Chapter 22

**Jaxson**

Never in my life have I ever been nervous about what I was about to do. I was going to ask Lana to become Gabriel’s mother legally. Sitting behind my desk, I typed out the document hoping that Lana would be coming to sign. I still haven’t asked her and I reeked of anxiety as the time drew near.
Printing out the document; I took the paper from the printer and placed it on my desk. Lana stepped in and smiled, making me want to take her right here and now. I rose from my chair and met her halfway. “Baby, I have something I want to ask you. I want you to become Gabriel’s mother.”
She widened her eyes and shook her head. “I can’t Jax. What will the pack think?”
Placing my finger on her mouth, I brought her to my chest. “There’s no one else I’d rather be his mother. It’s time for me to move on, and I want to move on with you. Only you.”
I led her behind the desk and placed her on my lap so she was sitting in front of the document. “All you have to do is sign and it’s official.”
She picked up the pen and signed her name at the bottom. Now that that’s done, I can finally breathe with ease.
I nuzzled my face in her neck and kissed her gently. I could smell the arousal coming off her body as I sucked on my mark. ”Jaxson, I have to go check on Gabriel.” I didn’t want to let her go, but I needed to go check on James. I reluctantly let her go and watched her ass as I licked my lips.
“Easy there, Jaxson.” A voice next to me teased me. Cole had walked in while I was thinking of all the dirty things I wanted to do with my mate.
Growling at him baring my teeth, he put his hands up in surrender. “We’ve got a problem. Well, kind of.”
“Is it the rogues again?”
“It’s James. Last night he…” He hesitated as if he didn’t want to say.
“Just spit it the fuck out!”
“He called for one of the girls for pleasure, but it wasn’t one of them that came to him. It was one of the maids.” My head snapped up at this newfound information.
“Which one?” Please tell me it wasn’t who I think it is.
“Erica.” No. She was one of the good girls. “She went on her own free will.”
Storming out of the office, I ran to his room and busted down his door. I didn’t care if I was interrupting something or not. James looked up horrified when he saw how angry I was. “Please help me understand why you have gone and had sex with her when you knew she wasn’t like the others. Out of all of the maids, you had to go and use her.”
He lowered his head in defeat and whispered. “I was drinking and I just wanted to release some stress. I apologized to her, but she ran away.”
“Just stay away from her,” I commanded him, but he shook his head.
“Not sure I can. There’s a chance she might be my mate.”
Shit!
“Just promise me you’ll behave yourself around her.” He nodded, and I left him to go find my sister. I needed her to go talk to Erica and find out from her point of view what happened. I stood there at her door and heard Cole groaning. Why is it every time I come to her room he’s making those noises? He was just in my office and now he’s here.
Really, Cole?
“Natalia! Open up this door.” I could hear them shuffling around the room and whispering. When she opened up the door, she shot me a questioning glance. “I need you to go talk to Erica, and ask her what happened between her and James.”
It was about noon, and the day had already been too dramatic for me. It didn’t even have to do with the rogues or Lorenzo. As soon as this blows over, me and Lana are taking a vacation.
I spotted Lana bent over the crib laying Gabriel down for his nap. I had a clear shot of her breasts peeking out of her shirt. Licking my lips, I was jealous of my son. I wanted to be the one she was leaning over. I rubbed the back of my neck and groaned.
She came to me, pushing me down on the bed, and sat behind me. “Let me help you unwind baby. The witch is coming tonight, right?”
I hummed in response as she massaged my shoulders. “You seem more tense than normal Jax.”
Her touch was making me feel things. Like getting an erection and wanting to fuck her, but I know she hasn’t been feeling too well. The pregnancy is doing a number on her. Suddenly, I could feel her hands kneading my shoulders.
“Jaxson.” Her sweet voice called to me. “I need a nap.”
I rolled over to my side and pulled her back to my chest. “Sleep, my little mate.”
She fell asleep almost immediately, but not me. I was still too wound up from all the excitement. Someone softly knocked at the door and entered. Natalia stood there motioning for me to come out in the hall.
“Well?” She had gone to find out what went down between James and the maid.
“She told me that she’s his mate, but he doesn’t know.”
“He knows, but just being a jackass about it.” She sighed just as Cole came up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist. I looked away not wanting to see my sister and best friend engage in such an intimate moment. “Just come get me, or dad if he starts his shit with her.”

Lorenzo
My plan was coming together beautifully and by now they’ve found the body. I drained that naïve little bitch and loved every drop of it. Jaxson had a spy in his pack and didn’t even know it. When he does find out who it is, he’s going to lose his shit. This man I’ve got working for me is going to be the key to kidnapping the hybrid.
“Did you install the cameras?” I asked him as I ran my fingers through my dark brown hair.
“Yes. Everything is ready.” When I finally have her, I’ll make sure he’ll know exactly who betrayed him. I have so many plans for Lana when I get my hands on her. The minute I have her in my possession, he’ll be so broken that he won’t be able to fight. At first, it was about her. Now it’s about him.
My father was a good friend to Jaxson’s father and then he just threw him away like yesterday's trash. He was supposed to be his beta, not James.
“You may go now.” He curtly nodded and quickly left.
I had to hire another maid since I killed my last one. This one is just as scared of me as the last one was. Good. She has every reason to be frightened of me. I preferred it that way. After all, I had a reputation to keep.
Loading up the camera feeds, I grinned knowing that I would soon be able to take step two. Everything from here on out would be a piece of cake. The hardest part was getting all the cameras into each room without anyone noticing. I was going to be able to watch their every step and know exactly when I could slip in and take her.
Before the next full moon, I would have drained her powers and made her like me. A vampire. She would become my slave and tend to my every need. She was going to be my little slut. Just like I trained her to be, and Jaxson’s child would be raised as if it were mine. He would grow up to think he was the enemy and hate him.
It would be the perfect revenge on him and his father. A father who desperately wanted his son’s love, but never got it. It would be his undoing. It would break Jaxson’s father knowing there wasn’t a damn thing he could do to make it right. The alpha would be broken from losing his mate leaving him vulnerable for anyone to attack.
Bringing the glass to my lips, I smiled knowing that I would be the one who attacked Jaxson and take complete control over his entire pack. I would be the one he bowed to when he begged for his life.
As long as this guy I got working for me stayed loyal, I would succeed. If he proved to be loyal, I might spare him his life. Who knows, I might even make him my new beta.
