Travis POV
Conrad nor I have heard from Viv since she left with that asshole, Alpha Ozzy. I do not trust him or his intentions with her. She is blind to him and how he treats her. What is it that pulls her in and makes her want to be with that ass?
It is time for her to be here, and she is not at work yet. I am in charge of the bar tonight. Conrad is putting her downstairs, and hopefully, there will be no Ozzy interference tonight. I know that smug Alpha only wants her for his own pleasure. He does not care anything about her. I will prove it to her. I will show her what a pig he is, so maybe she can let him go once and for all. She deserves better than him.
I work my ass off getting the bar set up when Conrad comes over looking pissed off. "What is it?" I ask him as I struggle to get everything done.
"She is here. I put her downstairs, and Alpha Ozzy is with her. Look, I cannot do anything about him, so watch yourself around him, got it. He will only be here another day, and then maybe we can talk some sense into her about him," Conrad says.
Conrad is right. Alpha Ozzy has free reign. There is nothing we can do about him except smile and keep going. "Wait, I am not a damn wolf, nor am I under him. Fire me, but tonight I will tell him how I feel about him," I snap at Conrad after I have had a moment to think.
Conrad grabs my upper arm. "Listen to me. You do not want to tangle with him. He will have you dead in a ditch before we even know you are missing," Conrad says. Conrad looks afraid. Why in the hell did he let her get involved with him if he knew how dangerous he is? Why?
I look up to see Alpha Ozzy sitting at the end of the bar. "Tony, go wait on the prick," I say harshly. Tony goes down to the end of the bar and takes Alpha Ozzy a whiskey.
"I am going to talk to her," I say. I step out of the back of the bar and grab a few bottles of champagne. I make my way down the stairs to deliver the bottles to the VIP rooms.
I sit the bottles down on Viv's desk. She looks up at me and smiles. "I thought you might need these for the rooms tonight. I will put them in the cooler," I say.
"I can do it. I know you are busy with the bar," Viv says.
"Yeah, I am very busy. There is an asshole at the end of the bar that is destroying someone I consider a friend. What the hell are you doing?" I ask her.
She looks down. She does not know what she is doing. She is just as confused as we are about her situation and that damn Alpha King asshole.
"You are too good for him, Viv. You deserve more than that. You deserve someone who cares about you and your soul, not someone who just wants to fuck your brains out," I say.
Viv sits silently. "I love him," she says.
"I hate to break it to you, but he does not love you. Look what he did to you. Look how he treated you," I say.
"He loves me, Travis. He is sorry about the way he treated me, and we are trying to figure out a way to be together," Viv says.
"Trying to figure it out. Viv, you should not be hidden. I would never treat you this way. He jets into town for a piece of ass, and then off he goes. Do not be this stupid! If he cared about you, there would be no questions, and there would only be love," I say. I storm off. I go back upstairs to the bar. I have said what I need to say to her. Now, if I get the chance, I will tell him exactly how I feel.
I bypass the bar and go out the back. This damn witch is under my skin. I should have never taken her home with me or started having feelings for her. Now I have to watch her be stupid and be in love with that Alpha. He does not care for her. I have to find a way to show her what I know.
I smoke a cigarette and then go back into the bar. I cannot leave Tony at the bar too long. It would be a disaster. I have already left him too long. I go right back to work, ignoring Alpha Ozzy. Any time he wants something, I send Tony. I will not go down there.
As I work, it dawns on me. There is one person who caused a lot of trouble for Ozzy and who might shed some light on what an asshole he is - the ex-girlfriend. I am going to find her and get her alone so I can talk to her. I want to know everything about this prick and what his intentions are with Viv.
The night passes without any further incident. I have a plan in motion as soon as I get off work. I am going to find the ex. I finish up cleaning, and Tony does all of the restockings. Conrad is pleased no one went after Ozzy, and we just kind of let everything slide throughout the night. I think I handled myself well, despite the fact I really wanted to beat his ass.
"Hey, Travis, I am done. I am going to head out," Tony says.
"Wait a minute, do you know Ozzy's ex, the one that came in here and caused all the trouble with Viv?" I ask him.
"Oh Yeah, Gia," Tony answers me.
"Do you know how I can find her?" I ask him. Tony smiles at me and takes out a piece of paper and a pen. He writes down Gia's number for me.
"All of us know Gia. She likes to play around. Have fun," Tony says.
"Thanks," I say as I take the paper and put it in my pocket. Gia likes to play. This might get interesting.
I close up and leave the bar. Alpha Ozzy goes down the stairs to retrieve his prized possession. That is all she is to him, something he can own. I would give her the world, yet he only wants to possess her.
As soon as I get into my car, I pull out my phone and send Gia a message.
*we have a mutual friend, and I need your help* I sent it and wait for a reply.
She does not reply until I am almost back at my house.
*who* she texts.
*Ozzy. I want to know everything about him* I text her back.
*where can we meet?* she texts.
I send her my address. I go inside to wait for her. Nothing is more reliable than a pissed-off ex, and I have a feeling Gia is the right one to help me.
