YOU BELONG TO ME!
**Rebecca’s story**
Damn it, Dominic! Why did you have to show up here? It almost jeopardized the mission, but in the end, it all worked out as I had hoped. As soon as I saw him, I moved away from where the girls were so as not to endanger them. An hour later, I found out that they had already released them in complete secrecy.
“What was he thinking?” Logan asked me, nervously pacing the room even more angry.
“I’m more and more convinced he came after me.” Logan’s face suddenly relaxed.
“This man is in love. He has no idea with whom” he laughed frantically, throwing his hands into his pockets. “Now that the mission is over, so unexpectedly, what do we do? Do we go back to New York?” The offer was tempting because these idiots had yet to be caught. But there was still something to be done here. I needed to talk to the local police to put them under arrest and, with the evidence I would provide, to bust them.
“Normally I would have told you yes, but tomorrow morning we’ll have to pay a visit to the police and leave everything we have that has to do with this gang. But for tonight, we still have the invitations to the big party, right? Why don’t we celebrate our success? Until the bad people notice they’re missing the girls and it all goes bad?”
“And if they do, they won’t connect with us. It’s a good thing they didn’t catch Dominic out there, because now he’d definitely have his hands on his chest.”
“Oh, come on, don’t take things so tragically. He’s a grown man, he can take care of himself. Now please give me some privacy. I want to get ready for the party.”
“Okay, boss!”
“Hey, don’t boss me now”
Logan stepped out just as I gave him my steady gaze. I remained alone. Oh, God, did Dominic really come for me? Declan was with him. I was hoping he wouldn’t get in trouble and I’d have to expose myself. It will all be over quickly, anyway. Just the party and we’ll be back tomorrow. I would have to make up stories to keep Dominic away. My reasons were various, but probably the most important was that he hid so much from me. It was impossible not to find out one way or another.
Finally, it was time for the party and I was pacing around my room, nervous about it. My dress was ready. A long, elegant black lace mermaid dress was waiting for me to wear. I didn’t get many opportunities to wear dresses like this, but I had to start somewhere. I still didn’t feel too comfortable in this type of gown, but I’ll get used to it.
Here and there, the dress has transparent spots placed in just the right places to reveal parts of my skin, enough to make someone wonder what might be underneath. The dress had little black lace flowers that lightly covered my breasts and stretched just above my knees. If you were asking, the view was delicious. The bottom of the dress was in layers, many of them, which made it stunning.
My makeup and hair had to be perfect, too. Shades of grey adorned my eyes, a natural blush caressed my already flushed cheeks, red lipstick and black mascara all portrayed the image of a woman ready for the next confrontation. However, was I ready for the man of my life?
I took one last look in the mirror, admiring my hair. I let it hang in curls, covering my bare back. The final touch was my well-known vanilla scent mixed with fresh flowers, which made Dominic go crazy every time he was near me.
I walked out of the room intending to find Logan, but instead, someone else found me. Dominic was standing in the hallway, as if waiting for me. I stopped in my tracks, catching my breath and trying to focus on my goal, finding Logan and heading to the party. When I went to walk past him, he blocked my way with his firm hand. An electric wave of electricity shot through my body as he placed his arm on my belly. The place he touched instantly heated up, and the air thickened so much I was almost hyperventilating. Seeing the impact, he was having on me, he pushed things a little further. He filled the space between us with his massive body coming dangerously close. My heart rose to my throat. My damn legs betrayed me and I simply couldn’t stand. The next thing I did was lean forward, putting my weight on him. He noticed my dizziness and supported my body with his. It took me a few minutes to free myself from his spell. The places where our bodies touched burned with a fierceness I was still trying to understand. His lips were almost touching mine. His warm breath was a mixture of fresh mint and sweet cinnamon that had me wanting to taste him.
I stood there, trapped between his hard body and the icy wall, staring into his gorgeous, hypnotic eyes. He wore a sleek black suit; with a grace and masculinity I could only see in him. A pure white shirt emerged from under his jacket. The vivid color of his tie caught my eye and then all the way up to his full lips, trying to resist the cursed temptation to devour them. As if naturally, his magnetism drew me closer and with slightly parted lips, I leaned in even closer, almost kissing him. Anticipating my movement and intent, he gave in to the game I had created. It was so exciting to know and feel all the tension I was feeling. It was mutual. I could feel that. The attraction between us was so obvious, anyone could see it.
It was still hurt that Dominic lied to me, or rather hid the truth from me, but I couldn’t say I was that angry with him, because I certainly wasn’t seeing the position I was in right now. I was sad that things ended up the way they did, but deep down, I guess I have forgiven him.
It scared me to be part of his world. There were no things in this life that scared me, but being part of his existence made me anxious.
I would have liked to lie down on all my weapons and let this love grow for him. This fire would consume me until there was nothing left, so I had to do this. I concluded that Dominic Stone, as a man, was easy to love. Our situation was not so easy. So many things were against us, such as my attack, my fiancé’s death, his hidden things, and maybe the fact that we have been away from each other for a while, although distance in time wouldn’t be a problem for me. I could feel how my love for him, though I was fighting it with everything I had, grew stronger, indestructible as the days went by. It was hard for me when I didn’t see him, when he wasn’t around. I missed hearing his voice. I missed him.
Now he was inches away from me, invading my personal space, staring at me. God knew what he was thinking at this moment. In fact, I didn’t have a doubt I knew exactly what he was thinking. Restless, he was bouncing from one foot to the other, leaving me no space to move. If I did, I’d be touching places that could start a full-blown war. The kind of war Dominic would surely win. A second smile appeared on my lips at that thought.
“You look ravishing, Rebecca!”
The tone of his voice was a low whisper next to my ear. Tingling shivers resurrected my aroused body. I was already arching along his hard torso, but making inhuman efforts to stay focused. I couldn’t do it around him, though, because the heat and tension were so great that all I could do was let myself be carried away. But I mumbled something, though.
“What are you doing here?” That’s not what I wanted to ask him, but he didn’t know I’d already seen him.
“Maybe I should ask you the same thing, Rebecca,” he answered back, giving me an inch of room. It was still hard to breathe. God, I didn’t understand what was happening to me around this man.
I wanted so much for him to touch me, to kiss me, but something must be stopping him. The fact was, as time went on, the more I wanted him. To no avail, I kept telling myself it wasn’t right.
“Well, I don’t think that’s any of your business” I became emotionless because that was my only weapon against this desire that was becoming increasingly consuming.
Dominic’s gaze suddenly changed. I had never seen so much anger mixed with hunger in his eyes before. He stretched his hand above my head.
“My business is you! I own everything you are. Everything you do belongs to me. Everything you breathe I own. You belong to me! Don’t you ever forget that!”
