Don't Want to Be Blamed Again
"Aissh! I guess I'm just crazy for worrying about the girl who should be my slave!" Arthur ruffled his hair roughly as his mind and heart were out of sync.
Arthur was still standing in front of Livy who was still lying on the bed with regular breathing. Slowly but surely, Arthur tried to hold Livy's slightly flat stomach with his right hand.
"Is it true that I really started to love Livy? Somehow I don't want to lose this baby either. I was so worried when Natasha was really going to make Livy miscarry. I might have killed Natasha if Livy had miscarried. But it looks like none of that happened, thank goodness," out of nowhere, a smile suddenly graced Arthur's lips.
"Eunghh..." Livy suddenly moaned and that made Arthur realize what he had said earlier.
'Oh my God! Don't let Livy hear what I said earlier!' Arthur thought and immediately removed his hand from Livy's stomach. Livy opened her eyes and saw that to her right was Arthur standing next to her.
"Are you awake?" Asked Arthur who glanced at Livy with a somewhat different behavior than usual. Livy looked at Arthur while holding her head and nodded.
"How's your stomach? Does it hurt after getting hit by the banister at the office?" Arthur asked again.
"Yeah, it's fine. It's just a little sore," Livy replied.
'How long are you going to confess about this child, Livy? You hid this child from me.' Arthur thought.
"Well, I was a little worried earlier because you were in a lot of pain when you were only hit by the metal. I thought you had a cut on the inside of your stomach either stomach or intestines," said Arthur.
"No, everything is fine. It was very painful especially if you didn't go to the hospital right away. Maybe if it's a little late I'll die," Livy's words this time somewhat offended Arthur's inner self of course.
"What? Then who took you to the hospital earlier? I'll pay him handsomely," Arthur immediately took out his wallet from his pants pocket but stopped when he heard Livy's words.
"No need, he's your own father, Mr. George," Arthur's eyes bulged in disbelief.
"What?"
"Yes, Mr. George luckily saw me in pain and rushed me to the hospital. If Mr. George had been late, I would have died a painful death by the stairs because of Natasha, your secretary," Livy quipped as she looked away. Livy is allowed to express her opinion, right? She is also a human being who wants to be heard, not always blamed.
This time, what Livy said was all fact. Not once was there a lie there. Arthur folded his arms across his chest. As if he didn't care about what Livy said earlier, Arthur felt more that he was the most right and Natasha was also right.
"But it's also your own fault," Arthur said. Livy frowned while not accepting that Arthur continued to blame her.
"My fault? Natasha pushed me, and you're still blaming me? Oh... is it because Natasha is your special girl that you would rather defend her than your own wife who is in pain under the stairs?" Livy argued with a full sense of emotion that overcame her who was starting to overflow now. Plus pregnant people are very sensitive if they are always cornered like this.
"It was your fault, did I ever ask you to come to my company's event? Didn't I? Then why did you come?" Arthur's sarcasm as well. If a man always thinks with logic, Livy as a woman certainly thinks using feelings. It's different, but that's what makes Livy lose this debate with Arthur. If Livy thinks about it, what Arthur said is true, but not entirely true.
"But I am your wife, Arthur. And I have the right to come when you have important events at your company!" Livy argued in a slightly raised tone. Meanwhile, Arthur was already smiling lightly. Even so, Arthur's eyes still looked like he felt sorry for Livy.
"Says who, huh? You're just a contract wife. Have you forgotten that already?" Arthur raised one eyebrow as he said that.
"I'm still your wife for now, right? So there's no reason whatsoever for you not to invite me. But you put Natasha first, and when I was in pain you left me without even thinking about how I was doing. Maybe you really want me to die, don't you? Then kill me now!" Livy challenged. Arthur could only sigh roughly.
Arthur was actually tired anyway because he had come home from work, plus he had to respond to his wife who was in an unstable emotion like this. If usually, Arthur would be more angry and immediately play his hand, now it's the opposite. Arthur is more like looking sorry for Livy, especially after the incident this afternoon.
"Never mind, I'm tired. I don't want to argue over such a trivial matter. Ok, sorry, if I was wrong for not helping you this afternoon, is that it? I'll go!" Arthur said and immediately left Livy alone in the room.
"Anyway, it's not like Arthur to apologize. Usually Arthur would be more angry with me if I rambled on for a long time and blamed him. Strange, has Arthur started to love me too?" Said Livy, who was still staring at the door to her room, which was still open because Arthur had not closed it again.
"It's good that Arthur has started to love me, that means he will accept this baby, right? Should I tell Arthur about this baby?" Livy felt indecisive whether to tell him or not.
"But... if I tell him, I'm afraid Arthur will become even more evil and torture me. Especially since Natasha also dared to hurt me this afternoon. I have to be more careful and won't lose to an ordinary human like Natasha. If Natasha dared to harm me, it means she also knew about my pregnancy, but from whom? Did Arthur already know about my pregnancy and hid it from me? I must not underestimate this. This time I will make another plan with Willson to watch Natasha so that she can no longer harm me." Livy said so confidently.
