Chapter 29
**Lana**
Duke, Jaxson’s brother, pushed my hair out of my face and whispered. “Lana, dear sweet Lana, where’s your little mate now? Hmm?”
“Fuck. You.” I growled.
I tried to ease my wrists through the rope but it was no use. They tied me up good. Being touched by anyone but my mate made me sick to my stomach. Duke wrapped his hand around my throat and sneered, “I see Jaxson didn’t teach his little bitch any manners. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure you know each and every rule. Even if I have to break you.”
“Jaxson is going to kill your witch and after he does that, he’ll rip out your heart. Again.”
“Oh Lana, you are in store for a treat later.”
“Where’s Gabriel?” I demand, “What have you done with him?!”
“In due time, my sweet. But first, I’m going to have a little fun with you. Jaxson was right to keep you from the other men. You are one ripe woman.”
“Don’t touch me!”
I closed my eyes and fought the urge to puke when I felt him jerk my head to the side. His lips touched my neck, his canines grazing my skin. It disgusted me. I let out a blood curdling scream when he sunk his teeth inside. Right in the same spot as when Jaxson marked me. I cried out in pain, but he covered my mouth with his free hand. I opened when he pulled away and licked the blood off his lips. “My, my, you are a tasty little thing.”
“Duke,” Lucinda hissed, “We won’t be able to use her if she’s drained of her blood.”
“Such a shame.”
Duke followed Lucinda out of the room and locked the door on the outside. I hung my head down as tears fell onto my lap. I heard a masculine voice whisper, “Hey, girl. Wanna keep it down?”
I whipped my head to the side and saw a man chained to the fence. He had been stripped of his shirt, leaving him in only his pants. “Who are you?”
“Doesn’t matter.”
“How long have you been here?”
“Stop talking, you’ll only attract attention and I don’t want that.”
“At least tell me your name.”
“Remus. Now, quit talking.”
The doors slammed open, revealing a man I’d never seen before. I could tell he wasn’t human. He smelled like rotting flesh. He flashed a smile and said, “Well damn, girl. You’re a sight for sore eyes.”
“Who are you?”
“King Allesandro,” he bowed, “At your service, Luna.”
Another figure shuffled in covered in blood. I gasped when I met Jaxson’s gaze. He ran to me and ripped the rope off me. I wrapped my arms around him and cried into his neck. “Jaxson.”
“Come on Jaxson, we don’t have much time before they realize she’s gone.”
“Wait, what about him?”
“What about him?”
“We have to get him too.”
Allesandro nodded and ripped the chains from him, causing him to collapse to his knees.
“Grab him, and let’s get the hell out of here.” Jaxson told Allesandro.
“Wait Jaxson, what about Gabriel?”
“He’s already safe with my father.”
I must’ve fallen asleep on the way back home, because I woke back up in Jaxson’s bed. Jaxson cupped my face and kissed me. “God, baby, I thought I lost you.”
“Is it over? The witches and Duke are dead?”
“No,” he clenched his jaw, “The war is only beginning. When they took you and my son, they started a war. One they won’t be able to win.”
“What now?” I asked.
“Now, I protect you and my children from ever being harmed again.”
“What about my powers?”
“I have someone that can help in that department. You remember Allesandro?”
“Yes.”
“He has agreed to come three days a week to help you. Of course, with my supervision and only after the baby is born.”
This isn’t the end… this is only the beginning. A war between witches, werewolves, and vampires has been brewing. Only the strong will survive. It’s going to take a powerful vampire, alpha, and witch to come out on top. If it’s war the witches want, we’ll give them a damn war.
