Chapter 37
“Vivienne, oh my God are you okay?” Jen asked me as soon as I walked in the door.
“Yeah, a little shaken,” I said.
“I saw it all on the news, I can’t even believe this guy has been stalking you for months,” Jen said.
“Yeah, I didn’t know either, and then he killed Julia and John in a fit of jealous rage,” I said. “I think he would have killed Aaron too,” I said, cringing.
“Oh honey I’m so sorry,” Jen said pulling me close and hugging me.
“How is Aaron doing?” Jen asked.
“They put him on administrative leave while they investigate. One of the officers who came to speak with me and ask questions said they found a bloody knife in Larry’s car which matched the murder weapon,” I said.
“Wow, and you had no idea he was following you?” Jen asked.
“No I saw a cop car at places I would go, and I sometimes thought it was just me dating a cop, now I was seeing cops everywhere” I said.
“So now what? You just go back to normal life after all you have been through,” Jen said.
“I guess, but first I am going to get to work,” I said and walked into my office. Throwing my purse into a drawer, I started up my computer as my cell phone rang.
“Hello,” I said, not recognizing the number.
“Vivienne this is Larry don’t hang up, I want to apologize,” he said.
I hung up the phone. How did he get my number? I blocked the number and told Jen what happened.
I came back to my office and spent the rest of the day not answering my phone and blocking any number I didn’t know.
When I got home that night, I locked the door three times to ensure it was locked. I called Aaron and there was no answer. He must be busy, I thought as I made myself something to eat.
I felt like someone was watching me and looked out the front window. There was Aaron standing in the yard. He was looking at something in the grass, bent down. Then he looked up at the house, and waved. I waved back. I walked to the front door and opened it leaning against the door frame.
“Hey stranger,” I said, smiling as Aaron came up and gave me a kiss on the lips.
“Hi, can I come in, I need to talk to you?” Aaron asked.
“Of course,” I said as my heart beat faster.
We walked into the living room, and he sat down on the couch, patting the seat next to him. I sat down beside him, and he rested his hand on my leg. “So Larry made bail and is out of the jail for the time being,” Aaron said.
“What, how is that possible? He murdered two people,” I said as my heart beat faster. “He called me today at my office,” I said and leaned closer to Aaron.
“I think you need to come and stay with me, it’s not safe here,” Aaron said, abruptly standing up.
“Okay, let me grab a few things,” I said as I walked up the stairs to my bedroom. “Aaron would you mind checking the messages on my answering machine please?” I asked from the top of the stairs.
“No problem,” Aaron said.
I could hear the answering machine as Aaron went through the messages. After I gathered a few things and threw them into a duffle bag, I headed back down the stairs. I heard the answering machine say “message deleted”. “Who was the message from?” I asked as I came into the living room with the bag over my shoulder.
“Oh, no one,” Aaron said and grabbed the bag from me. I grabbed my purse, and we headed out the door, locking it behind us. I got in my car and followed Aaron to his place.
He lived in an upscale apartment in Minneapolis within the uptown area, not somewhere you would expect a cop to live. The place had a high level of security, including a guard in the front lobby. He greeted the guard as we walked into the lobby after parking in the underground parking garage.
As we walked to the elevator in the parking garage, I couldn’t help but wonder who Aaron had erased a message from, he was clearly being very vague about who it was. I dismissed the thought as we got onto the elevator. He dropped my bag on the ground and pulled me close, grinding his growing erection into my pelvis. I giggled as he bit my neck slightly and pulled my hair. He growled at me and gripped my breast in his hand. The elevator doors opened to his floor and he released me grabbing my hand and pulling me out of the elevator. He pressed me against the hallway wall running his hands up and down my body. I could feel my panties getting wet as he gripped my breasts and pushed his erection against me.
“Aaron let’s go inside,” I said breathlessly.
“In a minute I need you,” he said grinding his hips into me.
He gripped my butt with his hands and lifted me up against the hallway wall. I looked up and down the hallway, there were several apartments but no one had come out of their home. I wrapped my legs around his waist as he pumped his hardened member against me just layers of fabric stood between him and his desire to take me now. My skirt had slipped up and he pounded against my panties. I gripped his shoulders as he quickly undid his pants with one hand. Still gripping my butt with the other. I felt the push of his arousal against my panties before he reached a finger into the fabric moving it aside he plunged deep inside me.
I gripped his shoulders digging my fingernails into his flesh as he drove me to the edge of ecstasy. I bit down onto his shoulder so I wouldn’t scream out. Panting we both climaxed bringing us over the edge. He pulled out of me and let me go as he leaned against me and chuckled “welcome to my place.”
We walked into the apartment and set our stuff down in the living room. “Are you hungry?” Aaron asked, walking into the kitchen. I followed him and was pleasantly surprised by the marble countertops and stark white cabinets. The whole kitchen was black and white, completely spotless.
“Yes please, I was about to make something when you showed up,” I said sitting down at a stool at the counter.
“All right then here is my chance to make you my culinary delight,” he said with a wink.
“Oh really, I didn’t know you could cook,” I said with a smile teasing him.
“I have many talents you aren’t aware of, yet,” he said raising his eyebrows.
Aaron poured me a glass of wine and I watched as he cooked. I heard my cell phone ring and walked into the living room to grab it. My heart stopped when I saw private caller on the screen. “AARON,” I screamed.
He came running into the room as I stood there shocked with the phone in my hand. “Should I answer it? Larry had called me earlier today at work and I was so freaked out,” I said and leaned against him.
He grabbed the phone from my hand and hit the answer button. “Who the fuck is this?” he barked into the phone.
“Oh sorry she’s right here,” Aaron said, handing me the phone. “It’s Jen.”
“Jen are you all right?” I asked.
“Vivienne you have to come and get me, Eric and I were out and he left me. I’m using someone’s phone from the bar,” she said, sobbing.
“What do you mean that son of a bitch left you? Where are you Aaron and I will be right there,” I said turning to Aaron. “We have to go get Jen, Eric just left her at the bar.”
“Let me grab my coat, and turn off our food,” he said walking swiftly into the kitchen.
“Jen we will be right there, Joey's bar on 44th,” I said grabbing my purse off the couch.
We walked down to the parking garage and took Aaron’s car. He drove fast up to the bar. “So when we’re you gonna tell me about Larry calling you?“ he asked.
“I didn’t get a chance I tried to call you but you were already at my house telling me to leave. Then we kinda got caught up in the moment in the hallway,” I said smiling and resting my hand on his arm. “Yeah he called me today and I blocked his number, he kept calling from different numbers.”
“Well what did he say?” Aaron asked.
“He didn’t really say anything but the first time he said he was sorry. He said he just wanted to explain, but I hung up and blocked the number.” I said.
Aaron kept glancing in the rear view mirror on the way to the bar. “I think that car is following us.”
