WHAT DOES LUNA MEAN?

**Dominic’s story**
Having this woman so close will definitely make it hard for me to cope. I’ve also somehow decided not to give up acting. If I did, I’d lose my mind around her.
I was trying my hardest to be a proper gentleman around her. I felt a strong desire burning inside me. That she was blind I was not rejoicing, but if she could have seen me, she would have witnessed the desire in my eyes. I barely knew her, but I had the sensation I’d known her forever.
Once we were installed in my house, I realized I couldn’t let her alone while I was on set, so I had to convince one of my best friends to move in with me. And that was how I called Megan. I was certain she could be of tremendous help.
And because it was a bad idea that I should be the only one with her in the house, even if she was my Luna, I would not pressure her. And Megan’s arrival seemed timely. It was imperative that she felt not only welcome but also protected.
“Please feel at home, Miss Rebecca. I’ll be right back,” I said firmly, knowing exactly what my next step was. And that I had to do it as soon as possible.
“Where are you going?”
The fear in her eyes was so obvious that in just a second she tried to get to her feet, reaching for me with her arms. I stopped her immediately, taking her hands in mine, looking deep into her eyes. They were green, as was her hope of getting better. I felt lost in those sparkling, clear eyes. I wished so much she could see me. The despair and the fear of loneliness were so present, I felt the urge to kneel and take her in my arms. And so I did.
Her scent of blended cinnamon and flowers invaded my every pore. One by one, they remained caught up in her beauty, trying but unwilling to escape. I would have stayed like this forever. She looked so fragile in my arms. I felt her crying and clinging to me as if I were her only hope. And as long as she didn’t see me or remember what really happened, I could be.
Suddenly, she pushed me away from her a little, but still in my arms. She forced me to look into her eyes. Again, that regret. She couldn’t see the way I was looking at her. The way my eyes wanted to talk to hers. Her lips were so close and tempting. I look down at her face, cup her cheeks, and whip her tears with my thumb. She was so soft under my touch, and I was sure it was not my imagination. She was trembling in my arms.
On this occasion, I was the one who pushed her far enough away to be completely safe from me. The pressure was so strong that if I had stayed in her embrace any longer, I would definitely have kissed her. I would have felt the softness and sweetness of her lips that I craved so much. So it was best to pull away as far as I could but also assure her I would never leave. At least for now.
“It’s alright, Miss Rebecca, I’ll just be in the kitchen. It’s down the hall. So it’s not too far, okay?”
She just stared at me for a long time, trying to break through that barrier of blindness. I could see she was having a hard time doing it, but I could also see she was very determined.
Another good reason to put some distance between us. She was staying too damn close. This was too hard. I had to call Megan here immediately.
I didn’t put it off any longer and went into the kitchen, where I had some peace and quiet. Even my thoughts were at ease. I’d known Megan for a long time. She was my mother’s best friend and, by extension, mine. Megan was also a werewolf and helped my mom a lot to get over my dad’s decision. She always said it was the only solution. I didn’t hate him for what he’d done to me, but it was clear what life he’d condemned me to.
Megan answered my call from the very first ring. I smiled a little at the thought that maybe she was standing with the phone in her hand.
“Dominic, how nice to hear from you. How is the world’s most beautiful and favorite rogue doing?”
It was my decision not to take over my father’s pack. I wanted to do something else with my life. He’d never agreed to my acting career, anyway. He thought I was exposing myself too much. I knew how to control my emotions, and maybe that helped me not to lose my temper.
Megan had an excellent ability to read minds. And I was convinced she already knew what it was all about.
“As you probably know, I need you here. I brought home a woman attacked by a pack of werewolves. I still don’t know why or who they were. Unfortunately, they killed her fiancé, and she is temporarily blind, unable to walk because they fractured her legs and has no memory of the night of the attack,” I explained as succinctly as I could, lowering my voice a little when I said about Tom.
“If you whisper the killing part, I understand she doesn’t know yet. And what exactly do you want me to help you with?” I could sense she was worried.
“That’s right, she still doesn’t know she was engaged, and although she doesn’t remember the attack part, it seems she remembers nothing about Tom, her fiancé, either.” At a certain point, there was silence. It seemed like Megan was trying to take it all in and figure out what her role was going to be in this entire story.
“Wow, what you’re telling me is like straight out of a movie...”
“And yet it’s true. Rebecca is very affected and at the same time wants to remember what happened. I know that if she does, she’ll suffer a lot. That’s why I don’t want to leave her alone. I chose not to interrupt my career... because...” but I couldn’t go through with something that was so obvious. And Megan did it for me.
“Because you fell in love with her!” she continued, convinced that this was the reason. And there was really no point in denying it since she could read my mind. Surely when she agreed to come, she would realize who Rebecca really was.
“Ok, maybe things aren’t turning out exactly the way I imagined, but if fate has set me up for this attempt, I won’t shy away”
“And you think I can help you...”
“I don’t think so, I know so” For a few seconds there was a pause again. It seemed that I was the one now hearing her thoughts.
“Okay, I’ll do it!” she suddenly said in one breath. “When do I have to come?”
“If you can make it, right now.”
Although my haste surprised her, she accepted without question. As soon as I hung up, I went back to Rebecca. She was in the same place on the couch. “I’m sorry it took so long. A good friend of mine will be here soon. Actually, she was my mother’s, and that makes her mine by definition. Megan Hall, you’ll like her.”
“Why is she needed here?” she asked suddenly, looking at me, listening to the sound of my voice.
“Miss Rebecca, as you well know, I’m an actor. Although I know you still don’t believe me, there will be days when I will be away from home and it’s not convenient to leave you alone.”
“Are you afraid I might escape? Don’t be afraid, I couldn’t in this condition”
I didn’t know why, but she said it with a trace of regret.
“That’s not why she’s coming here. As you’ve probably figured out, I can’t hold you by force if you don’t want to. You are free to go whenever you like. It’s just that I somehow felt the need to take care of you after the attack you suffered and I happened to be around to save you.”
“Okay, my mistake. I didn’t mean for it to sound like that. In this case, it will be a pleasure to meet Megan,” she concluded with a slight smile on her face. Was she even aware of how beautiful she was?
After helping her make herself more comfortable in the living room and taking her suitcase to a room downstairs, I volunteered to make us some coffee. As soon as I entered the room with the tray, I heard a few knocks on the front door. It had to be Megan. I placed the tray on the table and excused myself.
“Megan, welcome!” I greeted her with a smile so wide even I didn’t know I was capable of having.
“It’s nice to know you’re welcome in a home, especially your own. I was really wondering how you were doing?” Megan was a jovial person and Rebecca will do her good talking to her.
As I knew it was a direct attack on me, I reacted in my defense.
“I know I’ve kind of neglected you since I lost my mom, but...”
“You don’t have to apologize, you’re not to blame. It’s better late than never, right? Now, where’s Miss Rebecca?” she interrupted me without a chance to further explain.
“She’s in the living room. Come, let me introduce you” We crossed the wide hallway and as soon as Megan spotted her, she simply couldn’t help herself. “Miss Rebecca, I want you to meet someone,” I approached her just as Megan dropped the bombshell.
“My God, Dominic, but this is your Luna!” Megan exclaimed, and I saw Rebecca’s face darken in disbelief.
“What does Luna mean?”
