Chapter 14
**Odette’s point of view: Instant sparks in a rekindling bond!**
After taking a breath, his posture changed into a more relaxed manner and continued speaking in an uplifting tone.
Alexander: “As for my wound, it also has fully healed. Thanks to you I have no post complications with the use of my shoulder or my arm.”
I stared directly into his beautiful eyes and instantly knew he was being sincere and honest with me, so with relief in my heart I also gave him a dazzling smile.
Odette: “Well, then I'm very glad we met each other again, on this wonderful occasion.”
Odette: “I’m excited that we can enjoy this experience together and I’m also very grateful that you have recovered to your full health.”
Alexander: “You were there for me in my time of need, I will cherish that memory always. I am also very fortunate to have cross paths with you again, especially now, under these joyful circumstances.”
With a teasing smile on his face, he shifted his gaze to my figure and slowly took in my whole appearance, with that same strange sparkle in his eyes from before.
Alexander: “Odette, you look very lovely in this gown tonight, it compliments your complexion and long locks of hair beautifully.”
My heart skipped a beat and with the unexpected compliment, a heated blush also quickly crept up my cheeks. I need to calm myself, I’m not a little girl with untamed emotions anymore!
With that thought in mind, I gradually calmed down and my heartbeat returned to its normal rhythm. When I gazed back up at him, a sudden urge took hold of me, before I also gave him a teasing smile.
Alex is wearing a long, black over coat and dark burgundy waistcoat, with a slightly unbuttoned white shirt, showing just a little above the waistcoat and black tights with a matching pare of knee length, black, polished boots.
Odette: “I deeply appreciate the compliment, Alex. You, yourself are very dashing looking, in your evening attire, it suits you very well.”
That same boyishly handsome grin, from months ago reappeared with that warm glint in his eyes, when he nodded his head in gratitude.
Alexander: “Coming from you, I take it as a great compliment; thank you Odette.”
Alexander: “It also fills me with great joy, to see you wearing the gift I have bestowed upon you. I was worried, that you might not have excepted it.”
For a moment, I looked down at the necklace and then back at Alex.
Odette: “Thank you for gifting it to me Alex, it is such a beautiful and precious gift. I immediately fell in love with it the moment I found it with the letter and haven't taken it off since.”
Alex let out a sigh of relief, before a large delightful grin formed on his lips. Then suddenly he bends over with one hand on his chest, before speaking again.
Alexander: “Dear Odette, will you do me a great honour and pleasure of dancing the Waltz with me in the ballroom?”
Out of shock, my eyes widened a few inches, before I gave him my answer.
Odette: “I would love to Alex, but I don't know how to dance the waltz. I only ever saw drawings in books of people dancing in all kinds of interesting dance formations.”
The smile on his face grew bigger and engulfed his eyes as well.
Alexander: “No need for concern, I will do all the work and lead you through the whole dance.”
Alexander: “You just have to trust in me and follow my lead.”
Feeling a sudden burst of confidence, I lifted my head higher and looked Alex straight in the eye.
Odette: “I do trust you Alex and will gladly follow your lead as best I can.”
With a soft glint in his eyes, he gently placed my right hand on top of his left hand and slowly guided me through the rest of the candle lit hallway.
When we entered the doorway to the ballroom, the bright lights from large crystal chandeliers, caught me off guard and I almost lost my balance.
But luckily Alex acted quickly and stabilized me in time, when he pulled me closer to his chest with his arm around my shoulders. After I got used to the light, I looked up at Alex and gave him a grateful smile.
Alex must have felt me tensing up and quickly drew my attention back to him, when he gently placed my hand back on his forearm and proudly led me deeper into the room.
When we got to the centre of the ballroom, Alex, softly drew us to a stop and turned to face me. Out of nowhere an orchestra suddenly started to play beautiful music, when Alex pulled me closer to him.
