Chapter 28

**Elise**

When finally arriving to where the pack was currently waiting did my nerves finally set in. Unsure why I was suddenly nervous when I was the new leading Alpha of my pack. Having seen my father do it many of times as a child.

*Come on Elise…. Pull yourself together. You’ve done this hundreds of times, so why are you so nervous now? Wait I know. It’s because of Ashton, that’s why* I scold to myself. Suddenly aware that Ashton would forever be my weakness and I him.

*‘Relax. The pack will love him’* purrs Elza as if trying her best to help me.

*‘I know they will. But some of them might now’* I counter, Ashton gently squeezing my hand which catches my attention. My eyes now on him as we pause.

“Relax little mate. Everything will be fine. Promise” assures Ashton, a sigh rising as he does.

“I’m trying to. I’m just nervous that’s all” I admit.

“Why?”

“Because I’m doing this without my father. And as the new leading Alpha of this pack, it’s my job as Alpha to introduce new pack members. And before me, it was always my father’s job. But ever since his encounter with the Rogue King and the Sky Pack, he hasn’t been the same since.”

“I know little mate. But I promise you, your not alone in this. I’m here with you and so is our Beta, Gamma and Delta” admits Ashton, Ashton now trying to cheer me up. A part of me glad I had someone like him and not Malik.

Smiling, I attempt to relax, already knowing he was right.

“Your right. I’m not alone in all of this. I have you, my dad, Elza and my Beta, Gamma and Delta. Now then, let’s get this show on the road shall we?”

Chuckling at my words does Ashton move to squeeze my hand once more before finally continuing on our way. My fears now slowly leaving the longer I held onto Ashton’s hand.

~Pack Meeting~

When slowly approaching the pack do I instantly see just about everyone present minus those who were patrolling and of course, my father.

*‘You ready Elise?’*

*‘Ready Elza’*

With that said, I move to approach the stage. Shaun and Ian along with Iris doing a fabulous job at getting things together in order to do this. The pack now on me even as I move to stand before them all. My eyes now gazing at them in return.

“Hello. And thank you all for coming on such short notice. But with the way things have been going for us and our pack that I didn’t want to waste another second of this” I move to say. My pack now murmuring in agreement. As this was the first pack meeting without my father Sebastian.

“Now then.. I’m sure your all wondering why I’ve summoned you all here today. Well… its because I’ve officially found my Luna. And not just our Luna, but the mates of Shaun, Ian and Irish as well.”

At the mention of my Beta, Gamma and Delta does the pack all move to turn curious eyes over to where the three of them were standing. Each standing next to their mate. The pack unmoving even as they continued to stare.

Aerin, Kat and Kristan each a little uneasy by the unwelcoming atmosphere. My voice now speaking once more. “Please. If anyone has any questions or concerns once finished here I can assure you I’ll be more than happy to address them with you. And if not, then let’s get this show on the road.”

Scanning the crowd, I move to wait and see if anyone would speak up. Yet, when they don’t speak do I move to continue. “Now… first on my list of warm welcomes, let’s give a very warm welcome to Aerin. Aerin is Shaun’s mate and our new Beta female. And encase anyone is wondering, Aerin comes from the Silver Moon Pack and is a Fae and Wolf combo.”

When finishing my introduction of Aerin does Aerin move to approach me slowly. Aerin clearly nervous as being called first among the four all in which I smile. Hoping to ease her into this as I move to continue with each introduction.

“Next up, we have Kat. She’s our new Gamma female and Ian’s fated mate. She’s 100 percent wolf and hails from the Midnight Pack like our Luna. So if anyone dares talk badly about the Midnight pack or the Silver Moon Pack will all answer to me or Ashton” I add. My eyes stern.

The pack still silent even as I finish with Kat’s introduction. The silence allowing me to move onto Krista. Krista the last one to be introduced to the pack followed by Ashton, my Luna and mate.

Smiling to Krista do I move to address the pack yet again. “Now then… before we continue here, I’d just like to say that Iris’s mate is considered special. So special it’s almost uncommon. And while she too comes from the Silver Moon Pack like Aerin, Iris’s mate is not only the new Delta female but also part Dragon. So please, let’s give Krista a big warm welcome.”

Upon introducing my 3 new members of my Beta, Gamma and Delta do I slowly turn to look at Ashton. Ashton still standing with Shaun and Ian as he moves to smile warmly. Elza purring happily.

*‘Mate. Mate. I want Mate’*

*‘And you will once all the introductions are done’* I tell her. Knowing just how badly Elza wanted her mate.

*‘Then hurry up’*

Rolling my eyes at her words, I move to address the pack one final time. “Now then. Upon saving the best for last, I’d like to introduce everyone to Dark Moons newest Luna and my fated mate, Ashton. Ashton Wolf. He’s currently the ex-Beta to Alpha Issac and his pack the Midnight Pack”

My entire pack now murmuring amongst themselves even as Ashton moves to approach me upon the stage. Shaun, Ian and Iris all doing the same for their mates. Each of them slowly calming down once close to their mates.

My ears quick at picking up on all the small things going around below us. “The Moon Goddess gave her a male Luna?”

“Apparently. And not just any man either, but a Beta. One level lower than an Alpha”

“Elise should have just gone with the Alpha of Sky Pack. Malik. At least he would know how to protect the pack from Rogues”

Upon hearing all of their comments does my blood begin to boil. Elza now wanting to come forward. A move I allow as our Alpha aura flairs forward. Our Alpha aura springing to life as they speak.

“WHOEVER… has a problem with me or my mate or anything pertaining to that of the Dark Moon Pack shall address me and only me. As Alpha of this pack it’s my job to hold the peace and the unity. Anyone who has a problem with how things are run can leave” I say. Elza clearly not happy with our pack.

*‘The nerve of them to say that’*

*‘I know. Father won’t be too pleased to know that they aren’t as accepting of their new Luna as they should. Or how they pick Malik over us’* I counter. My eyes still on the pack even as they all move to shy away. Having been caught talking poorly about their Alpha and her Luna.

Ashton quick to touch my shoulder in hopes of calming me down.

“Easy love. Give them time to accept this. After all the Council doesn’t help either by feeding packs false information of how things should be runned. Nor do they accept the Moon Goddesses decisions likely.”

“I know Ashton, I know. But I don’t appreciate what my pack is saying. That’s all” I say. A sigh rising as I go back to looking at those present.

“DISMISSED!” I yell. “I don’t want to see any of you until your ready to apologize for your behavior. Those of you who accept Ashton as my mate and future Luna have nothing to fear. Those of you who don’t… well, let’s just say you won’t be too happy once I tell my father what happened. Now go.”

And just like that, they scatter.

*Author’s Note: Phew… finally… I was finally able to get this chapter written. And after 4 months of not working on this story I’m surprised I was able to write something, lol. But fear not I haven’t given up on this one nor have I forgotten about it. I just haven’t been able to properly sit down and write. But my goal for this book is to keep trying to write chapters for it even if it’s just one chapter a day. So without further ado, until I write again and thank you for not giving up on me. Bye.*
