
"Yes, of course I'm okay. I'm better than ever, but let's go to the cafe opposite and we'll talk more there," she replies smiling at me and I swear, I felt a cold shiver run down my spine.
This sneaky bitch is up to something cause I'm not buying this dumb act.
"Fine but stop smiling like that, it makes you look older than you actually are," I whisper calmly and she sticks her tongue out childishly and mouths 'whatever'.
"Thank you Shannon," I say with a small smile at the receptionist, who has been watching us attentively.
"You're welcome Gaby. Nice to meet you, second Gaby," she chuckles loudly but immediately stops, when we both sneer at her.
"It's Ella and Elle miss," Elle snaps harshly and walks away and I tag along.

"You can drop the act now Elle, why are you here?" I get straight to the point as soon as we get to the cafe.
"Relax lil sis, let me order first," she replies and true to her word, she actually places her order.
"We're twin sisters you dummy. Stop calling me lil sis." I point out the obvious, she scoffs.
"Yes we are, but I am 19 minutes and ten seconds older than you which makes me fully in my right to call you lil sis." She states childishly and I keep quiet.
About three minutes later, the waiter brought her cup of coffee and since I already felt desperate and uncomfortable, I had to snap.
"Now can you talk?" I hissed snappily and the bitch finally dropped the act.
"Don't talk to me like that you fool! I obviously didn't come here to congratulate you on your new job." She states the obvious but to be honest, it kinda hurt since a part of me wished she'd be happy for me.
"So what is it you want?" I ask dryly.
"I want you to resign!" she says it out boldly and I stare at her in awe.
"What did you just say?" I ask again, hoping I heard wrong.
"I said quit your job," she repeated herself confidently.
"Are you crazy Elle? Are you demented or something?" I ask furiously, fighting hard to suppress my anger.
"You're the only one crazy here Ella. You're crazy if you think I'm gonna let you succeed in taking my spotlight, you envious good for nothing." She spits out and suppressing my anger was no longer an option.
"You know what, you can go straight to hell Elle!" I snap at her, fuming.
"Oh that's where you'll be lil sis, if you don't do as I asked and look for another profession. I'll mop the floor with you so badly, you'll end up killing yourself," she threatens and I laugh, a short dry laugh that most definitely lacks humor.
"Are you that insecure Elle? So much so, you took the time to come to my workplace to threaten me just because you're scared I'll overshadow you." I fire back, feeling proud of my comeback.
"You think I am insecure? Says the girl who can't even defend herself. The girl who went from grace to grass and the idiot, who's trying to copy her sister in every way. Listen carefully Gabriella, if you dare, I repeat, if you dare to challenge me, I'll put you six feet under without any remorse so be warned baby sis cause I'm not playing around. If we're done, I'll take my leave now. See you never, I hope," she threatens, gets up and when she's about to walk away I stop her.
"I won't stop until I make your worst nightmares become a reality Elle. I may not have had those thoughts before but right now, I'm considering bringing you down so you know just how it feels to be in my shoes." I say to her before getting up and walking out, leaving her obviously shocked and furious.
