28. Fall in Love
The sunset that slowly turned into night at the beach created a magical atmosphere. The fading sunlight was replaced by streaks of orange and purple stretching across the horizon, giving the sky a warm hue. Starla and Ha-neul continued their activities, savoring the beauty of each moment spent together.
“I never get tired of watching the sunset,” said Starla, her voice soft but full of wonder. “Every time I see it, it always feels magical.”
Ha-neul smiled, his gaze following Starla’s. “Yes, the sunset always has a way of making us feel calm and amazed. And here, with you, everything feels more special.”
They continued walking along the shoreline, the smooth and soft sand touching their feet. The gentle sea breeze blew, carrying a refreshing salty aroma. Waves rolled in slowly, creating a soothing natural symphony.
After a while, they arrived at a small cove surrounded by large rocks. The place looked hidden, offering a sense of privacy and intimacy. Ha-neul invited Starla to sit on one of the large rocks facing the sea.
“Sitting here while enjoying this view feels like a dream,” said Starla, her eyes sparkling as she gazed at the horizon now cloaked in the darkness of night.
Ha-neul nodded in agreement. “I feel very lucky to be here with you. This place, this atmosphere, everything feels perfect.”
They sat together, enjoying the moments as the sky changed from orange to purple, until finally the dark of night enveloped them. Stars began to appear, giving off a soft and warm glow in the night sky. Ha-neul took out his phone and played their favorite songs, enhancing the serene ambiance.
“This is my favorite song,” said Starla, her eyes brightening as she heard the familiar music. “This song always makes me feel calm.”
Ha-neul smiled and gently put his arm around Starla’s shoulder. “I know. That’s why I’m playing it. I want us to enjoy this moment wholeheartedly.”
Starla felt her heart warm, sensing the genuine intimacy and closeness. “Thank you for bringing me to this place, Ha-neul. Otherwise, I would be really bored in the apartment right now.”
Ha-neul looked at her with affection. “No need to thank me, Starla. It’s because I’m always happy when I’m with you.”
Hearing that, Starla fell silent, then shifted her gaze to the sea. After a moment, their eyes met and Ha-neul smiled at her. She thought it wasn’t good for her heart to keep looking at Ha-neul’s face like that. Her heartbeat raced wildly, thankfully the sound couldn’t be heard by anyone because if it could, it would echo loudly.
They both remained silent for a moment, enjoying the soft music and the beautiful night scenery. The sound of waves gently hitting the shore, the twinkling stars above them, everything created a peaceful and happy atmosphere.
After a while, Ha-neul broke the silence that enveloped them. “Starla, have you ever thought about our future? I mean, about what you want to achieve?”
“I have many dreams, Ha-neul,” she replied softly. Starla turned and smiled, her gaze drifting far out to the calm sea in front of them. The shimmering water under the sunset reflected the hidden hopes in her heart. “One of them is to create stories that can inspire others. I want my works to give hope and happiness to those who read them.”
Ha-neul nodded, his eyes full of understanding. “That’s a beautiful dream, Starla. I believe you can achieve it. What inspires you to write stories?”
Starla took a deep breath, trying to gather her thoughts. “I’m always inspired by the beauty of the world around us, by humans with all their strengths and weaknesses. I want to write about love, struggle, and hope. About how we can rise even in the darkness. I want people to know that they are not alone, that there is always hope at the end of the road.”
Ha-neul smiled at Starla’s words. He felt a burning spirit within her, a spirit that wasn’t easily extinguished. “I’m proud of you, Starla. I believe your stories will touch many hearts and bring change.”
Starla felt warmth in her heart hearing Ha-neul’s support. “Thank you, Ha-neul. Your support means a lot to me. What about you? What’s your dream?”
Ha-neul nodded, feeling the same enthusiasm. “I also think like that. Music has the power to touch people’s hearts and change their lives. That’s why I love what we do.”
They smiled at each other, feeling the bond between them grow stronger. In the silence that returned, they knew their dreams were not something impossible.
Ha-neul smiled, his eyes shining with hope. “We will achieve all our dreams, Starla. I’m sure of it. As long as we keep fighting, we can face anything.”
The night grew later, but the beauty and warmth between them continued to flow. Ha-neul invited Starla to walk back along the beach, enjoying the calm and peaceful night atmosphere. They walked side by side, with Ha-neul occasionally sharing funny stories from his past, making Starla laugh freely.
“Did you know,” said Ha-neul, “when I was a kid, I once got stuck in a tree for hours because I was too scared to come down. I shouldn’t have climbed such a tall tree.”
Starla laughed heartily hearing Ha-neul’s story. “Seriously? I can’t imagine you getting stuck in a tree!”
Ha-neul nodded, smiling sheepishly. “It was really embarrassing. But now when I think about it, I laugh too.”
They continued sharing stories and laughter, feeling their closeness grow deeper. The calm night atmosphere on the beach gave them space to talk heart-to-heart, getting to know each other more intimately.
After a while, they stopped at a spot that looked very beautiful under the moonlight. Ha-neul looked at Starla with a loving gaze. “Starla, I feel very lucky to know you. You are an inspiration for many things in my life.”
Starla felt her heart tremble hearing Ha-neul’s words. “I also feel very lucky to know you, Ha-neul. You always make my life more colorful and meaningful.”
They gazed at each other, feeling a strong bond. In the silence of that night, they knew that their togetherness was something very precious. With the gentle night breeze brushing their faces, Ha-neul and Starla felt that on this beach, under the light of stars and the moon, they found the true meaning of love and togetherness.
In that night full of magic, Starla wondered to herself if this time, the feelings she just experienced now, were the feelings that had been missing from her heart? Did Starla really have feelings for Ha-neul? Or rather, was she now falling in love?
